Everyone in the class should have gotten some kind of instructions that, weather permitting, they'd be meeting at the beach each week (and the community center otherwise), so if they weren't there when class begun....oh, well. Rosa would be 100% fine if no one showed up at all, or if everyone actually ended up o on the wrong beach, because that would mean she'd just spend the period going through her own forms without anyone bothering her, and, actually, no, on second thought, could they just do that instead? That sounded nice.

But, noooo. Just like last time, people did presumably actually show up, so Rosa sighed and supposed she did still have to, ugh, teach.

Hopefully, though, like last time, it would actually be...surprisingly not that bad.

"Alright," she said, reluctantly abandoning all hopes for a nice weekly personal session on the beach that she was still going to get paid for, "I'm assuming you're all here for yoga. This is meant to be kind of a basics class for people of all abilities and experience levels, so if you're already pretty familiar with yoga, then you already know that even the simple stuff can still be helpful and beneficial, and if you're new, nothing should be so challenging that you can't wing at least a simplified version of the movements.

"So....what even is yoga? I could go into some long, detailed lecture like some people might," *cough*Blackstone*cough*, "but I'm not going to. If you're really interested in the history and philosophy and all that crap, there's a library and the internet around here so you've got resources aplenty. In this class, we're mostly going to be focusing on how yoga can be used to both relax and calm a person," suggesting that, yes, this was Rosa relaxed and calm from yoga; imagine how she'd be without her yoga!, "as well as stretch and tone and strengthen your body. There's a whole...wellness of mind and body equilibrium hippy-dippy bullshit, but that's not my style, so..."

She shrugged, like it couldn't be helped that even granola-crunching, chakra-enlightening hippies could still be right about some things, but anyway...

"But, anyway," she said. "We're going to just get started today by going over some of the basic forms you'll likely be using a lot in this class. Most classes will be just me teaching you a technique or sequence, and then spending the rest of the period practicing it and not talking and just focusing on what you're doing, which means it's one of the most perfect class concepts ever created. It worked great last year. Don't fuck it up this year. Just follow me through the basic forms for today and then we'll see how you do, and then you'll just work on them from there. That's it.

"It's yoga. It doesn't have to be complicated. In fact, that defeats the whole point."

Like quite a few other classes over the summer, Ignis' class would be meeting out of the classroom and into the great outdoors instead, although, considering his roster, as small as it may be, there was a part of him that was wondering if everyone would be better off with this class being held in the danger shop instead of out in the old campground in the preserve.

Well. Fires had been a bit more of a thing around here, lately, so at least the fire department was relatively...warmed up.

He met the students on the edge of the preserve, listening carefully for their arrive, and, when he did hear someone coming up, greeted them with a simple, "Do me a favor and introduce yourself as you arrive. It will be better for me to know when we have everyone if you do."

But it was a thankfully small class, so once everyone had informed him to their presence, he nodded, and go started. "Welcome to Camp Cooking Essentials, a survey in various techniques and equipment to allow one to still manage to make excellent and fulfilling meals even when resources are scarce. For those of you who I've not had the pleasure to meet yet, my name is Ignis Scientia, and my former position as my team's chef required me to often cook in unexpected and inconvenient places, often in very tenuous circumstances, as well. However, even if one does not plan to spend a lot of time out-of-doors, these are all still skills that can be used in every day cooking as well. And with that, let us waste no more time, and we'll get right into it.

"Today will be a simple lesson, familiarizing ourselves with your two main sources of heat for cooking when outdoors: the classic campfire," he gestured toward the empty space where there were divots in the ground for said campfires, "and a portable camp stove," he gestured toward those exact things to his other side. "For our purposes, we have two very nice ColemanTM Powerhouse Dual Fuel 2-Burner Stoves that we'll be working with because shameless product placement I have always found them to as incredibly dependable and superior in quality.

"We'll start with the campfires, and how to both safely and efficiently start one in the wild, and then we'll move onto the stove, which is much easier, but will be a little different to work with than your traditional kitchen stove. But, since this is a class about working in the field overall, we must first seek out some wood for our campfires. We will set the time at, let's say, five minutes, and when you hear the bell," at this point, he reached for a bell and rang it for demonstration, "you'll return to camp and we'll get started in earnest. Please do not get lost, although if we need to reroute this class to be one that focuses a bit more on search and rescue, then so be it."

That was...mostly...a joke.

"Alright, then. Let's begin."

The class had been told to meet in the Danger Shop, which was set up to look like a suitably foreboding landscape, with a large chasm filled with variously sized rocky platforms, separated by variously sized gaps, with a viscous fluid down below, glowing yellow and orange. At least one of your teachers was looking pretty pleased with herself.

Make that both teachers, really. Jane was bouncing on her toes in excitement to see how this went.

"It's not really lava, don't worry," Jane said before the class could even take it all in. "It's jello."

Which was only moderately better. Especially because someone had found the setting to make it real jello. You're welcome.

"But welcome to class! The object is very simple... don't fall in."

"The last person standing wins," Cara added. "Anything short of actually harming one another goes."

"Oh! And let's try it without powers this time?" Jane suggested. Helpfully.

"We'll supervise, to...keep it fair." And not because Cara had popcorn stashed away or anything like that.
