After breaking Wade out of the clinic last night, Aly had gotten a very, very good night's sleep. Even if she was molested by the kittens the whole time.

So there was a quite happy Aly looking forward to tonight coming into Study Hall without even the pretense of work to do. Bu coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.

She giggled. "Doesn't liquoring you up and taking advantage imply that it's without consent?"

"You do know how much booze I can take before hitting the 'No totally means yes' phase, right?"

"More than I generally tend to keep in my apartment at any one time?" Aly tried. "More than my monthly salary?"

Wade paused, thinking it over. "Probably closer to the latter."

Aly made a face. "And me with cats to feed."

"They can get jobs catching mice around town! Lazy unemployed cats."

She burst out laughing. "Oh dear. Now we're going to have an influx of rodents of unusual size, and it's going to be all your fault."

"ROUS?" Wade laughed. "I don't think they exist!" A beat. "Not outside of a fireswamp, at least."

Aly looked around warily. "Yes, because Fandom isn't a haven for things and people that aren't supposed to exist outside of a certain place."

"Well, as long as I don't have to go and be mostly dead, I'm cool with rescuing you from them."

"Pfft, who says you're going to be the one rescuing me?"

Wade smirked at her. "Who here has better sword skills?"

"...So I have to be Princess Buttercup?" she sighed. "I suppose I can do that."

"Now we just need a large hill to roll down..."

"And a ship! So we can run away to it after defeating Prince Humperdinck, my fiance."

Wade might already have an idea who Humperdink would be.

Oh yeah he so did.

"Excellent plan! And we will live a life of piracy!"

"Mmm, but not the pirates with kidnapping and such. Nicer pirates."

"Pirates who don't do anything?" Wade suggested.

"Yes! We're totally the pirates who don't do anything. Other than being crazy."

"They weren't crazy!" A beat. "Just fruity. And vegetabley."

"...as long as you're not planning on turning me into a cucumber."

"Nah, you seem more like an asparagus to me."

"..."

Aly stared.

"Why?"

He was waaaay to used to that reaction.

"It's the hair, really."
