And once again the students were in the Danger Shop, even though it looked like a regular classroom with a TV set up in front. There was a reason, seriously. Kitty wasn't that happy to be able to program this sort of thing.

"This is our last class, and I just wanted to thank you guys for being great," Kitty said. "Hopefully you learned something, and if you didn't... Be gentle with telling me that, I'm new and my teaching ego is fragile." No, it wasn't. "Today you're going to get a minute or two to say goodbye to your bamfs, and then since it's summer and none of you are probably paying attention anyway, we're going to watch a movie about animal transformation."

She glanced back at a sound and noticed the bamfs playing around on top of the TV. "They'll be gone once you say goodbye, I swear."

Today's Danger Shop simulation looked a lot like a regular single family house, and the bamfs were looking a little more lethargic than usual. Don't get too excited, class.

"So everyone and everything gets sick and injured sometimes," Kitty began. "When you're dealing with a creature that doesn't really fit into the normal range of pets, this can be a challenge. Chances are you don't know their physiology that well, you don't know what illnesses they can and can't get, and you're probably a little limited in researching it. I highly recommend finding someone who can help, just in case, probably a vet. If they specialize in exotic animals, that might even be better."

Of course, this was coming from a girl whose pet dragon had once spent time in an actual hospital, but hey, it'd been Marvel, in the 80's. Or maybe the UK just had dragon ICU wards in their hospitals, who knew.

"If they get sick, though, a lot of the time there's nothing you can do but let it run its course. So today, you're going to be dealing with sick bamfs. Take care of them, make them feel comfortable, keep them hydrated whether they like it or not. And they're surprisingly good at the puppy dog eyes, I'm warning you now."

Today the Danger Shop was set up like a dog spa, minus the dogs. Guess what you were doing today!

"Easy class today, guys," Kitty greeted them. "All you have to do is get through bathing your bamfs. Everything you need is right there, just get them washed and dried and that's all. If you need me, I'll be over here."

Maybe recording it. Because this should be good.

When the class arrived in the Danger Shop today, they'd find themselves in the middle of a divided room. On one side was a small library with computers set up. On the other side, a kitchen. Kitty was going somewhere with this, seriously.

"And this class would be ont he care and feeding of bamfs," she began, ignoring the bamfs running around between people's legs. "Literally on the feeding part. When you have a pet who doesn't exactly fit the norm, you might end up struggling a little to figure out what you're supposed to feed them. Or, if you're taking care of someone who transformed, you might find out that they're supposed to be eating say, small rodents, or something. If you're squeamish about feeding them that- and not to judge, but you kind of should be- or if you don't want to deal with them yelling at you later about feeding them a mouse or whatever, you have to find alternatives.

"That's what you're going to be doing today. Because programming is a lot of fun, I made sure that between the books and the computers here in the library area, you should be able to find some information on what you can feed your bamf to keep them happy and healthy. I made sure to vary what information you'll find where, so there's not a rush for a certain book and everyone's not trying to get at the same food. And once you've done that, you have to find it in the kitchen- or make it, if you have to- and give it to your bamf. Easy, right? So if there aren't any questions, get to it. Oh, and Stiles, come see me after class?"

She thought she should maybe tell her class that they couldn't just cheat and order a pizza in this situation in real life, but felt like that would be a betrayal.

The students were in the Danger Shop today, where they were in what looked like a small park. Also, the bamfs were back, and poking their heads out occasionally before showing up near their pet-owners for class purposes.

"Hey, everyone. Sorry I missed last week, but I kind of got eaten by a locker? Yeah, so in case you didn't know, you can get eaten by a locker," Kitty greeted them. "Be aware. Anyway, thanks to Gert for helping out, and this week we're going to talk about communication with your pets. It's really easy to say you want this or that, and if you're in a loud room or whatever, you can gesture to get your point across and the other person can figure it out. But without human speech, or in a lot of cases, hands, it gets a lot harder for your pet to tell you what they need.

"So this week, your bamf has been programmed with one specific thing they need you to figure out. Your job is to decipher what they're telling you, and to fix the problem. The longer you go without giving them what they want, the more rambunctious they're gonna get, so there's that."

See, that. That was why it was easy for Kitty's teammates to complain when she programmed the Danger Shop for their training sessions.

Well. The teacher was stuck in a locker or something, so as TA, Gert apparently had a duty to take over in Kitty's place. She had been expecting her duties to be more along the lines of passing out worksheets rather than playing authority figure for a class full of her peers, but a job was a job.

Anyway, she had instructions, so it wasn't like this required that much authoritative creativity. Though Gert did figure that in the absence of anyone else in charge, she could bring Old Lace to class. Aw yeah.

As for the room, the setup -- cushy seats facing a projector screen -- probably gave the students a good idea of what to expect from today's 'class.'

"So, the teacher's not here," Gert said. "On account of magic lockers. Fortunately your TA knows how to put a DVD in a player, so I guess we're watching the first hour of... this thing. Woo."

She held up the box so everyone could see the brightly colored cartoon characters on the cover, then pointed the remote at the screen and hit play.

Class was taking place in the Danger Shop today, and made up to look like a normal classroom. Sure, there were reasons for not just being in a normal classroom, but the truth was that Kitty had been dying to get her hands on this room for a year and a half.

So there were cookies set out, and a little purple dragon on her arm.
