Ziva was feeling very studied out when it came to her citizenship exam, so she'd brought a regular book to study hall instead this week. It had been on one of the recommended shelves at the book store, and didn't look like a stealthy romance novel; that was all she needed to be satisfied enough to check it out.

Once the library was set up for the day, Sam planted himself at the desk with a notebook, and got back to writing down everything he could remember from the weekend. Sure, his dad had said there was nothing to worry about, but that was what he always said, like it ever had a chance of convincing Sam to leave everything in his dad's hands. If there was even the slightest chance that this whole destiny thing with Lucifer was true, he needed to be ready to stop it...or to make sure people like Dean and Peter knew what to do if he couldn't.

"Today," Nick started, watching his students pile in, "we'll be dealing with alchemy. Now, as alchemy isn't anything that really requires study, per se, and I'm sure you all have some idea of what it might be about" though he started passing out handouts on the subject, I'd like this to be more of a discussion class."

Drake...may have had a personal interest in the lecture for today.

"Today we're going to talk about how the course of true love doesn't always run smoothly," he said as class began. "Often because of...the jackass, someone who stands in the way of love until you get a bulldozer and mow him or her down. For an example, here's Clash of the Titans." He snapped his fingers to start playing some clips.

"OK, so the king of Argos, Acrisius, learns of a prophecy that he'll die if his daughter, Danaƫ, has a son. So he locks her up rather than teaching her the finer points of birth control. Despite this, she catches Zeus's eye, and he drops into her lap in a shower of gold and knocks her up, because the Greek gods have really kinky sex games." He paused. "I'm not sure if Aphrodite will agree or disagree with that, actually.

"So Acrisius decides to off his daughter and her newborn son, which pisses off Zeus, who orders Poseidon to...wait for it, wait for it...RELEASE THE KRAKEN. Argos gets destroyed, and Danaƫ and baby Perseus end up safely in Seriphos. But that's just the beginning of the story. So there's this jackass, Calibos, who likes to hunt and kill animals, including those sacred to Zeus. Calibos didn't study his history so he apparently doesn't realize that pissing off Zeus is a bad plan, but instead of getting Kraken on his ass, Zeus turns Calibos into a monster. But Calibos's mom is a goddess, Thetis, who gets upset because her son was supposed to marry the Princess Andromeda, so she decrees if Calibos can't marry her, no man shall. She sets up a bunch of tests to deter anyone from winning Andromeda's hand, but a grown-up Perseus manages to pass all of them because he totes has the hots for Andromeda and the gods on his side. Fortunately, Andromeda likes Persesus, too, but their marriage gets interrupted when Andie's mom, Cassiopeia, compares her beauty to Thetis herself. See cranky gods, above. So now Perseus has to do a bunch more stuff to be able to save Andromeda from THE KRAKEN. And along the way he has to deal with Calibos, who is all grr argh Andromeda is mine, never mind that she thinks he's a jackass. And hero that he is, Perseus kicks Calibos's ass and saves the princess.

"So what's the point of this lecture? Sometimes a jackass will stand in the way of love, but you can't let them stop you. They're going to throw obstacles in your path, like wealth and power and social status and icebergs, but love is worth fighting for, and don't let the bastards get you down. Love who you want, and don't let anyone tell you differently, unless they've filed a restraining order, and then you might want to reconsider."

"I hope you all got through the weekend relatively unscathed," Paige said, once the students had arrived in the Danger Shop. "And I hope you found time to do your homework assignment."

It wasn't like she would be mad if they didn't though.

"If you'll pass in your spells, I'll program a simulation for you to test it out."

Sirius had remembered to wear gloves this time in his quest, so a very unbitten and quite smug teacher was standing before them with a smile on his face and a gremlin in a cage.

"I'm certain some of you have already recognized this," he began, "but for those of you who are unobservant, this is a Fandom gremlin, not to be mistaken for the gremlins that tried to kill us some time back."

"Many of you have had experience with these delightful little creatures," Remus continued, patting the cage with his own gloved hand and smiling smugly at Sirius. "While they're not exactly dark creatures so much as vermin, they're certainly annoying, aren't they?"

"Very," Sirius said with some venom. "Where they find the costumes for you to wear is a mystery for the ages, so don't try to figure that out. Today's assignment is for you to sketch out a picture of the gremlin--wear gloves as you approach if you don't feel like getting bit and looking like an idiot in front of your classmates for the period--and to list three gremlin bite transformations you have either heard of, experienced personally, or hope happen to someone you don't care for."

"'M sorry there weren't practice last week," George apologised once everyone had their skates on and was on the ice.  "Kyle an' me got stuck, and we didn' get back t' th'school in time."  For once, even though it was Fandom, he was not speaking literally.  "We'll have an extra practice some week so it'll all work out."

"We're goin' t'be workin' on passin' today.  I know tisn't as sexy as shootin', but if ye can dodge a pass, you can shoot a ball pass up th'ice, ye can get t' th'point of shootin'.  Passin' maks it a team game.  Tisn't jus' one lad skatin' all th' way up th' ice and scoring.  Ye have t'be trustin' where yer lads are all th'time."

He gestured over to the row of sticks.  "Everyone grab one an' find a partner or two.  Ye want t'work on bein' as accurate as possible at gettin' th' puck t'th'man -" he glanced at Alice if she was there "-or lass.  Gotta have th'right amount of power too or it'll bounce off their stick and over t'other team."

"If no one has any questions, go to then."
