[OOC: Massive thanks to [livejournal.com profile] a_phale for the text and links. This kind of insanity needs people to feed it. Class Info Post.]

*There is nothing odd about Tick this morning. Well, he is sitting at a desk that he had never acknowledged before. That's kind of weird. And he is playing with some kind of remote control with an intense look of concentration on his face. That's pretty weird. And there's a strange droid passing out text books as students enter the class. That's... Well, it's probably not expected.

The droid looks vaguely like Tick as drawn by a stick-figure artist, only less blue, rustier, and held together by duct tape, Elmer's glue, and rubber bands. There is no reasonable explanation for how this thing is working at all. Just attribute it to luck or the Force or something. And probably lean away from it, just in case the loose wires, sparks, and sizzling noises amount to anything worse. Tick looks up from the controls.*

Welcome, class! Today we will be discussing a text provided to us by Mr. Phale in town.

Spider is obviously absent today, although there are growling noises from beneath the desk which indicate that the cat is present. The newsfeeds are all silent and the note scrawled across the screen behind his desk reads:

Due to Electronic Difficulties, today's class on Monstering has been delayed until tomorrow. As the Interns have failed in their latest task, we will not be preparing for a field trip on Wednesday, either.

For those of you interested in a class project in learning to work together under somewhat pressing circumstances, please indicate that beside your name on today's roster and be sure your permission slips are turned in and in order. Friday, provided the Interns have finished their little errand, we'll be going on a field trip.

In the meantime, please concentrate on your homework assignment.

Good day, everyone. *glancing out over the class* For those of you who managed to avoid the zombies, good job. And those of you who actively fought the zombies now have extra credit. Decomp formula is in the back if needed.

Today we will begin talking about DNA in the forensic sense.

Any type of organism can be identified by examination of DNA sequences unique to that species. Identifying individuals within a species is less precise at this time, although when DNA sequencing technologies progress farther, direct comparison of very large DNA segments, and possibly even whole genomes, will become feasible and practical and will allow precise individual identification.

To identify individuals, forensic scientists scan 13 DNA regions that vary from person to person and use the data to create a DNA profile of that individual (sometimes called a DNA fingerprint). There is an extremely small chance that another person has the same DNA profile for a particular set of regions.

Welcome class.

We will spend this class and next on Pet Care as several of you expressed interest. Of course, I refrain from keeping animals myself because cat hair on the chaise lounge makes Bree go cRaZy but learning pet care is an important part of keep a clean, sanitary, welcoming home.

As they seem to be popular, we'll spend today discussing gremlins.

Did you know there are monkey gremlins? How adorable. But these gremlins, like ours, are not meant for domestication, so if you decide to keep a gremlin as a pet follow these steps.

- They are aggresive and bite! Make sure they have their proper shots, you keep their mouths clean, and that they are secured in another location when you have guests so they don't take off anyone's nose.
- They tend to throw their poo-poo, so cover all valuable furniture and have a mop, bucket, and an economy-sized handle of bleach available at all times.
- Follow leash laws
- They shed. I would suggest shaving your gremlin. If he gets cold, I can knit him a little sweater for you.
- You may have seen those hilarious little smoking chimps at the zoo, but do not give your gremlin cigarettes or he may set you or your hand-crafted curtains on fire.

Feel free to discuss gremlin care with your classmates, and if you'd like to see another animal covered next class, please suggest away! Oh, and take a snickerdoodle before you leave!

[OOC: I'll be running classes until new teachers arrive and you can find a new class :) Not like I have anything better to do.]

On the bad side... there's a swath of clean floor. Beyond that, zombie bits have dried to a crusty film. Ew.

Note pinned directly to the center of [livejournal.com profile] principalconnor's office door:

Principal Connor,

We need to have a meeting at your earliest convenience to discuss the following issues:

2. New teaching staff and the application process for same.

3. The movement of several students/townies/teachers to different positions - laterally.

4. The new adoption community and encouraging the use of it.

5. Updating the 'taken' character list and the list of staff.

6. Meeting with administrative staff applicants.

7. Whether or not we both carry weapons to Homecoming openly and whether or not riot gear is appropriate with formal wear.

7. Discussion of Town Map.

8. New business (ie affiliate community, clothing concept, etc)

9. Discussion of next student enrollment.

Oblidgingly,

Tuesday 12:30-3:30 pm

Seimei enters the classroom giving the current students a sharp eyed gaze before smiling. He glided over to unroll the discussion question scroll.

Discuss the importance of the Twelve Tables of the Roman law and its impact on western civil and criminal law.

“A reminder you still have an essay question due on Thursday. You have plenty of time to get it in, no extension granted,” and he gestured to the scroll still up from last Tuesday.

One salient feature of Herodotus’ narrative is his extensive treatment of non-Greek customs and religion. By analyzing particular examples, examine whether Herodotus portrays non-Greeks in a favorable or unfavorable way.

Seimei was sitting at his table when class started. The blue butterfly flitted around the classroom to draw attention to the scroll stretched across the front of the blackboard.

Discussion question –

The Japanese at the Heian court began to develop a culture independent of the Chinese culture that had formed the cultural life of imperial Japan up until that point. Name two developments that came from this cultural independence.

I'm glad to see you all look mostly recovered from the events of this weekend.

Today we're going to go over chapter three of the textbook. If you didn't get the chance to read, I will allow amnesty this week. My teacher's edition is currently imbedded in what used to be my pizza delivery guy.

*laments not getting the pizza*

Today's homework will be the review questions in chapter four. You will not have to turn it in, writing in your notebooks is enough, but be ready to be called on.

Questions?

(Apologes for being MIA yesterday. It would have been timed runs and drills designed to assess fitness levels.)

The class today focuses on aerobics drills that bear no little resemblance to combat forms. More kick boxing than dance.

A table outside the gym holds a sign up sheet for gymnastics practice once a week, as well as another for track, and tai chi.
