"Before we begin, I'd like to apologize for missing class last week. I was...preoccupied, which is no excuse, but there you have it. Either you've all already introduced yourselves to one another until you're sick of it, or you all live in the same dorm and have this class together, so you'll presumably get to know each other eventually, so we'll skip that and hope I learn your names quickly. This is Art History, if you're supposed to be somewhere else, go back to bed." Steve proceeded to hand out a packet with a marked map on the front page and explanations of the importance of each site on the following pages.

Student Council Meeting: Friday Lunchtime

Peter had gotten the normal pizzas and soda and set up the room for the first StuCo meeting of the new semester.

"Afternoon everyone," he said with a smile, still feeling odd heading meetings made possible by democracy.  "I don't have anything urgent on the agenda, but the February - err, the Valentine's Day dance is coming up, and we should start planning.  Last year our theme was chinchillas and nuclear holocaust.  Which went over fairly well all things considered.  Any one have any ideas for a starting point for us to develop a theme this year?"

"We're two weeks into the new term.  So perhaps we should think about some sort of way to continue to welcome the new students?  A party or free food always seems to go over well."

Karal was smiling as he arrived at the library, Altra trotting at his heels.

He unlocked the doors, made sure the librarian's office was tidy, and did a quick round to make sure everything was in order before settling in at the counter with a cup of tea and a purring Firecat.
