Hercules, looking a little uncomfortable in his uniform, greeted his students with a smile as they filed into the classroom. Once everyone was seated, he started to distribute pencils and a... written test.

"All right, students," he said. "You will have the class period to complete these very serious, very academic, very normal tests. And when you have normally completed them, you may hand them in at my normal teacher's desk. Normally."

He nodded. "And now you may begin. I would like all of you to know that I enjoyed having you all as students. Within the normally accepted bounds of normal enjoyment. Thank you."

He sat down at his desk. As you do.

The class sadly met in a normal classroom this week, and Hercules appeared to have a movie projector at the ready.

"Next week we will have a very special final. So this week, you are going to review what we've learned. In movie form!" He laughed and turned on the projector. "Pay close attention, and remember... the class is called practical mythology. The final will be very hands-on."

He had something up his metaphorical sleeves, yes he did.

Hercules led his students into the Danger Shop once more, this time to a grassy meadow that appeared to be populated with... saddled Pegasi. The sky above them was clear and friendly, and the meadow was filled with green grass and blooming flowers.

Today Hercules' class met in a normal classroom. At each desk was a set of knitting needles and a ball of yarn. Once everyone had gathered, Hercules grinned and clapped his hands together.

The class had moved back to the Danger Shop for today. The simulation was of an ancient battlefield outside a large walled city - Troy, to be exact. And near the large gates to the city was a giant wooden horse.

It had been awhile since Hercules had properly taught the class, but he showed no embarrassment at this fact as he stood in front of the class in a normal classroom this week.

"Today we're going to discuss my least favorite mythical subject of all time," he said, starting to draw on the board with chalk. Once he finished drawing a near-child level drawing of Zeus's head, he turned around.

Hercules wasn't standing at the front of the classroom today, but Luke was. He didn't look at all at ease standing there, but he didn't plan on being up there for long.

"Yeah, okay, Hercules isn't coming in and he left a message asking me to teach something. I really don't want to know how he got my number, but that's another story," Luke started. "Anyway, I didn't really feel like preparing anything because I've been playing video games for like the last twenty-four hours and you'd be surprised at how tired that could make you. So we're having a movie day."

Luke held up his copy of the meta version of Clash of the Titans. The remake, not the old cheesy one. "So we're gonna watch a movie about this guy named Perseus---not the one in the classroom. It's all very dramatic and there's a CGI kraken in it and a hot chick playing Io."

Because that was important.

"Anyway, enjoy."

Hercules was all ready to give a great lecture this week, as the class gathered into the danger shop.

The setting was a pretty meadow, filled with flowers and butterflies and green, green grass. There were even furry woodland creatures frolicking about.

Then Hercules went to speak, and promptly turned into a pug dog.

...enjoy a teacherless class in a pretty meadow.

[ooc: Sorry! Various factors = lame class.]

Hercules was wearing sunglasses and appeared to be nursing a hangover as the class filed into the classroom.

"Movie day," he announced, appearing to wince a bit as he spoke.

He hit play on a projector, and the movie began.

Hercules thought it was, if somewhat fabricated, a good choice for the class. He was just going to go crawl under his desk, now.

Today in the Danger Shop, the students found themselves in a replica of a tall tower, in a room that was clearly a combination workshop and living quarters. Everywhere there were architectural drawings and tools, not unlike what one could imagine Leonardo Da Vinci living in, if Leonardo had been born in Ancient Greece.

Upon entering the Danger Shop today, the class found themselves in a dank, cavernous room with high stone walls that seemingly went forward... in a maze.

Hercules was not a man of subtlety. Despite not needing it at all this week, he had the class meet in the Danger Shop. Once the students entered, they'd find themselves in a replica of the Temple of Zeus in Olympia. A place long lost to decay and ruin in modern times, but this was all shining marble, dazzling gold, polished ivory. Classical decadence combined with the finest of architecture.

In front of the giant statue of Zeus was a series of plush cushions. In front of the cushions, at the feet of the statue, sat Hercules himself. He wore not the modern outfit of micro fibers and dragon skin armor plates. Today, it was back to the classics. The sash, the battle skirt, the long sandals with leather straps that went up to his thighs.

Once the class had gathered, he clapped his hands together and spoke in his booming, happy voice.

Introductions, the classical way. )

Grissom is in a shockingly jovial mood. He's even rocking a costume and has candy (without bugs) for his students. Must have some good Halloween childhood memories buried somewhere.

Criminology

Here is the study guide for your midterm exam. [it will be an 'essay question', but feel free to study/stress]

To review, in class today I would like you to discuss one thing you have learned in this class so far, and how it either surprised you, or changed your mind in regards to a certain topic. If that is not the case in any aspect, why not?

Death and Dying

Discussion: Your homework was to Choose a death by suicide from Shakespeare's work, and share a short reaction to it. Please do so.

Your midterm exam will be on Wednesday! It will be an in-class essay, in a similar vein to the homework you are turning in. Using what you have learned in class, and moving on to our accidental death chapter, please analyze A Darwin Award Winner or Honourable Mention. You may bring in notes on one 3x5 index card.
