"Welcome back, class," Paige said. "I hope you all had an enjoyable spring break. Before break, we learned about making potions. In my world, sometimes a potion isn't enough to vanquish an evil being. Sometimes you also need a spell. Or, there are also times when you only need a spell."

She took a moment to pass out some handouts that listed basic information about spells and a few simple spells that she didn't think would cause any trouble. "If I find out any of you are using these spells outside of class for personal gain or to harm your fellow students, there will be trouble," she warned.

"Sometimes you need a very specific spell," she explained. "And sometimes just a few lines of rhyming verse made up on the spot will suffice. Spells are also used in a variety of other ways, not just for vanquishing evil."

Paige walked over to the whiteboard and wrote out a list of words. "Today we're going to play a word game. I want you to come up with words that rhyme with each other. It doesn't have to be a perfect rhyme, just close enough. You can use any word you want, but I put up a list to get you started. Work in pairs or in groups, whatever you want."

She smiled. "I'm also giving you homework. I want you to write a spell to vanquish a demon that you make up yourself. Next week we'll meet in the Danger Shop and I'll program it so you can try out your spells."

Ziva had greatly enjoyed the trip to the Bahamas, but it was time to be back to work, and that meant it was time to get back to studying for her citizenship exam as well. Her reading material for the day was a book about the Declaration of Independence, and Ziva had to admit, she understood now why children complained so much about studying history. She would much rather have been studying up on weapon advancements, or something else that was equally interesting.

"Today, I'm afraid," Remus said, smiling warmly (though he was still looking a little unhealthy) as students filed in, "is to be quite the light day. I'm sure you're dreadfully disappointed. We'd simply like for you to tell us about your totally cool if it's handwavey experiences disarming one another. Where did you struggle? Was it easy to do on vacation? Where can you improve, and where did you succeed?"

"And then," Sirius replied from where he was poking at a slightly smoking DVD player with his wand, "we will watch an educational film about the Dark Arts."

Sirius hadn't found the movie to be that educational, but he had liked the tiny skirts the little witches were wearing in it.

Remus waved a hand to clear the air a bit, offering a very slight roll of his eyes for the 'educational' comment. "Don't worry about taking notes," he added dryly.

There was a shower in the front of the classroom. No, don't ask why. Just accept that Drake was stepping out of it with a towel wrapped around his waist. "Hello, ladies," he said in a deep and manly voice. "Look at your man. Now back to me. Now back at your man. Now back to me. Sadly, he isn't me. But if he stopped using lady-scented bodywash and switched to Old Spice, he could smell like he's me.

"Look down," Drake continued. "Back up." The shower vanished and Drake was standing on a boat. A shirt dropped around his shoulders, the towel dropped, thankfully revealing he was in a white pair of pants. "Where are you? You're on a boat with the man your man could smell like. What's in your hand? Back at me. I have it. It's an oyster with two tickets to that thing you love." And indeed, in Drake's hand, he held a large oyster with a pair of tickets. "Look again. The tickets are now diamonds!" The oyster vanished, replaced by diamonds flowing out of Drake's hand.

"Anything is possible when your man smells like Old Spice and not a lady. I'm on a horse." And, indeed, the boat was gone, and Drake was astride a mighty white horse.

Was it a gremlin bite? Maybe, but with Drake, who knew? He snapped his fingers, conjuring the projector, which began to play clips from a movie. "Look at the movie. Now back to me. Sometimes people settle for something that isn't love, because they can't see that love is right in front of them, like in this movie, The Wedding Singer. Look at Robbie. Now back to me. Robbie switched to Old Spice, but Julia was engaged to Glenn, who used a lady-scented bodywash. Glenn is a jackass, but Robbie thinks Julia loves him, and he doesn't think he's good enough for her anyway. But she doesn't really love him, because he doesn't smell like me. But Robbie does, and this gives him the confidence to serenade Julia and win her love, because anything is possible when you smell like Old Spice. Billy Idol gets it. Do you?"

"My apologies," he said to his class as they walked in, "for being absent the other week. I'm sorry to say that I was unable to come in."

As he'd overslept and then been unable to go out to get to the school building.

"But today, we're doing Chinese medicine. I'm sure some of you are familiar with parts of it, or you've at least heard of it. And some of this... it's hard to call it 'history' as people are still using these concepts and these treatments today all over the world. Acupuncture, acupressure, herbal remedies... a great deal of it has seeped into our understanding of medicine. Let's dig into the basics, however, shall we?"

Wherein Nick did not kill an acupuncturists mother, no, really, it was LaCroix, not that I can blame the kid for trying to remember THAT face. )

As much as Sam hadn't wanted to let Peter go back to New York, he couldn't keep him in Fandom if it meant keeping him away from Nathan. Still, as worried as he was, and as often as he checked his phone to see if Peter had texted him or left a message, Sam probably looked happier than he had in ages. Surely the apocalypse was coming.
