Today there was a pile of bandages and... Hello Kitty bandaids. Because those would help in sword related injuries.

True story.

Cut for Skywalker-ish injuries )

Ziva had been mostly ignoring her father's e-mails during her time in Fandom, but this week, she decided to bite the bullet and finally read them all. That turned out to be a very bad idea, and when she realized that she was venting her anger through terrifying Danger Shop programming, she set her plans aside and got a TV and VCR for class instead.

"Good morning," she said. "We are going to be watching a movie today about teenage driving, and the dangers of being on the road when one is unprepared. Your assignment for today is to enjoy the movie, and then come up with five things teenage drivers should refrain from doing in order to be safe drivers." She hit play, and got settled in the back of the room to try to watch and calm down too.

There were two options, as far as Dinah was concerned, when you were having a crappy week: dance and throw a party. Or find someone to beat up. Option #2 was currently being explored.

crimeseen:... so that's all Raven told me about him.
willschoolyou: I know I've heard about this church before.
willschoolyou: Hang on. Let me do a search.

Dinah was now trying to find out how many times she could spin her chair before Barbara got back to her.

Once again, Summer had her laptop in the front of the room with pictures of sea life cycling through on the board behind her. They were from some of NUMA's expeditions.

What happens when there's little to no light in the depths of the ocean? )

Summer passed out a sheet containing articles and links to check out. "There's no plant life in those regions and yet, large marine mammals -- such as the sperm whale, can dive down to these depths in search of food. It really is amazing." She'd have to thank her brother for the photos.

[OOC: Wait for the OCD is a go!]

As soon as Sam got to the library today, he headed for the stacks to try to find more books on demons that could explain things for him and Andy. It was hard to imagine that there were books he hadn't read yet, but it was still worth a good search.

"Today," Miss Bennet said, clasping her hands behind her back, "is our last class before fall break, which means that we are midway through term. Thus far, we have been focusing on flaws in logical thinking; for the second half of the semester, we will concentrate more on ways to build a logical argument, problem-solving, and the like. Though I daresay we will still find ourselves looking at fallacies now and again."

"Therefore. Today I should like to have a brief discussion on anything regarding the first half of term - topics you felt were useful, areas you feel were not, or matters which were unclear, where you should like some enlightenment. Then, because I am not entirely as cruel as it may seem, we will be watching a film in which twelve average citizens are to determine the fate of one young man, if they can set aside their own preconceptions long enough to see the truth. After which, I should like for us to discuss the film, and the ways in which logical arguments played a starring role."

She offered a playful smile, at the last sentence. "So perhaps I am slightly more cruel than I seem? Nonetheless, let us begin."

When the students walked into the classroom today, they'd probably notice that the lights were off and there was a TV on. "Originally we were going to have a real class but, well, it's the last day before break. So, yeah."

"Anyway, we're going to stick with the 'movies that are so horribly inaccurate that it's really funny' theme. So sit back and enjoy The Jingoist. And just remember, the American Revolution wasn't actually like this. If you want to know what it was really like, either hit up Wikipedia or take a serious history class sometime."

"All right, settled down," no, he didn't care if they were settled already. "The Fridays got all messed up with Parents' Weekend and Fall Break and Homecoming, so I've gathered you all together this particular Friday to nail down some details." A pause.

"Or just to discuss how to best facilitate nailing during the Homecoming dance." Whichever.

"So, short people and Sam, Parents' Weekend was a big hit and I'd congratulate you and buy a round of drinks, but we've got thematic work to do!"

The crayons were back out, along with plain paper. "Today we're going to watch a movie about an art museum," Steve said. "The movie's mostly geared to children, but I'm sure we can enjoy it as well. I'm not going to dim the lights, so if you'd like to draw during the movie you're welcome to, and if you'd like to work with some other materials just let me know and we'll see what we can find in the supply closet." He did try to be helpful.
