Sholeh was doing her best to maintain a calm facade for the patrons of the library. No one was going to benefit from a panicky library aide. No, she needed to be composed, collected, and helpful. The library was where people came to figure out solutions, not see a ninny hiding under her desk with her pinafore over her head.

So Sholeh set to work, straightening the research tables and tidying the books. The ones that had been deemed useless were put away, the ones that had seemed useful were set to the side, and another armload were brought down for people to look through for clues. She taped a few sheets of paper to the circulation desk for people to make notes that everyone could read. It was all well and good for someone to have the answer written down somewhere, but it wouldn't do anyone else any good if it wasn't disseminated properly.

The flying creature that was roosting on the bookcase squawked at her several times, but a few dark glares from Evan had it quieting down. He'd been sticking to her closer than her own shadow for the past several days and with all the sharp-toothed creatures lumbering about, Sholeh couldn't quite say she minded.

And--rats! Now her nose was bleeding again. There really was no rest for the weary.

Good news, everybody! Your teacher wasn't a ballet dancer any more. He was, however, decidedly more female than usual.

"Good afternoon, class," Jemma greeted them, smiling. "Now in light of all the strangeness going on, I figured that it might be better if we just kicked back and watch something a bit interesting instead."

There was a massive black wolf at the front of the class today. This was not the biggest surprise for any students who managed to drag themselves into the school. Weird, right?

But the wolf looked majestic. Or would have if there hadn't been a pretty, pink bow on it.

THAT PRETTY PINK BOW ADDED TO THE MAJESTY AND YOU KNEW IT, DEREK.

There was no pretty princess pony at the front of class today. Was this the biggest surprise? There wasn't even a pony. There was an excessively pink, hyperactively cheerful girl who looked barely old enough to not be a student. She was adjusting the bow on the massive black wolf.

But, no. This wasn't the biggest surprise, either. The biggest surprise was that the pink girl was handing out rolling pins and butcher knives to each of the students as they came in, with the explanation that you can never be too prepared.

So. Yeah. Welcome to Fandom, kids. Hope you enjoy your stay.

The wolf, since he couldn't talk, was helpfully dragging a large bag full of blown up balloons to the spot behind the new and moderately terrifying Pinkie Pie. He was such a helpful co-teacher!

Each of the balloons were decorated with fins and horrifying little paper fangs. They were filled with happy glitter guts to go spattering when you "killed" them.

"Today's, class," Pinkie pie said, flinging her arms wide to encompass all the now floating balloons. "Target practice!"

You're welcome, students.

There was a POP from behind her and the wolf, we'll call him Derek because that's who it was, was very surprised and covered in glitter. GODDAMN IT, PINKIE.

The more things change, Derek. The more things change.

Each desk in McCoy's classroom had a card on it, with the blank side flipped upwards. McCoy wrote on the board before students started filing in to please wait to reveal cards, knowing full well that there were a few people who were going to peek. If they could keep quiet about it, though, he'd be happy.

"Today we're looking at animal bites. Each of you has a card on your desk. The card has a picture on the opposite side of a type of bite. Assume the bite appears on the calf of your partner's leg. Your job is to identify what kind of bite it is by approximations--large or small mammalian, snake, bug, it goes on. You also will need to tell your partner how to treat the bite. If it is only a skin puncture, treat it like you would any other cut. But if it is showing signs of infection, you'll have to clean it out--or in cases of venom and poison, de- elevate the infected limb below the heart. In all cases, keeping calm is key--blood flow increases with panic, and that can spread a poison quicker and cause a person to bleed out faster. Good luck!"
