After breaking Wade out of the clinic last night, Aly had gotten a very, very good night's sleep. Even if she was molested by the kittens the whole time.

So there was a quite happy Aly looking forward to tonight coming into Study Hall without even the pretense of work to do. Bu coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

"...true." He handed over the coffee. "Word of warning, there's a lot of booze in there."

She took a tiny sip, tried to keep from coughing and then took another sip. "No...there's the perfect amount of booze in it."

"Now You can keep it so I can get you liquored up and take advantage of a lightweight like you later," Wade replied, taking a seat on a desk.

Aly made a face at him. "Mercy me!" she gasped. "Whatever would your husband say?"

"Probably something along the lines of 'Don't get me dragged into another prank war, Wade'. Yeah, that sounds right." He nodded soundly. "But he'd make that face where he's trying to decide if killing me would be easier than explaining why it's a bad idea."

"Ooh, I like that face," she said, taking another sip. "It's always fun to see the response."

"It is pretty adorable too."

He made a face.

"Yeah, I need some hard liquor before I sound even lass manly."

Aly handed him back the cup of coffee. "No need to sound manly around me," she teased.

He took a deep sip. "Ah yeah, that's the stuff. What are you talking about? Especially around you I have to be manly and tough and rugged and... other features..."

"Uh huh," Aly said, obviously disbelieving. "So when are we going to braid hair again?"

"That," He said, taking a sip. "Is up to you, good sir."

"So that won't hurt your manly self-image?" she asked.

"As long as you get me liquored up and take advantage of me in my inebriated state..."

"Awww," Aly pouted. "But you told me I wasn't allowed to do that to you anymore."

"Not without my consent." A beat. "And less bondage. Sooo not my kink."

She giggled. "Doesn't liquoring you up and taking advantage imply that it's without consent?"

"You do know how much booze I can take before hitting the 'No totally means yes' phase, right?"

"More than I generally tend to keep in my apartment at any one time?" Aly tried. "More than my monthly salary?"

Wade paused, thinking it over. "Probably closer to the latter."

Aly made a face. "And me with cats to feed."

"They can get jobs catching mice around town! Lazy unemployed cats."

She burst out laughing. "Oh dear. Now we're going to have an influx of rodents of unusual size, and it's going to be all your fault."

"ROUS?" Wade laughed. "I don't think they exist!" A beat. "Not outside of a fireswamp, at least."

Aly looked around warily. "Yes, because Fandom isn't a haven for things and people that aren't supposed to exist outside of a certain place."

"Well, as long as I don't have to go and be mostly dead, I'm cool with rescuing you from them."
