Sleeping in had helped with the hangover John was feeling after the night before, but now he was in class and staring at his assembled class for the last time. He could use an aspirin.

"Well, I hear Fandom beat you up and spit you back out. But it's Monday, so we can pretend things are normal and that everyone felt like rolling out of bed for class, right? Right!" John walked over to a table with a massive spread of freshly baked sugar cookies and bowls of sprinkles, icing, and food coloring. "So, since this is finals week and it's nearing those favored winter holidays and we're in food class to top it off, I'm having you guys decorate your own sugar cookies. Who doesn't like sugar? The correct answer is 'no one worth hanging out with.' So I bought up a bunch of cookies and you're each decorating a dozen. Happy holidays, and try not to break yourselves over the New Year, okay?"

Alexander started the meeting with a bit of an awkward clearing of his throat. “So,” he started, “I’m sure we’ve all had an...interesting week, so we were actually thinking that trying to pull off a date auction right now was terrible timing. If no one minds, we’ll put it in the books for next semester, and, today, we’ll just do a little bit of recovery, and try to focus on the fact that it’s actually finals weeks and, though one day might be over, there’s still four more to go, and if you’re anything like me, you’ve got...a...lot to study...”

A pox upon all those language courses for places he’d probably never visit that his mother made him take!

“And if you’re anything like me,” a kind of tired, slightly subdued Zack added, “you probably don’t have much studying to do, but it couldn’t hurt for you to get some more practical work in before you take your finals for the semester.”

He could nap for a month.

“For now, though, we’ve got some food to eat. Pizza, again,” Zack continued. “And cookies from J,GoB, and coffee from the Perk.” Because today was totally a coffee day, damn it. “And we can all fight over the remote for ultimate control over whatever we zone out to on the TV today.”

After a few weeks overhearing the other guys in the group talking, Zack had his money on the television ending up on mud wrestling, at least once.

“Just remember,” added Alexander, to supply the club with the appropriate amount of cheese, and a smile to match it, “keeping the academic mind fit is as important as maintaining the health of the body and spirit.”

"Some of you may have noticed that there was some... excitement last week. That disrupted my class schedule." Max smiled just a bit. "So as much as I'm sure it will pain each and every one of you, we're going to forgo a final exam in favor of covering the last category of weapons that I wanted to examine."

What a tragedy! This was the point where students were free to wail and tear their hair.

"That last category is important because it's the same as the last category of so many things: everything else. It's one of those categories we have to have because people don't do things in neat, well-ordered ways. That means there are quite a few weapons that just don't fit. And a lot of times, the fact that they don't fit makes them interesting."

"Actually, I sort of lied, this will serve as an exam of sorts. I'm not going to tell you anything about these weapons. Pick a couple to play around with and see if you can figure out how to use them best. Hopefully, if you've been paying attention this semester, you'll figure something out. Or at least come up with some creative new uses." Max wasn't picky on that one.

With that, Max dumped a box out on his desk, spilling an assortment of bolas, lassos, boomerangs, kubotans, and a couple of canes. "And as always: be careful."

"Good morning," Kerrigan began, shooting an irritated glance around the class. "Most of you were absent last week. I'm sure that as a mitigating factor, you'll suggest the invasion and the fact that all of you came out alive--" Try to sound even less impressed, Kerrigan. "--but the honest truth is that I don't care. You will be tested on last week's material."

She had a stack of tests lying next to her on the desk. "You have the full hour to answer all of these questions," she said. "Be as comprehensive as you can be. Use your own home situation as the basis of every case, unless you don't have a home, in which case I suggest you use the United States', seeing as how that's where we're based."

"Any questions?" She didn't wait for questions. "Good. Get writing."

As specified last week, the rocky bits was the place to be today. And if anyone questioned what they were doing, they really only had to look at the really big ship behind tiny little Jaina. It was kind of obvious.

"It's been a rough week and it's the last class. How'd you like to go into space?" Jaina asked with a smile. "This right here is the Millennium Falcon, and while I could go on and on about all its accomplishments I'm not sure I could really do it justice. This is going to be your ride today. It's a YT-1300 freighter, and this one has not only been modified to hell and back, it's been around forever. Or it feels like it, anyway. We're not going far, sticking to this solar system, and we'll be back by the end of class.

"Now, a couple ground rules. No, you don't get to fly it. Sorry. The owner is not going to be joining us for the trip, but I promise he would kill me for that." No, he wouldn't. Though he might ground her. Well, try to ground her. "Feel free to take turns in the copilot's seat, though. And while you're more than welcome to wander around, if you damage anything that isn't already damaged, I'm not responsible for any punishment he doles out on you. And since this is the last class I just want to say that I've loved teaching you guys, and hopefully you learned something and/or had fun. Now, if there are no questions, head up the landing ramp, find a seat and strap in, and enjoy the ride."
