Coffee and a list of vendors she needed to call about prom stuff in hand, Isabel opened the library on time.

When students arrived for class that day, they would find that desks had been replaced with seats at a long table that was filled with all sorts of . . . interesting food, such as Plomeek soup, Felada onion crisp, Laurelian pudding, Jumbo Romulan mollusk, Rokeg blood pie, and Ktarian chocolate puff, as well as drinks like Traggle nectar and Slug-o-Cola.

"An important part of extraterrestrial civilizations is, of course, their foods," Ellie said. "So today we have a little treat." Her tone was a little dubious as she eyed some of the food that seemed to be . . . moving. "We've got all kinds of foods from all sorts of non-earth cultures. Try as much as you'd like. Be brave, you might surprise yourself with what you enjoy."

The Danger Shop was set up to look like a small village. John and the Impala were parked by the sign saying "Welcome to Hamlin".

"I said last class that when dealing with something that is a little less common, the most valuable thing you can do is research. That's what today's assignment is about. You were on the road and came across a newspaper article talking about a rash of children disappearing from the village of Hamlin. There was one boy, name withheld, whose siblings disappeared, talked about a figure in the night and hearing music. That's all the information you have. And that's more than you would start with on some hunts." John smiled slightly.

"Your assignment is to pair up and find out what's happening here, what's doing it and how to stop it. You can examine the area, talk to the people, go online at the library, whatever you need to do. It's completely up to you."

The PA system turned on at some point in the late morning, with Zoe at the microphone.

"Good morning, students. After viewing some of the video feeds from this weekend, it seems that a review of school rules might be necessary. First of all, screwing around with the offices of anyone in the administration is forbidden. Period, end of story.

"Secondly, I thought that this rule would be common sense, but it seems that I was mistaken. All students must remain clothed at all times in public areas. What you wear in your own dorm rooms is your own business, and obviously, in the event of an invasion of clothes-stealing animals, this rule will become a lot more flexible. But otherwise, a full set of clothing is required, no matter how attractive you might think you and your physical assets are.

"Due to combined rule breaking, the following students will need to report to detention this weekend: Alec, Rikku, Seely Booth, Hamlet Dane, and Zero Hopeless-Savage. If you have any questions, you're free to come to my office for an explanation - as long as you show up fully dressed. Thank you."

Yuki is looking at his laptop with a murderous stare. He’s actually shaking it violently. And cursing wildly in Japanese at its blank screen. Those of the students who can understand Japanese might be finding his outbursts more than a little offensive. It’s fairly obvious that he lost a good amount of writing due to a computer crash, 30 pages to be exact.

After he notices that class is starting, he turns a sadistic grin at his class. “Well. I decided you all deserve more work. You’re all much too lazy. So on top of the 10 pages by the last class, by next week I want you to find a poem and analyze it. I don’t care about what poem it is, but you better have a page of analysis. Front and back of a sheet of paper. No typing. Computers can burn in the fiery hell they came from.”

There’s actually a few computers at the back of the room that Yuki gives a dirty stare at. “You can use the FILTH at the back of the room to find your poem and start right now. But I don’t want to hear any whining. One word about how this isn’t fair and I’ll toss the speaker straight into detention. Is that clear? Life’s not fair. Get used to it.”

He sits down heavily and looks ready to choke his laptop, if that were possible.

((Late like a late thing. Uh... it's really because I had NO clue what to do for this class to make it semi exciting... my apologies!))

Chuck walked into the room about a minute after the bell, wheeling a TV. He put his briefcase down on his desk and surveyed the class. )

El nodded as the class entered the Danger Room. "I have everything ready as you left it from last class. Continue working on your guitars, I'll be here if you need me."

[[Phone in class? Yes. But I'm leaving tomorrow for Sakura-con, and I honestly won't be around for anything heavily interactive.]]
