This week for their final, students had been directed to meet in the danger shop... and to bring beach gear, if they had any. And once they arrived on the beach, they'd find all sorts of things set out for them to do; a net and ball for beach volleyball, a firepit for cooking meat (or fish) over, and a cooler stocked with all sorts of non-alcoholic drinks and foods, which were most certainly more real than anything else in here.

Well. Not anything else in here. There was also the matter of the creepy animatronic display right in the middle of the beach volleyball area, spread out all the way to the firepit. Elves, penguins, stiffly-moving polar bears, all of them wearing swimsuits with varying holiday patterns on them, looking ready to surf their way to Santa's workshop.

Fjord was looking at them with some mild irritation.

"Figures, on the last day of this class and everything," he muttered.

Carter looked between Fjord and the… well, they were rather creepy, though it pained him to admit it, even to himself. He felt rather helpless, but at the same time the animatronics weren’t doing anything wrong, aside from crashing their class.

“Yes, well…” Carter shrugged a little, then glanced at their students. “Beach party today! And… well, I do hate to say it, but if any of you can get rid of our… guests… I suppose that Fjord and I might be able to find a way to pay you back.”

Fjord glanced at Carter momentarily, and then broke into a little smirk.

"An entire pizza for each student who participates in ridding the beach of the automatons," he announced. "Put some of that influence to good use, hm?"

Smash them. Fjord wanted you to smash them.

Carter hesitated for a moment there. Because, yes, he… he knew where this was leading. After that moment, though, he bowed his head and said, “As Fjord has decided. Pizza to those who aid us today.”

And he… he was just going to look the other way about this.

"Morning, class," Amaya greeted them with her usual nod, though her brow was furrowed in a distracted frown as she kept glancing over to the cluster of animatronic snowmen and reindeer clustered around a similarly automaton Santa Claus hanging out and waving at them from over by the lathe machine. She'd noticed them popping up in a few other spots on her way over to the school that morning, and, while she had a plan for today's class already, her own curiosity was starting to get the better of her.

She shook her head, blinked the thoughts back to a pocket of her brain for now, and focused her attention back to the students. "Hard to believe it, but it's our last class. For a lot of classes, this means some sort of final or exam to demonstrate that you've learned something over the course of the semester, but, honestly, the fact that you all managed to come out unscathed without any missing parts," which she felt truly was an accomplishment for some of the class...okay, specifically one member of the class, "is good enough for me. So today, I was going to let you all just have free reign of the shop, make something you'd like to make, preferably in a way to demonstrate what you liked particularly through the semester or, if there's something you've been wanting to do but we didn't get to, or a machine you wanted a hand at, we can take some time to squeeze that in, too.

"But," she added, hitching a thumb over her shoulder to their guests, "then these guys showed up. And I don't know about any of you guys, but it just seems like a waste to have 'em here and not put 'em to use. So I'll still stick with my plan to let you pursue a project of your own liking for the last day here, but I'll offer extra credit to anyone willing to see if they can take on deconstructing the automatons to see how they work, and then trying to put them back together again."

Assuming, of course, they could accomplish it all before they disappeared.

"So let's get to it," she nodded, pounding her fist into her hand, "let me know if you need anything in particular, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with by the end of the class. It's been real nice having you all on board, and I hope you managed to at least learn something you can take with you."

They were in the classroom one last time, which Brooke was actually a little sad about. Also, relieved she survived.

"It's our last class, and hipefylly you've learned some things," she began. "We're not doing a traditional final, because it feels messed up to spring that on you when I can't remember dates to save my life. So instead, you're getting a little essay to do in class. I want you to pretend you've lived a full life and get to be a topic of this class, and write what you'd want me to say about you. What have you done? What kind of accomplishments do you have under your belt? How have you helped people, or been generally awesome? Once you finish, feel free to leave and enjoy the rest of your day!"

"Okay," Vanessa said, "let's talk about Hallmark Christmas movies!" What did that have to do with anything this class was supposed to be about, you might well be wondering? Well, the answer was nothing, but look at your teachers. Look at them. What did you expect?

"We watched so many of them," Wade added, spreading his hands out as though to illustrate the amount. "And... you could learn valuable life lessons from them. Yeah. Yeah."

If it sounded like he just came up with that on the spot...

"Important life lessons like, um." Vanessa had nothing. "Well, why don't we watch some Hallmark Christmas movies, and you guys can tell us what you learned?" That sounded reasonable.

"They're better with alcohol," Wade whispered in a way that wasn't a whisper in the slightest.

"Not that we have any...for you...but if you brought your own we promise to look the other way." They were great at this teaching thing. "So...should we watch something with royalty or something with a quaint small hometown?"

Wade took a moment to dig for a coin, flip said coin, lose said coin under the desk and then just shrug. "Let's go royalty. I brought my flask."

"Royalty it is!" Vanessa declared, selecting a movie from the Netflix menu and hitting play. "Remember, watch for the life lessons!"
