OOC: All sections and Independent Study should comment to any course post. It feels really silly to post the same thing a couple times over.

IC:

*walks into class carrying only a large envelope*

Hello class. I trust your weekend was restful.

*She looks around and noted several hungover faces*

Or not.

Today we have only one topic and of course to turn in last week's assignment.

*She pulls out a picture from the envelope and tacks it to the board*

This is our subject for today. Harmless looking, oh yes, but deceptively so. It is a living example of how something can look one way, but then prove to be something entirely different. This is a reality to which you much get used to quickly as deception is something that you will all face in your lives if you have not already to some degree. We will discussion deception in more detail next time.

For now, I want this:

How would you realistically go into advanced negotiations with a tree that attacks people? Is it even possible? If it is, explain in detail and in real time, try to negotiate with said attack tree. If negotiations are not possible, how would you go about dealing with the tree? Then, in real time, try putting an end to the tree's reign of terror. To the victor goes the reward of a perfect core and a ride in my ship to your destination of choice.

OOC: I've been off and on sick this week. I'll be a bit more together next week as to the posting of classes and what have you.

Additionally, Amidala's classes are also available as Independent Study for scheduling conflicts.

IC:

Advanced Negotiations

Well, I trust you all have been getting along well in your other classes. It's been an interesting first week for me as well.

At this time, I am going to give you all an assignment. It will be due for the next class.

I want you to write a two page paper. Give me a specific example of when you think advanced negotiations are necessary, how you would handle it, and how you think it should NOT be handled.

I will not be accepting a late paper, barring severe injury from that strange tree that keeps trying to throw people into the lake. I've been told that someone named Vera will be looking into that problem.

As it is Friday of the first week and I want to get out and slightly wasted with Miss Sidle I think we can get out early today.

Good afternoon

I’d like to begin by getting to know the class. If you could tell me why you picked this class... "Because I had to" is not an acceptable answer. We all have choices, whether it is clear or if it is not.

I’d also like to know what you hope to learn here.

Now, we’re going to have little bit or a writing assignment here. This won’t be graded. Yes, you have to do it as it does count towards class participation. For the next class, I want you to give me a minimum of 1 page, double spaced, answer to this question:

What do I think advanced negotiations are?

We will be discussing this next week. I think this will be a good way to get a feel of where we are... and where we need to go.

Why do I get the feeling the answers will scare me right back to Naboo?

To help prevent any conflict, each course has two "sections". Simply pick one. If there is a course you still wish to take and it still conflicts, please contact me and we can try to come up with some sort of arrangement:

All classes have Independent Study available.
