Library - CLOSED - 19 OCT -- NOW NFB
The library is closed. Behind the locked doors can be heard voices arguing.
ETA: At some point, someone sticks a sign on the door. "Library Staff Meeting. If you are on the library staff, you should be in here. If you're not, you shouldn't."

I tell you, the gods weep at the single, perfect tear produced by such otherwise plebian announcements as 'it might rain today'. Come to me, my emo children, and worship at the feet of your god!
((OOC: Not that the entire thing wasn't OOC, but I love poor Lee and his unending stream of things that make him sad/offended/outraged/emo.))

bosombuddies, I really don't want to know what else they can do, given a little more research."no subject
Janet's face darkened. "Gosh, thanks for reminding me that I had no control over anything said or done in my body for an entire week," she snapped. "So glad to know you decided to blame me for the actions of a thankfully dead-by-now
alien parasitething.""God, Parker," says Janet. "Why don't we make a list of students that you don't like and we'll just ban all of them from the library entirely! Does that sound like a good idea to you? Haven't you heard anything about concrete proof? Innocent until presumed guilty? Any of that?"
OOC: Let me know if this gets too intense for you.

Gritting her teeth, Parker said, "This is why we need new rules, in case one of us *is* out of her head. Sorry. Look, I was going to mention the note to you earlier, I just didn't have time. You, he might take that from, as long as we had a good story. He came back before I was ready with said story! Okay? I wasn't trying to get him mad at you, for god's sake. I just wanted him to have one less reason to be mad at me or suspect what I was up to!"
Parker yelled, "Innocent until proven guilty? How about a confession to me that he's happily planning evil crap, phrased so Rover can't pick up on it, I don't have anything to work with, and almost no one fucking believes me! How about testimonials from experts in his home dimension that vampires from there *don't* change, *can't* change, *won't* change, and the fact that this 'new leaf' thing is a big joke to him! It's goddamn Catch-22, Fraiser! If we accept that he's a big old sweetie, what the hell does it matter if I research him or keep him out of the bad books? And if he's not, why the *hell* should we let him have access to them?"

"Oh, I was in my head the entire damned time! I just couldn't do anything." said Janet. "But no, everyone was asking
Hathorthat bitch if I had PMS instead. Here's a clue, Parker: Radical personality changes are not always caused by Crazy Squid Lady deciding to have what she thinks constitutes a good time! Maybe you should consider putting procedures in place to make sure everyone is who they claim to be instead of freaking out and banning people!""What note?" asked Janet. She looked at Professor Methos to see if he knew anything. "What didn't you mention to me? Why would he be mad at me when I didn't do anything?" She had a suspicion of where this was heading.
She hadn't parented a daughter through the worst of her teenage years for nothing."Why would he be less mad at you and more mad at me?""Can it, Parker," snapped Janet. "Don't yell at me because I have a problem with the situation. You're the one who's coming out with all these threats that I've never heard of before. Don't tell me I don't believe you when I've never been given a chance to decide if I should believe you or not." She glanced around the library and then back at Parker. "You show me this research. You back it up with concrete proof. I don't trust Angelus. He gives me the creeps, but I'm not about to condemn anyone without absolute knowledge of why I should condemn them."
"Did I say we should accept that he's turned over a new leaf?" asked Janet. "No. I asked for concrete proof, which you have yet to provide."

"I should put procedures in place to check for craziness? Why the hell is it my job? When did I get a shrink-ette's certificate? Space-bitch was avoiding me all week, I saw you once in three days, and then I was leading the team trying to wrangle her nitwit loverboys. So far, 80% of the craziness of this place in my experience is Professor Mind-Bitch, 10% is gremlins, and 10% was space symbiote. Excuse the hell out of me if I assume Drusilla, gremlins, and everything else, in that order!"
Parker grimaced. "I forged your handwriting on the note denying Angelus access to the Special Collections...." She winced. "And like I said, I was going to make sure he wasn't mad at you about it, I just ran out of time...."
"Fine? You want proof he's a psycho?" Parker looked from Dr. Pierson to Frasier, hot spots of color high on her cheeks. "Stay right. Here." She stormed off to where she'd left her books behind the counter, and fished out the folder of materials Broots had printed out. "There. Read and enjoy. Or read and have nightmares, I know it's been giving them to me. I especially remember the part about the nun in 1860, considering that according to Callisto he's still into nun porn. All available online from his dimension, or from Watcher's Diaries here in Special Collections. And not one person in his world who knows jack about vampires claims they're ever anything but serial killers."

Jack O'Neill would be worried. Nurses would be running for cover."You start screaming at me for finding fault with your behavior when I don't know why you're acting the way you are. Stop it. Now.""It's your job because you're the one who decided to start banning students from Special Collections preemptively based on your own biased judgment." Janet smiled. "Congratulations. You took on the responsibility for making sure the only people that made it into Special Collections were ones you approved of. Now own up to your actions. You screwed up, Parker."
"You are an incredibly irresponsible, careless individual," said Janet. In the past few minutes, her tone had gone from calm-but-firm to calm-but-irritated. Now there was anger in her voice.
Even Teal'c had been known to hide when she was this upset."You are absolutely convinced that Angelus is a murderer, that he has threatened you and Angela Chase in the past. So you forged my handwriting to your note banning him from Special Collections.""You're an idiot if you think I'm going to believe for one second that you were thinking about anyone but yourself," snapped Janet. "Don't give me that crap about making sure he wasn't mad at me and running out of time. Couldn't you come up with a better lie? One that doesn't insult my intelligence?"
Janet took the folder from Parker. "Did you think I liked him?" she asked. "Did you think I wouldn't believe your concerns were valid?" She shook her head. "Next time you get suspicions about someone's character and motives, Parker, don't be stupid. Don't forge your so-called friend's signature to a note banning that person from the information you think might get you in trouble. Maybe you should have asked that so-called friend for help before putting her on the spot and getting the vampire mad at her."
Janet turned to Professor Methos. "Professor," she said. "I'd like you to explain to Angelus that someone forged my handwriting on that note."
OOC: Anyone object to Janet making a photocopy of the materials in the folder?

"I would be happy... ah, I will. And explain to Professor Jerusalem what's going on, now that *I* know."

"Thank you," says Janet crisply. "I wasn't looking forward to spending a day in detention."
no subject
"I'll take the detention. I said I would. I'm not *that* bad a friend."
She presses her lips together. "I said it was a mistake making the forgery. I just... I had a moment. Okay, you're right. I wasn't thinking it through." Muttered in a much lower voice: "I'm sorry."
"You haven't been around to tell anything. Neither of you have been. I don't know what's up with you, Dr. Pierson, but it's not like we ever know when you'll be here." Parker looks at Janet. "You I should've just camped out for, I guess, and waited until the Daniel Jackson Drama was on intermission, then gave you this file."
"What else do you want me to say?"
no subject
"You could have come and found me," said Janet. "I would have set aside the mess that is my love life for this. Besides, I've been eating ice cream and reading books on genetics for two weeks straight now. Trust me, I needed the distraction."
OOC: And I think any plans for Janet to be mad at Parker longer were well and truly nixed by today's Ethics class. :)
