The projector was set up in the classroom, as were all the comfy cushions and rugs.

"Some days you don't want to leave your home, and just have a 'self-care day' instead," Cara said. "They mostly involve lying on the couch and watching movies. Which is what we'll be doing today."

Needless to say, she'd been outvoted on the movie.

"With popcorn," Jane added. Because that made it even better, right?

Popcorn always made it better.

Today the room had a very wide assortment of pillows and blankets at the ready for the class to continue the fine tradition of comfy. And things purloined from other classes.

Both of those.

"Today we're going to work on meditation," Jane said. "Which isn't just napping. Mostly."

"Or so they claim." Cara was very much #TeamNap.

"We'll go over some suggestions for how to start and then get right into it," Jane said. So many naps would happen, huh?

All the naps. "Remember, it's all about breathing. Or something."

Did the Danger Shop look almost identical to how it had looked for the Friendship class earlier this week? Yes. Was Cara looking suspiciously cheerful as she hefted a pillow in one hand? Also yes.

"Pillow fights can be a safe, healthy way to relieve stress," Jane said. Mostly because it was always fun to throw pillows at people.

"You don't even need to cheat and use mystical powers," Cara said, demonstrating by biffing her pillow directly at Jane's head.

"It's not cheating!" It was sort of cheating. "But everyone just grab a pillow and have fun since it's the last week before your final."

Cara threw another pillow at Jane.

Had the teachers just used the same tent and kitchen set up from the baking class for today? Yes. Shamelessly, yes. You use what you've got, okay?

"So, some people enjoy baking as a method of relaxation," said Jane who could really only reliably make pancakes.

"Yes, some people." Cara was not one of those people.

They were both doing their best here!

"So we got those tubes of cookie dough for everyone to make cookies," Jane said. "That'll make it easier."

Until someone forgot to take them out in time.

And Cara had faith that someone would, hence the fire extinguishers that had also come from the baking class. "It would be hard to mess this one up."

Again, she had faith someone would.

The classroom was pretty much set up as per usual with too many pillows, but there was a television to let everyone know it was a classic movie day.

"I got to pick the movie this week," Jane said brightly. "Since Cara picked last time. And I went with a classic."

"And extremely...relaxing sounding classic." Cara totally didn't sound like she wanted to use a different word than relaxing. Totally.

"You'll like it," Jane promised. "So everyone settle in."

"And prepare to be...relaxed."

Today the danger shop was remarkably pink colored. Because sometimes it just did what it did.

"So we've got spring break coming," Jane said. "And we thought it'd be nice to give a little class on what to do there."

Pro-tip: do not do as Cara did and wear a full-body leather cat-suit to the beach. "Because apparently our job is beach now."

"Sunscreen is a big thing so you don't spend the trip burned and unhappy," Jane said. "...or you could cover up everything."

Like Cara.

"It's also a good idea to stay hydrated," Cara added. "With water."

"We'll use today as practice," Jane suggested. Practice for vacation. Right.

"Because practice is important." Yep.

Well, there were still pillows in the classroom, but this time there were also yoga mats. Because it wasn't nap time anymore, but it could be if you weren't a coward.

"Today we'll be doing some basic yoga as a relaxation technique," Jane said. "Don't worry about perfect form, it takes practice."

"It mostly involves sitting and breathing." Cara sounded so terribly enthusiastic about this.

"Just follow along with what we're doing," Jane said with a much more enthusiastic nod.

Which meant that anyone who wouldn't be able to actually keep still for a whole class period could just blame Cara's example.

This week, Cara and Jane had taken a page out of certain of their colleges books, and class was taking place at a very fancy brunch place. Because they certainly weren't planning on leaving any of their class budget on the table.

And Jane was fore sure just drinking juice. Out of a champagne flute, yes. "Welcome to week two," she said. "Where we continue to demonstrate how best to just relax."

For her part was Cara also drinking juice, or mimosas, the world would never know. "We will actually be doing introductions this week, " she said, taking a sip of her drink. "And getting an idea of activities you might find relaxing, because as it turns out, it tends to be very subjective."

"Oh, how about everyone suggests what they find relaxing for future classes," Jane said. Look at that, a learning opportunity for everyone!

"And remember not to judge," Cara, an extremely judgemental person, said. "After all, what you find relaxing another person might find deathly dull. Or worse."

Bond had emailed his students to meet him at the edge of the preserve, where he stood with sets of various paintball gear. As each student arrived he handed them a blue or yellow bandanna.

"Good morning," he greeted them. "I thought we'd go for a relatively low key final, since it's hardly like you're being marked on this. So we're going to have a spot of two-on-two paintball."

After explaining how the paintball guns and safety gear worked for the benefit of those who hadn't paintballed before, Bond gestured to the preserve. "I've marked off an area of the preserve, Team Blue goes in, and five minutes later Team Yellow follows them. Winner is the team that ends up with less paint on them."

"The Team Blue's time starts as soon as they've finished gearing up."

Today class was being held in a classroom with a projector set up. There were also buckets of popcorn available.

"Good morning," Bond greeted them. "Given the past week, today we'll be having a much more low key class, and watching Secret Agent X-Treme a terribly silly movie that showcases some of the activities this class discusses."

The Dangershop looked, in a word, swanky. Bond had broken out the high class casino from a few semesters ago, and was in fact dressed to the nines.

"Good Morning," he greeted them, despite his dinner suit being better suited for evening. "Now, while most of our activities so far have involved danger to ones lives, there are those who prefer to get their thrills through danger to ones livelihood, or at least a significant portion thereof, choosing to gamble more money than many would see in their lifetime on a single bet in order to chase an elusive gambler's high." And sometimes the stakes were even higher, not that Bond was going to mention it.

"The game of the day is Texas hold 'em, a poker variation, largely because as it involves some small amount of skill to go with the luck of the draw."

Once more Bond's class was meeting in the Danger Shop. Once within, they stood by a set of turnstiles, overgrown with vines.

"Good morning," Bond greeted them cheerfully. "Today we'll be looking at the practice of urban exploration, which as you might guess from the name involves finding various abandoned structures within urban areas and exploring them. It's not as immediately exciting as some of your previous weeks' options, but it has its own set of thrills, both from the at best quasi-legal nature of the act, as well as various structural dangers and environmental health risks that can arise in locations such these."

"Now, we're going to exploring something a touch out of the ordinary, even for this hobby, an abandoned German amusement park." Because going to an abandoned amusement park was totally a fun teenager activity, and likely to lead to lingering psychological trauma for any of the class.

"Good morning," Bond said as his students assembled in the Danger Shop. They stood on a long stretch of deserted highway that looped through a number of low hills. A sleek looking car was parked beside him. "I decided we should probably stay away from the water this week, and we've covered the sea and the air, it's only far we visit the land this week."

He ran a hand over the roof of the car. "This is an Aston Marin DBR9. The design is based on on of their high end models that's been modified for racing. Which means it's very expensive, very fast, and the sort of vehicle you're probably not supposed to let teenagers joyride in.

"I'll go first so you can get an appreciation of how it handles, then you can take turns trying the course."

Bond had told his students to wear something suitable for swimming to class, and when they arrived at the Danger Shop there were also wetsuits and diving equipment waiting for them. The Danger Shop itself resembled a boat on a calm sea, and the top of a large metal cage poked out of the water. Triangular fins cut through the rolling wavelets.

"Good morning," Bond greeted them. "Like last week's sky-diving, swimming with sharks is another activity where a large part of the draw can be the perceived danger, for others, the draw is in seeing a species that has remained largely unchanged through millions of years in its natural environment. Now, despite certain films, shark attacks are relatively rare and the majority of them are able to be attributed to mistaken identity rather than some kind of malice on the sharks part, however, given that they are a large, apex predator and even a mistaken nibble could have dire consequences, we will be using a shark cage despite it being the Danger Shop."

Bond had his students meet him in the Danger Shop, which was set up to look remarkably like the inside of a cargo plane, with number of a packed parachutes and the relevant safety gear set out, the floor was vibrating as the engine rumbled, and some of them might have felt their ears pop from the air pressure.

"Good morning, and welcome to the second session of Relax and Recharge," he greeted them, raising his voice to be heard over the engine. "We're going to be looking at some of the more counter-intuitive ways to relax this session. Due to the reckless and dangerous nature of these activities, class for the most part will be held in here." Because only Bond got to do these incredibly reckless and dangerous things in real life.

"As is traditional, we'll be starting off slowly this week, with introductions and a static line parachute jump, because flinging oneself off out of planes and hoping you have a soft landing does wonders for the nerves," he said. "Now, the way this is going to work is you'll gear up, then introduce yourselves to the rest of the class while I double-check your gear. Once that's done, you'll be clipped to the line and exit the plane one by one.

"Any questions?"

Bond had his class meet him down on the steps of the school.

"Good afternoon," he greeted them. "One last method of relaxation is the somewhat illict thrill of blowing off one's responsibilities, such as skipping a final class, in order to do something more interesting such as going to the pub, staying in and watching sports, going out and playing them. What you do doesn't matter so much as the fact that you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing."

"With that in mind, I'll leave you to it." Though did it really count as skipping when your teacher was making little shoo-ing motions with his hands as he walked away?

[No OCD because your teacher is legging it.]

Having informed his students to wear appropriate attire and take appropriate precautions against the sun, Bond led his class down to Galactica Point, where a box full of various kinds of digging and sports equipment waited for them.

"Good afternoon," Bond greeted them. "In pleasantly warm weather like we're having, one common form of relaxation is to head to the nearest body of water to cool off. If it also happens to come with a sandy beach, all the better for those who don't feel like heading into the water. You can indulge in taking advantage of either or both of those as the mood takes you."

He nodded towards the equipment box. "There are buckets and spades should you be in a constructive mood, as well as balls and the like if you're otherwise inclined."

Today Bond led his students down to one of the wider streets of Fandom, where a number of abandoned rickshaws waited by a start line.

"Good afternoon," he greeted them. "Now one thing about relaxing, is that occasionally someone will come up with an idea that at best sounds dangerously unwise, like driving fast cars, skydiving, swimming with sharks, that kind of thing. And for some people, these activities turn out to be highly successful. Possibly because of the adrenaline rush, possibly because they have a latent deathwish."

"So today you're going to try your hands at rickshaw racing, which on an island like this, is as close to driving fast cars as I'm allowed to let you do outside the Danger Shop. I've marked out a circuit around the island, so find rickshaw to your liking, assemble at the staring line, and when I give the signal, start."

The weather being what it was, Bond had notified his class to meet him out on the lawn in front of the school, and to wear clothing they weren't particularly attached to. Scattered over the lawn were a number of inflatable kiddie pools filled with small balloons.

"Good afternoon," Bond greeted them, tossing a balloon from hand to hand. "Thus far we've concentrated on fairly sedate activities, but getting one's blood pumping can also do wonders for one's mood, whether through organised sports, both team and solo, or through something more free-form, like today's activity, which is rather on the every man, or woman, for themselves."

With that he hurled the balloon at the nearest student.

Today Bond was holding class at the movie theatre. Three guesses what it was going to involve.

"Good afternoon, now apparently it was one of those weekends," not that he'd been paying that much attention. "So today's example of a relaxing activity is also an example of one of the traditional fallback classes when teachers and students might have been dealing with more stress than usual. Namely watching a film."

[personal profile] doubleohblonde
Today Bond had his students meet him in Fast Eddie's, where he stood by one of the pool tables.

"Good to see you all again," he said, once they'd arrived. "Now last week we looked at a fairly low-effort, no equipment needed way to relax, but human nature being what it is, there have been numerous forms of relaxation created that have required specialised equipment, systems of rules, and the development of a level of skill that if one were to attempt to pursue them either professionally or competitively, which many have, which create a level of stress that would require taking up entirely different hobbies to recover. Irony aside, when played without any serious stakes involved, these activities are legitimately enjoyable, and if an excuse is needed to engage in them, a person can always claim that they are working on their hand-eye coordination."

Bond nodded around the room. "You have the run of the place for the rest of the afternoon," he said. "Do try to have fun."

[personal profile] doubleohblonde
Given the pleasant weather, Bond had his class meet him out on the grounds.

"Welcome," he said, once something resembling the right number of students had appeared. "This is Relax and Recharge, and like the name implies, this is going to be a fairly low-key class, covering various ways to de-stress. For example, lazing about on the grass in the sun and talking with each other." Spoiler, that was today's activity.

"Now, as is traditional, part of our first class is going to be given over to introductions. Name, age, and one of your favourite ways to relax. Then, once that's out of the way, I'd like you to find a partner, preferably someone you haven't talked to before today, and find something to talk about."
