After breaking Wade out of the clinic last night, Aly had gotten a very, very good night's sleep. Even if she was molested by the kittens the whole time.

So there was a quite happy Aly looking forward to tonight coming into Study Hall without even the pretense of work to do. Bu coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

That large amount of coffee was being consumed at a quite speedy rate.

And now Aly was reading a novel and sipping on coffee.

Sadly all out of coffee now.

Well, luckily, Wade had coffee.

Irish coffee. So Irish it was more booze than coffee. It was fun being a borderline alcoholic.

"Whatcha doin'?"

She held her hand out for the cup. "Coffee please."

He clutched the coffee cup close. "But... Coffee... mine!"

Aly looked terribly sad. "I ran out! And here you come in with coffee like an evil person who won't share."

"How was I supposed to know that you drank all yours?"

Other than the narrative saying so.

(Shut up brain, no fourth wall breaking right now.)

"Could just give me a sip," Aly pointed out.

Wade eyed her warily. "Why do I think that'll turn into a chug?"

"Because you know what you'd do the opportunity?" Aly teased. "But I'm not you."

"...true." He handed over the coffee. "Word of warning, there's a lot of booze in there."

She took a tiny sip, tried to keep from coughing and then took another sip. "No...there's the perfect amount of booze in it."

"Now You can keep it so I can get you liquored up and take advantage of a lightweight like you later," Wade replied, taking a seat on a desk.

Aly made a face at him. "Mercy me!" she gasped. "Whatever would your husband say?"

"Probably something along the lines of 'Don't get me dragged into another prank war, Wade'. Yeah, that sounds right." He nodded soundly. "But he'd make that face where he's trying to decide if killing me would be easier than explaining why it's a bad idea."

"Ooh, I like that face," she said, taking another sip. "It's always fun to see the response."

"It is pretty adorable too."

He made a face.

"Yeah, I need some hard liquor before I sound even lass manly."

Aly handed him back the cup of coffee. "No need to sound manly around me," she teased.

He took a deep sip. "Ah yeah, that's the stuff. What are you talking about? Especially around you I have to be manly and tough and rugged and... other features..."

"Uh huh," Aly said, obviously disbelieving. "So when are we going to braid hair again?"

More coffee now. And a notebook that was being steadily filled.

Aly was starting to clean up for the end of the day. Not that it was messy really. So she was more just reading.

I don't really care if the world ends, but someone else might.
