Okay my slightly more fashionable primates, here’s a list of students who really wowed me with their ability to wear that crap in public ingenuity. Honestly, I can’t believe you all did it. Not in a million years did I think a group of people would be gullible confidant enough to pull off a theme like Bondage Space Pirates. Thank you for the amusement Well Done. As a reward, you get another week with me.

Students who passed:
scissors__ Nice work, metal hands, nice work! I see a future in design for you.

the4thsister For blatantly using your good looks to get ahead, I salute you.

lane_drums You really went the extra mile kid. As a reward, I popped off to a planet specializing in unique pets and had them manufacture your own Bondage Space Pirate Kitty!

*Pulls cat out of the box. He’s wearing a tiny hat, eyepatch, and scarf*

He doesn’t meow, he goes “gaaaar”. Good luck!

pure_blooddraco
death_n_binky The two of you make an excellent team. I see a very fashionable future if you stick together.

persian_eunuch Something tells me you know more about bondage that most people. Something else tells me I don’t want to know anymore.

likeguidelines You could use a bit more vitamin C in your diet, but who knows pirate fashion better than the scurvy infested source?

Students who pass by the skin of their bicuspids:
sooo_cute Not only did you blow off Zaphod Beeblebrox’s class, but you had your partner turn in your assignment for you. Not good, chickie. Half of the grade in this class is earned by convincing me that the crap you’re wearing your outfit is hipper than hip. Fail to show up and present again, and you’re getting a one-way shuttle to Principal Conner’s office.

other_logan You showed up to class, planned out your design, but had you partner do your presentation. Honest mix up, especially for a human, but watch that it doesn’t happen again, or it’s off the Principal for you.

Students who are out, out, out:
connie_the_kid
avenuebcat
chosen_slayer
i_love_manolos
lovelylana

And, though it pains me...

bent_bender

You all had more time than most to show up, and you didn’t. As promised, I’ll be looking forward to turning your names into the Principal.

For those of you who passed but got stuck with flaky partners, go ahead are re-pair here. And if you wind up being the odd man out, don’t worry. You get to partner with me. Lucky, lucky.

Also, it seems that I’ve got 6 spots open in the class. As this week’s class was cancelled due to freaking Zombies, now’s a good time for new students to jump on the Beeblebrox Bandwagon. If interested, post it here. Look back in my memories for the syllabus.

Alright, I’ll see you all on Thursday. We’re going to designing something even more spectacular than last week. Don’t faint from the excitement!

[ooc: Sorry it took me so long to post a final pass/fail list. You think Zombies are bad? Try my real weekend! Things are fine now, you can all expect to see another class posted Thursday :)]

"Given the events... and the two day long after party of this weekend, today's classes are canceled. That should given anyone who hasn't finished their homework a chance. I will not allow "Zombies ate my homework" as an excuse in light of this extra time."

Professor Jerusalem looks old and cranky this morning - or as old and cranky as you can get at the ripe old age of 35. The cat is again playing beneath his desk, this time with something that it probably wouldn't pay to examine too closely.

The Professor is poking somewhat suspiciously at what looks like a perfectly ordinary sandwich.

On the screen behind him is the following message:

Announcement:

I don't want to talk about it. At all. I don't want to hear it, either. Foodstuffs of any kind and the shambling undead are both totally verboten subjects.

Instead, I want to hear about your thoughts as to the student elections - unrelated to the homework assignment. If you must gossip and chatter, let's stick to actual school business. Please.

ALSO: This professor has made it his life's work to make politicians live up to their promises or put them through an un-ending living Hell and will most likely be encouraging his students to do the same. Tomorrow we will discuss 'Monstering'. With inappropriate glee and possibly illustrations.

Methos stands in the middle of the main room of the library. The marble floor is covered with slightly soggy zombie bits. On the plus side, the flood washed away a lot of the burned zombies. On the whole... it looks like hell.

Methos shakes his head. "I'm getting too old for this."

Good morning. I'm pleased to see that you've survived the zombie infestation. Coffee and energy bars are at the back and if you need any first aid treatment, please speak up. Otherwise, don't forget to sign the roll sheet before you leave. There will be a lab on Wednesday.

Today, we will be discussing the processes of weathering.

Simply put, weathering is the breakdown and alteration of rocks and minerals at or near the Earth's surface into products that are more in equilibrium with the conditions found in this environment. Most rocks and minerals are formed deep within the Earth's crust where temperatures and pressures differ greatly from the surface. Because the physical and chemical nature of materials formed in the Earth's interior are characteristically in disequilibrium with conditions occurring on the surface. Because of this disequilbrium, these materials are easily attacked, decomposed, and eroded by various chemical and physical surface processes.

With the disappearance of our editor and a few of our staff and with the upcoming student elections and the dirt which can be dug up, campaign ad space that can be sold, corruption that can be uncovered, priceless opportunity which this creates for aspiring journalists, I feel that things need to be brought back into some sort of order.

... starting with a new student editor so I can go back to my dissolute lifestyle.

Here's the latest list of contributors that I know of, and this week's journalism homework ought to provide plenty of filler for an election publication.

Veronica Mars - [livejournal.com profile] veronicamars1 (photographer/writer)
Chloe Sullivan - [livejournal.com profile] chloe_sullivan (writer)
Phoebe Halliwell - [livejournal.com profile] future_visions (editorials/writer)
Rory Gilmore - [livejournal.com profile] rory__gilmore (fun column + writer)
Connor MacManus - [livejournal.com profile] teen_twin (entertainment writer)
Jake Gavin - [livejournal.com profile] courier_gavin (research?)
Laura Holt - [livejournal.com profile] lauraholt
Jo March - [livejournal.com profile] writer_jo (thriller serial)
Georgia Lass - [livejournal.com profile] deadlikegeorge - (columnist)

Remember, all journalism students get extra credit for belonging or contributing to this student group.

Business first - I need someone to take over Science Club. First person who wants it, gets it, or you guys will need to find a new student activity. I'm going home to Jersey today to go back to my old school.

We meet once a week, and if you wanted to run a Science Fair that would be cool. Our advisor is [livejournal.com profile] equalsmcsquared. Try not to blow the labs up, but otherwise she is very cool.

Today's experiment
Build Your Own X-Ray Machine

I stole a bunch of old radio tubes from the pirate when he wasn't looking. It pays to be scrappy.

Remember, no using your machine on unsuspecting people. X-Rays are generally not good for strong bones. Also, they may not work on everyone on campus, I'm still not familiar with the various anatomies here, but they definitely would work on gremlins. I have become very familiar with gremlins *groan*

The following students have been removed from class for non-participation: darkchylde_
The following students are in good standing: maias_notebook, whitedeathpod, call_me_red_ac, cameronmitchell, lauraholt, chloe_sullivan
The following students have excused absences, but must make up coursework: rosefern_todd, emo_knight

Your quizzes have been graded, you all did exceptionally well.

Death and Dying
The following students are in good standing: marieann_d, allie_cameron, chosenslayer_, oatmanspatient, actingltcrumpet, susan_death_, conathon, psycho_barbie, banikslaveboy, sumeragi_13
The following students have not attended in more than a week, and will be removed if they do not join discussion today. (If they are still students at all, the professor hasn't kept the best track of these things.): harried_potter, cyloninyourhead, _farmboy_, notashepard, emo_knight

DISCUSION TOPIC FOR BOTH CLASSES:
Women and Violent Crime

Women are statistically less likely to commit violent crimes, including homicide. Why do you feel this is true, or do you feel that we are studying these numbers in the wrong way?

[OOC: Class meetings may become sporadic as I am leaving the game. If a new Grissom takes over (which may happen if I puppy dog eye it correctly), please play with them. If not, classes will conclude at the end of this week, unless I hear back from the mods as to when new enrollment will be occuring, and then I will leave classes open until then. Thanks.]

Lifestyle Seminar, here today. Well, after a fashion.

I understand that there was a bit of a hoo-hah with some unexpected visitors this weekend. Shocking cock-up, the mice are furious. Anyway, I'm assuming (ahem) that this is the reason why so many essays were late, and so many more are non-existent.

I'm having an essay amnesty because of this, so I'm not going to give students a hard time if they haven't done one. Also, because there's such a lot of cleaning up to do, I'm letting this seminar stay open for tomorrow too, on a drop-in basis. Please feel free to come in and talk about sex with your fellow students talk with your fellow students about sex and I'll try to chip in if I'm here.

[OOC - Class will stay open for about the next 30 real-life hours, until I have to set up for cookery. I'm "slow-timing" it, for mundane reasons]

If someone wants to talk about ways in which sex can be used to defeat the zombie hordes, please feel free -- but don't expect any extra credit.

Now that we all know what this course will be about, roughly, it's time to become a little more familiar with your classmates.

Today is show-and-tell.

Each person will take something that they have brought today and present it to the class (no, you may not run back to the dorms to hunt for something 'cool'). Start with your name and the reason you are at this...special...school.

We are going to have a lab class on Wednesday. Any one who cannot attend will need to bring me documentation from someone more important to be excused. Zombies problems may or may not be an excused, depending on what exactly happened.

Now, who would like to go first?

Introduction to World History to 1600 (Terran)
Monday 1:00-3:00 pm

Looking rested and well, despite Seimei’s silent vigil over the dorms for the weekend until the zombie threat had passed, he unrolled the scroll containing the discussion question.

Sub-Saharan Africa, Africa south of the Sahara, is the term used to describe those countries of Africa that are not part of North Africa.

Discuss some historical or geopolitical reasonings why one continent might also be divided along the 'physical' demarcation of desert and tropics.

Turning to address the students, Seimei smiled. “Due to the events of the weekend, I’m extending the deadline for the essay question assigned on the 19th. It will be due Wednesday the 28th. As a reminder…” he gestured to the scroll still up from last Monday.

Examine Roman history and analyze the effect the Roman expansion and empire had on Rome from 509 BC to 180 AD.

Greetings my dear class. First topic for the day is attendance as it looks like my class is slimming down. In last week’s class, we were missing barefoot_tahiri, cyloninyourhead, magitekboy, pyramid_is_life and radekzelenka. I need to know if these ladies and gentlemen are still interesting in learning cyborg theory. Also, I have heard rumors of some of you transferring out of Fandom High and I would like to know your status as soon as possible.

I’m going to call roll, please respond when you hear your name.

roster )

Also, homework has been lax. I received answers to my question on the Matrix from Kawalsky (A-), Anakin (A+) and Beka (A+). I would so like to not fail all of you mid-semester.

I think that the manager of the local market will pitch a fit if I show up there requesting lemons and other items one more time today.

If anyone needs decomp formula, I have extra bottles.

Anyway, this is the open lab for my classes. If you have missed any assignments, labs or exams, now would be a good time to make up the work. Tutoring is also available.

[The Doctor comes in, wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and an icepack strapped to his left shoulder. He smiles, though he looks tired.]

On account of this weekend's events, your homework is due Wednesday, and you can use this class period to ask me any questions you have ABOUT THE SUBJECT.

That is, not about my personal life, not where I learned to use a claymore, and not if I own a kilt.

East Asian History
Monday 6:00-8:00 pm

In a very good mood, Seimei glided in, Mitsumushi flitting behind him and he unrolled the scroll for the classes discussion.

The Nara period in Japanese history was marked by struggles over the throne and which of the clans would control that throne. What significant event occurred in 795 and what was measures were instituted in order to quiet these disturbances? Was it successful and if so, how?

“Due to the events of the weekend, I’m extending the deadline for the essay question assigned on the 19th. It will be due Thursday the 29th. As a reminder…” he gestured to the scroll still up from last Monday.

Jalâlat ud-Dîn Raziyâ was the first woman to have ruled India. Discuss the reforms she implemented during her brief rule and what factors were key in her eventual overthrow.

Fencing Club

Welcome to the first meeting of the fencing club, or the place where we train you to fight off the next invasion of the undead forces. Edward was unable to be here tonight, so I hope that he is off hunting for equipment for those who do not have their own.

I suppose that everyone has been instructed in different styles of swordfighting, so adjustments will have to be made. Suit up and find a partner to practice some basic back-and-forth sparring with. And endeavor not to wound your partner; it would be better to save that for the next wave of supernatural attackers.
[identity profile] game-of-you.livejournal.com
Good morning, class. I'm glad to see you all survived the weekend. If you are having trouble with residual nightmares feel free to see me during my office hours. Or speak to the school counselor--she's quite good at what she does.

The first in-class presentations will be Friday. I would like three volunteers per class. Remember it needs be only five minutes long.

I would like to do another movie day this Friday as well, but I feel after this weekend my choice of Raise the Red Lantern would be too . . . depressing. So we will be watching the undubbed version of Spirited Away instead. I particularly expect the Asian languages students to attend. The purpose of movie days is to hear your languages in context, so if you're not able to attend it won't affect your grade. But do try to see undubbed foreign films during the semester. It will help.

Your first exams will be in two weeks.
