Rory bustled into the library a bit sleepily, and took her place behind the desk with her massive cup of coffee and her reading for Literature for the week.

"Buenos tardes, clase," El said his class filed into the dance room. "Today we will be practicing a particular favorite dance of mine, the salsa."

"Now, there are many arguements as to where exactly salsa originated, but I will share with you my own personal opinion."

El pointed downwards. "Here. In America. In New York City somewhat further north of here as a result of the mixing and combining of the various dances of Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the variety of other Latin Cultures that lived there. That, to me, sounds like a truely, and uniquely, American dance.

"Salsa itself is similar to the tango in that is rather freeform, fast paced, and energetic. However, unlike Tango, there are no truely strict rules to Salsa, it all depends on the style you choose. Nadia, if you would please come join me, we will teach you as much as we can."

After practicing with Nadia and letting her re-join her friends, El walked over to his guitar case and, as usual, pulled out his guitar. "Before we begin, I want to see if any of you are at all worried about the upcoming dance tomorrow? You are all excellent dancers and should have nothing to worry about, in regards to either slow or fast dancing. In fact, your homework is to dance at more than half of the songs at the dance tomorrow. Assuming, of course, that you attend."

Once again, Seely leant against the desk in the Ethics classroom.

"Right, gentlemen," he said, clapping his hands together. "I'm hoping that this meeting will be as successful as last week's. So grab a slice and let's get started."

[ooc: wait for ocd It's up! Post away!]

As usual, Vader stomped into the classroom exactly on time and slammed the door behind him.

The door was looking like it had seen better days.

"There was a rebel who was captured recently," Vader began, "who possessed knowledge about where the headquarters of her wrong-headed and illegal organization was hiding. After extensive interrogation--which is next week's lesson and not this one--it was decided that extreme measures must be taken to get her to reveal her information."

Vader paused, the only sound in the room his ventilation unit.

"So we destroyed her home planet from space."

Vader paced in front of his desk, his black cape sweeping out behind him. "Today's question is not 'was that excessive' because I don't care, but how far would you go in order to get what you want. This is different from the question earlier this semester. I do not want your emotions to play a part in your calculations. This isn't to save someone you love. This is to do your job, to salvage your pride, to make sure others know you being absolutely serious."

The tea and coffee were there today as was a plate of neatly sliced fruits, cheese and chocolates. Wilson is already sitting on the front of the desk, his right arm still bound by the sling against his body and while his expression is a little wan he definitely seems more his old self than he did this time last week.

As soon as the students have had a chance to sign in and take their seats, he gives them a smile and gets started.

Honor leaned against the edge of the desk at the front of the classroom as the students filed in, half-standing, half-sitting. She wore civvies today -- khakis and a fitted tee, her long hair hanging free around her face. Her left arm seemed permanently bent at the elbow and she held it close in to her body; it didn't seem to move at all, even as she did. Strangely, Nimitz was nowhere to be seen today, and her bodyguard, Andrew LaFollet hovered in the background.

'All right, everyone, please come in and take your seats...' )

"Your assignment for next week is to review the Declaration of Independence. Come prepared with a question on the material to pose to your classmates...and be sure to pay close attention to the charges the Continental Congress levels at King George.

"Class dismissed."

[Once again, I am stuck posting by e-mail. If the first person to sign in would establish the "Sign In" thread, and the first person to respond to the discussion would establish the "Discussion" thread, I would appreciate it. If you feel the need, you can also set up a "Sidebar" thread, for all those little off-topic comments between yourselves. I'll handle the after class stuff when I get home this evening. Thanks, guys!]

One nice thing about doing simulations here, John mused as he punched his request into the controls, was that if you had a student who needed a makeup assignment, you didn't have to start over from scratch. The computer stored all the parameters so it was simple as hitting a few buttons.

The senario from last week's hunting class soon filled the room, and John leaned back against the simulation of his Impala to wait for the two students to show up.

Rory was seated in the back with her laptop as usual, and there were, naturally, pastries and coffee.

Anyone with a need to talk to her could do so; otherwise, the journalism resources were there to be used.

"Good afternoon, students. I am happy to announce that the following students have been nominated to the Homecoming court:

Nominees under the cut because I'm kind to flists )

"Tomorrow at the dance, you will be able to vote for one boy and one girl from each class, and the winners will be announced later that evening. Congratulations to everyone who's been nominated."

[As a reminder, the in-game voting will be done at the dance tomorrow, but this announcement is to make sure that people know in-game who's been nominated now, and to make sure you don't miss the link to vote now.]

"Good afternoon, class!"

Bounce, bounce, pirouette, twirl! Today's outfit - octopi!

"Rain!" she announced. "It's a fascinating display of science! Did you know that water is the only substance to occur in all three states - liquid, solid, and gas - in nature? I know that it's been a bit drizzly the last few days, which has given me the most wonderful idea for a field trip!"

The students should know what's coming when her dangling encephalopod earrings start to glow.

"Everyone to the bus!"

[[Sorry for the lateish post, LJ died on me right when it was finished. Interaction with me is going to be a bit limited. OCD coming up, please use the threads to react to what's going on and to each other. Anyone have a big problem with this much swimming, ping me on AIM and we'll work something out - don't worry, Ranma, the water is all cold.]]

The island may have gone grayscale and period, but the Doctor... was grayscale and wearing the same outfit he wore everyday. Really, he'd be wearing that outfit no matter what the time period. Not even strange physics altering changes would get him out of the jacket and jumper.

As people filtered into the classroom, the Doctor pointed at the bin in front of his desks for the essays he asked for last week. After everyone got settled he passed out two handouts, One on Zygons and the other on the Rutan Host.

"If I thought I could hold your attention on the morning before the big Homecoming dance, I'd be a fool. But if you'd like to humor me, glance over the packets and pair up. Discuss what you'd do to see if people you knew were secretly evil aliens in disguise. Tests, that sort of thing. Devise a stratagem."

"Or, on the other hand, gossip about dresses or brag about your dates. I'll be sitting here at my desk, playing with my little plastic cowboys and unfortunately stereotyped Native Americans."

[ooc: Low key day for a busy RP day for everyone at much more important stuff. Please wait for minimal OCD OCD up. Have at it. Or just sign in and go RP at the dance :-D.]

Friday, October 6, Second Period

The room is arranged in a combined of big, extremely comfortable looking armchairs and piles of large, also comfortable looking cushions and pillows. The lights are dimmer than usual, there is the faintest hint of a scent, as if of fresh spring air, and very soft music is playing.

Follow me to the rest of class )

[ooc: As the professor says, this is an entirely voluntary lab exercise. If your character is absolutely dead set against trying it, just let him know. Anyone not participating might be asked to help monitor the others. If you do dream, and you want something to happen, please ping me in the OOC thread so I know to keep watch on your character specifically. Please wait for OCD threads are up. Have at!]
