Carrying a bag full of what looked like heavy objects, Aly made her way into the classroom just as class started.  "Hey guys, change of plans.  If you all would follow me down to the Danger Shop?"

She led the class down to the Danger Shop and pushed open the door.  The room was outfitted  like a dance studio.  Mirrors, barre, sprung floor, and all.  Aly waited at the door to make sure every student got in, and none escaped once they saw what was in the room.

Shutting the door behind her, Aly made her way to the center of the room.   "Right.  This wasn't the original plan, but then the dancing on Saturday made me reconsider.  In this class, we're going to start with the most basic techniques and hopefully progress steadily towards the more complex over the course of the term.  And today, we're going to start with the most basic of all.  Movement."

"Controlled movement, complete control over each muscle is necessary to move silently, to climb well, to fight, to keep your hands steady,"  she grinned quickly.  "You get my drift, right?  It just so happens that one of the best way to work on movement control is through dancing."  And now Aly looked even more amused.  "So, that's what we're going to do today."

Aly raised an eyebrow at Teddy.  "Want to come up and help me?"  It wasn't really a question and soon Aly was reminding Teddy just to follow her lead.  They demonstrated a trio of dances that, while simple, relying on paired movement and working with your partner, not against him or her.

After the demonstration, she turned back to the class.  "There you are.  Pair up, give it a try.  If there are any questions, feel free to ask."  Aly grinned.  "And before anyone asks, yes, there are a number of other ways to train your muscles to control movement.  Martial arts is one, tai chi is one, simple repetition of movement until it's in muscle memory is one.  But I like dancing.  And you all should know how to dance anyway," she teased.

[OOC:  This class is totally all [personal profile] mouthy_merc's fault for telling me Teddy needed some embarrassment.  She also gave permission for Teddy!modding of the not dirty fashion.  Please to be waiting for the OOC is up, my friends.]

Once again, the class met at the computer lab. Mike was sitting at the front of the room, sipping his coffee as he waited for everyone to take their seats.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen," said Mike. "You can see that the computers we put together last week are still here. Today, we're going to be working with them, but first, we're going to talk about input and output."

The Nuts And Bolts Of Computing: Input/Output )

Looking over the class, Mike asked, "Is everyone with me so far? We'll be covering specific computer applications later in the semester, but for now, go ahead and explore what's already available. Before you leave, I do have a homework assignment. If you don't already have an e-mail account, go ahead and sign-up for one, then send me an e-mail. It's a very useful tool and we'll be using it to communicate assignments throughout the semester."

[Homework is handwavey, but Mike can receive e-mails here if you wish. I should be around all day with occasional SP while I run errands.]

"Today," Lulu began, after the class had come into the home ec room, "as it says on your syllabus, we're going to be studying breakfast foods. As it's still fairly early in the class, we'll focus on more basic foods -- if you'd like more advanced recipes, or even some extra instruction, feel free to see me after class and we can discuss it.

"One of the most basic breakfast foods is cold cereal -- generally, in this world at least, you buy it boxed, and simply add milk, potentially some form of sweetener, occasionally sliced fruit such as berries or bananas, or even eat it as is, straight from the box. Unfortunately for you all, you're not getting away with that today. If you'd like, you can attempt to make your own, but that's not required for today's class.

"One of the staples of breakfast -- although, indeed, it is a great food for any time, including snacks -- is the scrambled egg." Lulu demonstrated proper whisking behaviour, then took her students through the process of cooking the eggs so that they'd be able to recognise when their own were finished.

"Breakfast wouldn't be complete without bacon and toast," Lulu continued. "I will add that I added the toast 'recipe' today," and you could hear the airquotes, "because it amused me greatly -- but do try to follow it as best you can. It is helpful, for all that it seems to be frivolous.

"Your assignment today is to make a complete breakfast -- cereal, eggs, bacon, and toast. If you prefer not to make the homemade cereal, you may used boxed cereal, but everything else requires preparation.

"All of the recipes you need are at your stations. Pair up -- in different pairs than last week -- and cook away! Everything you need is available either in your stations, except for ingredients if you wish to make the cereal, or if you wish to make a variation on the scrambled eggs; for those, you can find the moddable ingredients here at the front of the class."

Lulu smiled. "As a drink, I recommend apple or orange juice, as they will help round out the meal. Coffee and hot chocolate, however, are also provided. You can find the drinks at the front of the room as well." She paused. "Feel free to drink them during the class as well."

"Last week," Juli began, once all the students had come in and settled down, "we discussed personal limits and ways to grow beyond them. Now, we move outwards onto bigger topics. Our topic for today is, perhaps, one of the most impressive natural limitations. Of all the boundaries that our various worlds share, one is constant and that one is – Death. Specifically, we will be taking a close look at resurrection."

From the beginning... )

"All things, in time, will pass," she said quietly, "it is something that we must discover over and over again – and something that will never be fully learned. Please split into groups of two and discuss the consequences of resurrection, both on personal level and on a societal whole."

"I am, as always, available after class if you have need of me."

Richie was waiting at his desk when everyone arrived, working his way through an insanely large coffee. There was a very large box of Twinkies on the front of the desk.

"Good morning," he said with a grin. "If anyone wants a Twinkie, grab one when you sign in. I, um, bought a lot of junk food this weekend, and I can't look at it anymore."

This week, we're going to talk about interviewing, )

Nathan was there, dressed in a suit and tie as usual. He passed out a packet of handouts. "Today we're going to be discussing Copyright Law. At its core, Copyright Law makes sure people get credit and/or payment for their own work. Sounds good so far, right?
But there's always a catch )

[ooc: OCD coming up! Going to bed, will pick up pings tomorrow.]
