Spider's nowhere to be seen. Instead there's a large notice which reads:

Dealing with nudity fallout.

This class session is to be devoted solely to the discussion of this topic. I'd like a concensus as to whether or not you wish to do this... or whether a display of your current homework will do. I am monitoring progress on these projects, by the way - at least of those of you following the directions.

Miss St. Clair and Delerium still have no other partners and I'm going to have to ask one of the already settled teams to absorb them or I'll have to assign someone to them at random and we'll have two teams of three.

Sarah sits at her desk, working on her really sexy Fandom-High-populated Regency romance novel very important principal-type work.

The puppies are asleep in the basket in front of her desk, and anybody is free to pick them up.

A note is tacked up on the door of the Sociology lab.

Dr. Grissom will be absent for the rest of the week due to illness. Members of SOC 201, 310, and 500, please sign in and you may go, the lab is open for any work you need to complete.

[OOC: I broke a few of my toes last night, and am uncomfortable and exhausted/semi-out of it. Signing in will excuse any absence for your character or count as extra credit. My apologies.]

After all the amusement from Monday the Swedish Chef had to take a break yesterday. He walked into the cafeteria on Wednesday in a good mood. He practically moon walked in, he was so happy. Das Schnitzel...was not in such a good mood. Tuesday night is Texas Hold 'Em night for her and she lost a lot of her shopping money. She wondered if Camilla ever played Texas Hold 'Em and was thinking maybe she could win some money from her. The Chef was pleased that Das Schnitzel got a taste of her own gambling medicine.

Hello.

Classics: Most of you did very well on your quiz Monday. I was especially impressed with your performances in our conversations. I still need to hold discussions in Ancient Hebrew with [livejournal.com profile] suzotchka, [livejournal.com profile] valehero, [livejournal.com profile] future_visions and [livejournal.com profile] teen_twin.

Today, we will move from Ancient Hebrew into Greek -- a language with which I have a good deal of personal experience. You may begin by studying the Greek alphabet.

Languages of Asia: We will be learning how to discuss time, month, and place in Cantonese Chinese. Here are some resources for your review. Please prepare for a quiz and discussion in Cantonese in class on Monday.

The library is closed. Behind the locked doors can be heard voices arguing.

ETA: At some point, someone sticks a sign on the door. "Library Staff Meeting. If you are on the library staff, you should be in here. If you're not, you shouldn't."

Advanced Negotiations

"Today, we’re having a test and no, you cannot negotiate your way out of it."

Padme passes out the sheets and explains the test as she walks.

"The first part of the test is multiple choice and probably the easier part of the test. Mostly, it’s definitions and their meanings. It’s really either right or wrong. The second part of the test is where I think a number of you will shine. The essay portion. You won’t be graded on your grammar, but if I don’t know what you’re saying, I can’t give you a passing grade. Once you finish, you may leave. Oh... one more thing. It’s not that I don’t trust you. *eyes certain classmates who KNOW who they are* but not all the same questions are on the same tests."

"Questions?"

[The Doctor looks great, until one looks him in the eye. He has to sit down, 'cause he's tired.]

Today you're going to continue working on Monday's group assignment: taking a particular event that happened recently at Fandom High and theorising as to different possible outcomes.

Take the information that you both (or you three) came up with, and speculate as to what would have occurred were you to travel back before that event. What would you have tried to prevent or start? And what would that have changed regarding how Fandom High is today?

thank god you're not doing this for real, as I cannot cope with more twisted timelines. Hopefully this will show the danger of even the smallest historical change. I'll be here if you have questions.

[He gives the class a meaningful look over the top of his glasses, and then ruins it by yawning.]

Camulus is still surly, but not quite as openly hostile as he was yesterday. "Apparently for this upcoming Parents' Weekend, I am required to display some sort of . . . proof that you have actually learnt something. So you are going to create a . . . child-friendly version of one of the following stories. With pictures. They will be due next Friday.

The Children of Lir
The Wooing of Etain
The Dream of Oenghus
The Destruction of Da Derga's Hostel

Now, for the lesson. )

I will be looking forward to your projects.

[[And I'm back. Midterms are complete. Laptop-not-working-scare over. I tried to find the best versions of the stories I could on short notice. Sorry for a bit of eye-bleeding format in one or two cases. Have fun!]]

Willow arrives in front of the library with her usual Wildcrafting gear: knapsack, bug spray, geeky white socks ready to be pulled up above jeans hems. She also has a notebook and pencil in her specimen basket.

[[OOC: As usual, this will be played in slowtime until next Tuesday.]]

In the Journalism room, Jake is hidden behind a tower of upside-down styrofoam cups. Obviously, he's been working very hard while waiting for everybody else to arrive.

Email to Buffy ([livejournal.com profile] chosenslayer_), Angela ([livejournal.com profile] chasingangela), Chiana ([livejournal.com profile] miss_monochrome) - AFFIRMATIVE TEAM.

Email to Callisto ([livejournal.com profile] psycho_barbie), Archie ([livejournal.com profile] actingltcrumpet), Jonathan ([livejournal.com profile] master_of_fear) - OPPOSITION TEAM.
From [livejournal.com profile] brambless

Buffy and Jonathan - thank you very much for volunteering for next week's debate.

Angela, Chiana, Callisto and Archie, I've volunteered you on the basis of your in-class discussions. I think you have valuable perspectives to bring. Chiana, I know that I've assigned you to the view opposite to that you espoused in class, but I believe your different view will help your team to prepare for the arguments the opposition will bring against you.

Buffy, Angela and Chiana will debate the affirmative of the argument "Murder is never acceptable, regardless of circumstance."
Callisto, Archie and Jonathan will debate the negative. It will be easiest if you mentally frame this as "It is not the case that murder is never acceptable, regardless of circumstance."

Debating for Dummies )

You will debate this topic in Monday's class. I advise you to meet to prepare your argument before Monday.

If you have any questions, or feel that you need help, please contact me. I will be in my office all day Thursday and Friday (outside of actual class times), or can be contacted by voicemail.
