Jean-Paul began the class by handing out papers and saying, "I have found assembled a list of phrases that will get across to a French speaker that you do not speak French, but are at least willing to try. In Paris, in particular, this will go a long way toward making people like you. Your assignment for today is to pair up and hold an exchange or conversation using these phrases and any other French you happen to already know." Why yes, this was a thinly veiled test to get the ones who already knew some of the language to reveal themselves. "If, in the course of these conversations, you require more vocabulary to say something in particular, please do not hesitate to ask me. Begin."

After breaking Wade out of the clinic last night, Aly had gotten a very, very good night's sleep.  Even if she was molested by the kittens the whole time.

So there was a quite happy Aly looking forward to tonight coming into Study Hall without even the pretense of work to do.  Bu coffee.  Lots and lots of coffee.

"Hey, class."

Cut for Kerrigan being Kerrigan being tl;dr. )

She was probably going to work that in every class, now. "Remember these three basics, and we'll see about moving you kids on to something that actually requires thought. Okay, kids, tell me something: what does 'resource' mean to you? How important is it in your world? And how long is it going to be until at least one of you shoots an SCV anywhere vital?"

She wasn't looking at Sokka if he was there. Not at all. Really.

As the students came in Yondaime was at the front of the class tacking up a large map of some made up world. He smiled at everyone once he was done. “Well like the syllabus promises, today you are getting your countries and naming them,” he explained. “Each country has a number corresponding to it and you’ll find out which is your country by looking at the number taped down on your desk. Also each country has a strength and a weakness and the two smallest countries have two strengths to make up for being so small.” Yondaime shrugged. “It only seemed fair.”

“As for names, the sky is the limit,” he grinned. “I don’t care if you call your country the ‘land of rainbows and glitter. Usually though a countries name reflects the country… with the exception of Greenland and Iceland, I don’t understand those ones, but I don’t think that will matter much here. Once you’ve got a name for your country you can come up and write it on the map then meet with the countries that border yours.”
