When the class walked in that morning there was no teacher. None. Zip. Zero.

Niet.

Nada.

(I could go on like that forever.)

But, thankfully, he would not. Instead there was a bright flash of light and--

There was a bunch of candy, pizza and other moddable snacks around the room today. Marshall had already had already dug in, judging from the pizza sauce on his face.

"So today's the last day of class. I hate teaching on the last day of class because, one, I'm going to miss you guys and, two, I'm already distracted by not having to work for a whole week. So we'll make this quick," he said. "As I'm sure you've realized by now you can't really learn about relationships from a class. It's something you have to learn on your own through experiences. I can help give you tips on good decision making but I can't be at your side when real trouble shows up. All I can say is that if you use your head and your heart then you'll be fine. And don't expect every relationship to work out. Sometimes they don't. That doesn't mean you screwed up. It just meant that you weren't meant to be together."

"Okay, enough with that crap, let's eat pizza and watch TV," he said. "I brought the greatest movie ever for us to watch."

Sam was tempted to skip out on the library today and explore the island's new location, but in the end, he figured he had all week to do that, and he didn't want anyone to get worried because he wasn't where they would assume he should be.

The students should have gotten a handwaved notice to dress nicely and meet at the Causeway, where they were met by a large portal and a disgruntled looking Ghanima.

If you thought you heard her muttering nasty things in a variety of languages regarding "stupid brothers," "stupid Spacing Guild," "damned stubborn Naibs with more pride than sense," "crazy detectives," or "never taking Faith Lehane anywhere ever again," well, you might not be wrong.

"Right."  Reaching inside her coat, Ghanima retrieved a deck of the Dune Tarot and fanned the cards at them.  "Step right up, and ask me what today holds for you.  Through there -" she gestured at the portal with the cards,  " - is Monaco.  Home to some of the most wonderful casinos this Earth holds.  Your mission is to take the future I forsee, and try to beat it.  If I tell you that you are destined to win big, sit outside and give away money.  If I say you fail, go cheat the casino by whatever means you choose.  The one rule is not to get caught, because I am not paying for bail.  I want to see how many of you manage to flaunt destiny."

"After all," she grinned humorlessly, flipping up the Hanged Man with ease.  "Navigating the future is a family talent.  Who wants to try and beat the oracular Atreides?"

[OOC:  Please to be waiting for the OCD DONE!  Feel free to tag me ooc if there's a future you want Ghani to give your student!  Otherwise, it will be randomized.]

After a day spent not knowing when was when and what was where, the island had had quite enough. Of everything. If the island had possessed back teeth, it would have been fed up to them.

It took some doing to get the machinery under the school working, what with the weird Bermuda Triangle effect going on, but with perseverance and a nicely timed electric surge, it started to hum.

The island blinked out of existence.

There was a moment of hesitation as a million and one possibilities were flicked through and discarded, and then it blinked back into the world.

It was a precision movement, the island nestling next to a tiny island, so perfectly close together it was as if they had become one *cue cheesy romantic music*. Islands couldn't sigh with content, but the machinery shut itself down with a quiet purr.

This bit of ocean wasn't quite its old home, but it was close, and it stretched out the Causeway to touch both the land next to it, and the small piece of land that was part of it, even if it was far away.

Fandom Island had a new home: Welcome to Maryland!

“Good morning class,” Juli said mildly, as she and Lulu called the class to order. “Today’s shall be a busy one, I’m afraid.”

They were at the beach, and though Juli had not come in her swimsuit, the children had still been ordered to, and Lulu was wearing hers. There were basket-making rushes, reeds, and frames laid out neatly on tables just off to one side. She spared them a glance before beginning to talk again.

“Today you will each be attempting, under our supervision," Lulu said, "to, yes, weave a basket underwater. You will need all of the skills that have been covered so far in this workshop. Yes, this exercise is rated rather more on your willingness to try, and determination in attempting to combine all of the skills together, than how well you actually manage to weave a basket underwater, but we'd like you to try anyway.”

Juli smiled. “After your attempts you are all required to answer a question. Multi-tasking is an incredibly vital skill in the world that you live in today—each and everyone of you have spent the last weeks learning various skills and how to use them at the same time. How, then, would you say you can apply the act of combining skills and doing more than one thing at once outside of this class, and further on into your life?”

“First though, basket weaving.”

As Juli and Lulu's students finished up their class discussion, Lulu smiled at them. "And now," she said, "for any of you who don't have to run off to another workshop, we invite you to stay around and join us for... a bit of a beach party."

[Wait for the OCD is up!]
