So, there was strange stuff going on all around the island. There were things in the streets that she'd never seen before and they didn't look overly friendly. Paige had luckily not been affected but with the way things were looking this morning, she wasn't going to attempt anything difficult or intensive since she figured everyone would have something else on their minds.

"So, if you're here, congratulations on getting here safely," Paige said, nodding. "I won't be keeping you long unless you'd like to stay here for your own protection or to do additional research on what might be going on. Obviously, what's going on would be easiest explained by something supernatural in nature. Magic, time travel, something though I don't know what. Anyone have any ideas? Or perhaps advice for those that haven't experienced something like this before? Feel free to share."

The topic was class related and would hopefully be helpful to those who were new to the island (such as herself) and might not know how to handle something like this. The floor was open.

Library, Tuesday

Look, there was library weirdness, and then there was... whatever the hell was happening in the library today.

Not only were entire collections appearing and disappearing, sometimes in completely different languages, but there was a freaking dinosaur (a microraptor, to be exact) perched atop one of the shelves of arts and crafts books, chewing on a book of knitting patterns.

William's first idea had been to chase it into Special Collections, but that plan failed when he was unable to open the door to that section of the library. That didn't bode well at all, he mused, considering that typically, library staff were notified of any sort of intentional lockdown.

Well, he was just going to ignore the dinosaur for now, at least, as long as it was chewing on books, not people, and mark down that they needed to order a replacement copy of that particular book once all this was said and done.

"Look, anyone can see that outside isn't right right now," Kaidan said. They were in the Danger Shop. There were cushions and mattresses and soft things. He came prepared, okay?

"So instead of class, I've got some options for you today. Either you stay in here and stay safe, at least for the hour, or you stay in here and you head out there--" he pointed at an entrance into a wooded valley on the other end of the room, "... to train together. Or you go out and do something, but in that case, you're going to bring at least one of your classmates with you or stick around. Okay?"

He took a breath. "Okay."

The door to Anakin's usual classroom was closed.

It had a simple sticky-note pasted to it:

Be useful
go to the library
and do research.

... and that was all. Get to it, kids.

[[ fry has no internet, alas. also dear god, LJ, stop posting my posts to the wrong comms. and dear god, self, remember what the right date is for class. ]]

Jess Day, resident badass, stood before the class in all black with dark shades on, and speaking in a voice that sounded like she was purposely trying to lower it a few octaves.

She wasn't. This version of Jess had been a heavy smoker in the 90's. Right until they banned it in restaurants, actually.

"I'm impressed any of you actually showed up," she said, in case anyone actually had shown up. "I admire your dedicating to schooling. But I'm not going to be in here while people are suffering out there." She even pointed vaguely towards a window. "Class is dismissed. You can go research, or stay here, or you can stand and fight. Me? Well. I'll be doing the last thing."

Jess, you were not in a Steven Segal movie, why are you talking like that.
