"It's your final, you know what you're doing. If you don't know what you're doing, I have something picked out just for you. Your deadline is at the end of the class period, write on whatever subject you chose. Claire, you chose photography. Give me your photos and go on your next photo assignment: Students taking their finals. And look at this, we have a room full of people for you to pester with a camera!" Jonah grinned.

"This is your final lesson in this class. When you're on a tight deadline there are going to be all kinds of distractions. Maybe it's your family, maybe you're writing on a train, maybe it's somebody trying to kill you because they didn't like what you wrote, maybe it's a menace who enjoys trying to annoy you for no good reason! In this case it's a photographer taking pictures of you. (Claire, use flash.) Figure out how to deal with it and get to work!"

[OOC: Remember, if I get a couple people who actually write their articles, I'll be putting together a Journalism Class Newspaper. Handwaving is absolutely acceptable, but please give me a headline and the topic of your article.

A couple students have permission to try to disrupt the other students who are working so hard. Beware!]

For probably the last time, Ned got himself set up for cooking club. He wasn't going to let himself feel sad (though, he pretty much was sad all the time) instead, choosing to be stoic. He'd managed to do this for a full year without a freakout. He wasn't going to break that streak.

"Hey guys," he said, giving them all a little wave. "This is our last meeting for the semester and probably my last as the club's leader. So, it's a free for all. Cook, don't cook, throw food at each other, it's up to you. You've all been great this year and I'm glad you let me run this club despite many reasons that I probably shouldn't have. I hope you've all learned at least one thing and had some good food. Thanks."

He nodded and skittered away so he could remain stoic. Such a wimp.

"This is it," Tyler announced once everybody was in the classroom and sitting in their assigned pairs. "At the end of this class, history is over."

Sometimes, he thought he was funny.

"From here on out, you'll have to deal with the here and now." Well, Algren was amused, at any rate. "Marks, for example, are a relatively important chunk of the present, aren't they? Those final assignments aren't history just yet."

It was possible that this lecture was going to consist mostly of bad jokes containing the word 'history.' The students would have to cope, somehow.

"Anemone and Cal, you're up first," Tyler said, solemn. "We trust you to make history."

[OOC: Preplayed with the beautiful [livejournal.com profile] shinoi_tiger. Teams can tag in to present in any order -- the order shown is for IC purposes only. That said, uh, please don't do anything major that teams after you would have to react to unless you're the last team.]

Claudia only had one more exam and then she was freeeeeeeeeee. Oh, Lord, summer was the best time of the year ever. No classes!

Nope, no one had told her about summer workshops yet.

She skipped into the library (no easy task given the height of the heels she was wearing) and plopped down behind the counter with old copies of Entertainment Weekly. She was studying for movies class!

Well, sort of. The library was open!

She waited until everyone was in the room before she closed the door.

"My schooling was always much more regulated than what goes on here. I suppose by one standard, I should have given you an exam and tested you on everything we've learned.

"Personally, I've found practical experience is the only thing that can truly teach anything regarding magic.

"That said, I would like to know that you got something out of this class other than a few trinkets from me, so I'd like to do something a little like our first class.

"I'd like everyone to tell the rest of the class about something they learned, here or at home during some of the experiences of the semester, pertaining to our studies. It can be a matter of practical use, or a bit of information that came in handy in a tight spot. Starting with you..."

Miss Bennet smiled at her class, wondering how it was that she had finished two semesters of teaching here. "Welcome," she said. "We've a few odds and ends to collect, for our last class together. Shall we start at the beginning?"

The final was not on From Justin to Kelly. Did Ronon look that cruel? No.

Instead there was a full (and free) concession stand in the Danger Shop auditorium when students arrived and a professor standing up front with a stack of papers. "Okay, it's final exam time. You guys suffered well through last week's horror, so today there's snacks and a showing of Visitor. My team back home is a big on this one." Other than the chick who had the nightmares of Teyla's unborn child being a Wraith and ripping out of her stomach. But we could all forget her easily.

"Seniors, good luck next weekend and onward. Everybody else, I'll see you in the fall."

There were handwavy notifications of gym class taking place in the Danger Shop.

And when the students marched into the classroom today they would find that Worf was there looking rather smug.

That's because Ronon had decided to let Worf run the class today.

Yes. Today is a good day to die. )

[OCD is up!]
