To help prevent any conflict, each course has two "sections". Simply pick one. If there is a course you still wish to take and it still conflicts, please contact me and we can try to come up with some sort of arrangement:

All classes have Independent Study available.

Introduction to Political Science

An overview to the basics to several political systems. Electoral processes. Brief history of politics.

Section A: MW 9:00 AM-10:30AM
Section B: TTh 9:00 AM-10:30AM
Section C: T 3:00-5:00 PM

Governments 1

Introduction to government. The roles of elected, appointment, divine right, and rule by conquest will be discussed.

Section A: MW 10:45AM to 12:15AM
Section B: TTH 10:45AM to 12:15AM

Governments II

Supplemental to Governments I. Government in practice. This course is one of the major projects from Goverments II and can count for course credit. Students shall elect other students for govermental roles and fuction as a "real" working goverment presented with random events to be dictated by instructor. Creativity is encouraged. There are no specific meeting time, only reports to be handed to instructor by Friday at 5 PM. You will only get course credit if you complete the weekly report.

New! Diplomacy

Discussion into how to communicate with other goverments, hostile forces, peaceful forces. True events will be explored as well as created ones.

Section A: MW 1-2:30 PM
Section B: TTH 1-2:30 PM

Advanced Negotiations

For those times when diplomacy fails. Tactics, training, and discussion.

Section A: WF: 3-5
Section B: MTh: 3-5

Please sign up here or contact me.

(Edit: For clarification: The sections really don’t mean much as I will not actually be posting a class at say, 10:30AM on a Tuesday as I’m at work. We’re all spread all over the place, different time zones, etc. All sections should comment to the course, regardless of section unless a more feasible idea or suggestion is presented.)

I'd like to sign up for Section A of Governments I and Section A of Advanced Negotiations, please. There's gotta be a better system than the one that's currently working, and I look forward to learning about it from such a hot instuctor such a learned member of the Galactic Senate.

Signing up for "Advanced Negotiations", Section B.

I assume hostage negotiation and kidnapping and ransom protocol is included?

Also, will there be any field trips to embassies? And if so, what is the dress code?

[identity profile] miss-monochrome.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
>For those times when diplomacy fails.<

Oh, those are the times I'm really good at! Sign me up for section A I guess. Oh, dren, I guess that goverment thing too. A for that too, teach.

[OOC - I'm actually not sure if this conflicts with Speech 301 at 10, I dunno how long these classes are supposed to last.]

[identity profile] miss-monochrome.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. It doesn't say you need that Gov I class for Advanced Negotitions anymore. [OCC- Or I imagined that it did in the first place...] If that's true just the AN section A for me.

[identity profile] julian-lawless.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Section B of Government 1, and Section B of Advanced Negotiations. I am quite anticipating both these classes, ma'am.

[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Could I sign up for Diplomacy and Advanced Negotiations, both section A?

[identity profile] adolescent-alan.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 01:07 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] lizzy-turner.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 01:09 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] apocalypsesoon.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
My mother The principal wants me to sign up for Advanced Negotiations.

Yeah, like I'm going to ever negotiate anything.

[identity profile] jayne-serenity.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
advanced negotiations... *smirks*

[identity profile] sheldonjsands.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Advanced Negotiations for me too.

[identity profile] ihatedenmark.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
I guess I'll take Section B of Government I. I used to be a big fan of absolute monarchy, but these days everything just seems corrupt. Might as well find the system that's the least horrible.

Diplomacy Section A and Advanced Negotiations Section B would work best for me.

Does Advanced Negotiations cover when brute force and/or firearms become appropriate?

[identity profile] courier-gavin.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Signing up for Governments I/II - A and Diplomacy A.

[identity profile] deirdreofamber.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 04:47 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] 02maxwell.livejournal.com 2005-09-07 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
