Bond sent an email to his class to meet him down at the causeway and to dress warmly. Once they were all there, he took them through a portal. Upon exiting, they'd find themselves on a beach on the verge of sunrise. It was also a fairly cold beach, hence the suggestion to dress warmly.

"Good afternoon, or morning rather," Bond said, leading them to a set of surfboards and wetsuits. "For our final class, I thought we could try some unfamiliar waters, so welcome to Bells Beach, a fairly renowned Australian surf beach." Which would explain the cold, darn axial tilt.

He went on to explain some surfing technique before clapping his hands together. "So let's get changed. It'll feel much less cold once you're in the water."

Bond had the movie tent set up again, but this time instead of being set up on teh sand, he'd managed to set it up out over the water. Iside the tent where several pool chairs, moored to a buoy. The wonders of modern engineering, people.

Once his students had managed to settle themselves in a chair, Bond began. "Now, I'm afraid there was a bit of a last minute change of plans." Clearly this whole set-up had come about at short notice, clearly. "So today you'll be watching a film. A real summer classic."

Today Bond had his class meet him down at the docks, where he was waiting at the end of the furthest out jetty. Once they were in the water, Bond began.

"Now today's exercise is inspired by a ceremony certain Orthodox Christian Churches hold during Epiphany called the Great Blessing of the Waters, which involves amongst other things, a cross being tossed into the waters and the young men all swimming to retrieve it, with the one who does so gaining blessings for himself and his family. Now I'm not religious, and as far as I know none of you are either, so rather rather than a cross you'll be retrieving this." Because a neon orange fibreglass stick was much less sacrilegious. "And instead of blessings, I'll pay off the winner's tab at Caritas."

That wasn't a particularly appropriate prize, but Bond was sure it'd provide enough motivation.

Today when Bond's students arrived at the cove, there were boards with sails attached laid out on the sand.

"Now last week you watched a movie on a surfing subculture, and logically you might expect that to be followed by surfing yourselfs, however we are lacking something rather vital to the whole affair." Bond glanced significantly at the almost flat water. "So instead you're going to be trying your hands at windsurfing instead."

He then when on to explain and demonstrate the basics of the sport. "If you think you've got the idea, grab a board and get out on the water. Once you feel confident, there's a simple course laid out with buoys for you to try to navigate."

Today there was a tent waiting on the beach. Inside the tent, was a projector. No chairs though, just beach towels.

"When engaging in various types of beach activities," Bond began. "It can be important to consider various beach cultures, as depending no your location, those local to the area may act in a hostile manner to those they consider outsiders. So today we'll be watching a film examining one particular form of beach sub-culture."

The sky was cloudy but the weather was warm enough down at Serenity Cove. Which was a good thing, considering Bond was standing waist deep in the water, holding a ball and clearly waiting for them to join him.

"Good afternoon," he began once they were in the water, tossing the ball from hand to hand. "Now you may have noticed last week that running through water requires a different kind of effort than either running normally or swimming. Today we'll be focused on developing that further as well as improving your situational awareness with a game of keep away."

He held up the ball. "Your goal is to be the one holding the ball at the end of class. Once you have possession of the ball, you must keep at least one hand on the ball at all times or you lose it and cannot try to regain it until one of your classmates has possession of it. The two who don't have the ball can use any non-powered methods short of causing physical harm to try and capture it."

"Your time starts now." He tossed the ball to the nearest student.

Bond had sent an email to his students to meet him down at Serenity Cove, and to dress appropriately. He didn't specify for what, since he did want to see if they had that much their wits about them.

"Good afternoon," he said once they'd arrived. "And welcome to class. I'd say we've got a small enough class that even if we don't already know each other's names we can figure it out easily enough, so we can dispense with the traditional introduction spiel, but I would like you to tell me how good a swimmer you are, your awareness of water safety, that kind of thing, since we're going to be working out here instead of the Danger Shop and it would be unfortunate if I ended the term with less students than I started with."

"But with that out of the way, we're going to be easing into things by getting used to the differences in terrain here to other places you might have exercises, and the best way to that is with laps." Try not to look so pleased about that, Bond. "So we'll be going from one end of the cove to the other and back, moving along the shore or the shallows as we go, until we've covered a reasonable cross-section of the beach."

He paused a moment. "Do try to avoid the jalapenos."
