As each week, the class met in the Danger Shop. Today's class started in what looked like a sporting locker room, complete with chalk board. There was a folding table set up as well, which Price and Ashley stood behind. Price set what looked like a heavy, blue upholstered suitcase on the table.

"This is what you'll be defending today. Your intelligence. But the thing is, it's not enough to just defend this. You'll be trying to capture the opposing force's intelligence as well. It's like a game of capture the flags. With guns. First..." He pulled down a screen in front of the chalk board and flipped off the lights. "A short film."

The rest of class is behind a cut )

Price smiled. "Now go out there and show them what you all can do. Because I know you all can do this."

Price wasn't a man who believed in unlucky days. So teaching a workshop on Friday the 13th didn't seem all that bad of an idea.

The class didn't meet in the Danger Shop, though. He figured most of the students had enough of the practical part and instead decided to have a sit down class. But instead of a classroom set in the traditional way, it was a circle of chairs. The instructors were part of that circle, and sat in their own chairs.

"Today is low-key," he said. "Next week is the final, where you all will be pitted against a team of demolition experts armed to the teeth. But this week, I want us all just to talk. Let's talk about the experiences we had last weekend, and how our skills kept ourselves and others alive. If you want to talk about anything else about the events, in private or with the class, that would be fine with me. Let's just think of this as a time to reflect on things, rather than just simply shooting. We all come from different backgrounds. But we're all comrades, here."

He smirked. Interesting word choice for him, there.

"Anyone is welcome to start."

As each week, the class met in the Danger Shop. This time, when the students stepped in they were in a shopping mall atrium the place was dank and musty, permeated with the stink of dead flesh. Price and Magnus stood over by a rainbow colored VW minibus that stood on a plinth surrounded by placards declaring it the car of the future. Price just smiled at the students and gestured toward a pile of ammunition and [moddable] weapons.

"Today we're getting back to business. Your task is simple. The only way out of this place is by driving this minibus out the front door of the mall. The problem is, it's got no gas. Strewn about this place are gas canisters, but you'll need to gather about eight of them to get it fully gassed and ready to go. There will be enemy hostiles. And no, I'm not telling you what to expect. I will tell you one thing, that today's exercise is supposed to stress the importance of keeping each other safe and not just yourself."

Ashley nodded. "It doesn't matter how good you are alone. Sometimes you need to have someone watching your back and you damn well better be sure that's someone you can trust."

"We'll be watching over the bus here, but we're programmed as non-combatants. The enemy won't even know Ashley and I exist. We're here to watch, and make sure you don't get in too deep. And no, you can't actually get hurt in the simulation. I'm not about to let you all sue my pants off."

"Oh, and there might be some surprise weapon caches or the like about. You're not the only ones who would've been fighting for survival here. Now... class is on. Let's see what you all can do."

Again, the class met in the Danger Shop. This time, when the students stepped in they found themselves in a stately dining room, like a four star restaurant. A large circular table had just enough chairs for each of the students and the two instructors. The table itself had stacks of pies, of every sort. Apple, cherry, banana cream, French silk, everything but meat pies. They'd just not fit in with the idea of today's activity.

"After the serious weekend events and the nature of last class, I thought you all could use a little levity," Price said.

Ashley smirked. "Don't worry, we have stuff so you can clean up after class."

"So today, it's thrown objects. And instead of grenades or knives, its pies," Price chimed in, grinning. "The only class we'll have you facing off against one another. The idea is simple, really, you just--" A pie was suddenly in Price's face, courtesy of Ashley Magnus. Comically, Price peeled the pie pan off his face, then cleared out spots of the whipped cream that covered his mug so he could open his eyes. "You just do like that, really. Have at it!"

Again, the class met in the Danger Shop. This time, when the students stepped in they found themselves on the desolate floor of a long deserted building, several stories up. At one end, there is a large open window and a Barrett M82 sniper rifle with gillie netting around it. The only other furniture in the room are another set of padded benches, and a single table. Price and Ashley stand behind that table.

One Shot, One Kill )

He then pointed to a student at random.

"You, you get to start."

Bond waited outside of the Danger Shop until all of his class had arrived. When they went inside, the room had taken on the appearance of a city devoid of life and eerily silent.

"I do hope you all remembered your zombie plans from our first class," Bond said from the doorway, checking his watch. "Since the zombie apocalypse and your final are both scheduled to start in about five minutes. Anyone who's still alive at the end of the class passes. That is unless you managed to cause the undeath of a classmate in the process, in which case you fail. Have fun."

With that he locked the door of the Danger Shop behind them. A faint groaning could be heard in the distance.

Today the world inside the Danger Shop was monochrome and grainy, a vast gravel quarry lay before the students, train tracks lay in the near distance, and if they listened carefully, the class might have heard the strains of ominous piano music. Bond stood at the edge of the quarry, looking down into it.

The class was back in the Danger Shop this week, which was set up to resemble a high-class dinner party. Resplendent in a perfectly tailored dinner jacket, Bond was there to greet them.

"There are some situations that a person cannot go into with a weapon," he said, gesturing around the spacious ballroom. "For example, many diplomatic situations, or high-class casinos, or the like, have weapons detectors, and highly trained security staff. However, that does not necessarily mean that you will go in unarmed.

"Apart from any training you may have in unarmed training, you have your wits, and your clothes. In a situation such as this, your choice of clothing can be If you look like you belong, you will be unlikely to attract much notice. If you're working in a team, having your partner wearing a stunning couture dress can distract your enemies at a vital moment." Or leave you distracted at a vital moment, it could backfire sometimes. Not that Bond was going to mention that. "In a pinch, a stiletto heel can be quite a potent weapon indeed."

Bond gestured to an unassuming door. "There is a wardrobe with suitable clothing and footwear through there, and changing stalls," he said. "You will outfit yourselves in a manner befitting this party, and spent the rest of the class mingling and getting information on various party guests, as well as looking out for any fixtures in the room that could be used as weapons. If you have trouble choosing an outfit, I will be happy to help."

Once the students had entered the wardrobe to choose their outfits, they would have noticed that it was filled with stunning couture dresses in every style, fabric, and colour imaginable. After a few more minutes they would have noticed that there wasn't a single suit in sight.

After all, it was unfair to only expect the girls to wear spike heels.

Today's class was being held in the auditorium.

"Good afternoon class," Bond said once they had finished filing in. "Today we're going to to be watching a film where the main character puts into practice the idea of using things you find in your environment as weapons. Admittedly, his environment is perhaps overly filled with things he can use as weapons, or indeed actual weapons, but the basc idea is still there."

Today the Danger-Shop was set up to look like a large plain with a castle in the distance. Bond leant against a large wooden device, looking very pleased with himself indeed.

"This is a trebuchet," Bond began, slapping the side of the device fondly. "It's siege engine dating from the Middle Ages, used mainly for flinging high speed projectiles at fortifications, though occasionally infected corpses were thrown over the walls, and while most of you are unlikely to ever need to use one for its intended purpose, they still provide an excellent exercise in calculating trajectories and distances."

"The principle is fairly simple. A missile is placed in the sling at the long end of the arm, then the counterweight at the short end is raised," he explained, pointing to the relevant parts of the trebuchet as he spoke. "When you wish to fire, this latch is released, the counterweight falls, the long arm rises, one end of the sling is released, and the missile flies off to hopefully destroy your target. Like this."

Bond did not grin as he set off the trebuchet and the stone went flying in the direction of the castle. That would have been unprofessional.

"Your mission today is to try to breach the walls of that castle over there. Who wants to go first?"

Upon entering the Danger Shop, the class would have found it set up to resemble the outskirts of a Madagascan marketplace. Bond leaned against a wall on the second story of a dilapidated building overlooking a crowd intent on betting on the outcome of some sort of animal fight. In the distance they would have been able to see a construction site.

Once the class had joined him in the building Bond began. "Good afternoon, class. Today we'll be looking at parkour, which is the art of getting from one place to another as quickly, directly, and efficiently as possible, regardless of the obstacles in your path. While this may not immediately sound like a weapon, practical or otherwise, any other skill you may learn in this class will be useless if you cannot get to or away from a given fight in time."

He nodded in the direction of the crowd. "In this exercise, you will take turns playing the role of an MI-6 agent, who along with your partner in the crowd is observing a bomb-maker with the intent to capture," Bond said, indicating a man in the crowd. The burn scars on his face made it clear which of the two he was supposed to be. "However, your partner managed to raise his suspicions and he's about to flee the scene. Given that your partner is currently trying to avoid a cobra bite, it's up to you to give chase and apprehend the bomb-maker."

"Your main tools in this exercise will be your wits and your environment, but you will also be armed with one of these." Bond held up a handgun. "This is a Walther P99. Semi-automatic handgun, nine millimetre calibre, fifteen rounds in the magazine. However, given that your objective is to capture the bomb-maker alive, you are to use it only as last resort, and if you shoot anyone who is not a direct and immediate threat, you will fail the exercise."

"So, who wants to go first?"
