As specified last week, the rocky bits was the place to be today. And if anyone questioned what they were doing, they really only had to look at the really big ship behind tiny little Jaina. It was kind of obvious.

"It's been a rough week and it's the last class. How'd you like to go into space?" Jaina asked with a smile. "This right here is the Millennium Falcon, and while I could go on and on about all its accomplishments I'm not sure I could really do it justice. This is going to be your ride today. It's a YT-1300 freighter, and this one has not only been modified to hell and back, it's been around forever. Or it feels like it, anyway. We're not going far, sticking to this solar system, and we'll be back by the end of class.

"Now, a couple ground rules. No, you don't get to fly it. Sorry. The owner is not going to be joining us for the trip, but I promise he would kill me for that." No, he wouldn't. Though he might ground her. Well, try to ground her. "Feel free to take turns in the copilot's seat, though. And while you're more than welcome to wander around, if you damage anything that isn't already damaged, I'm not responsible for any punishment he doles out on you. And since this is the last class I just want to say that I've loved teaching you guys, and hopefully you learned something and/or had fun. Now, if there are no questions, head up the landing ramp, find a seat and strap in, and enjoy the ride."

Sure, it's short, but there are rules. Also a spaceship.

A ship. A REAL spaceship! And they were going to go in it? And FLY?!

JAINA WAS THE BEST ~~SKYWALKER~~ EVER!!!

Oh, and uhm, yes, rules.

You can go ahead and explore. Or you can hop in the copilot's seat for a while. Or you can just look out the viewports and see if you can spot any planets you recognize.

You know, after the week she'd had, this was pretty much exactly like getting to go home for a little while, and Tahiri'd needed this.

And it wasn't even a simulation -- that made it even better, so she was wandering the Falcon's corridors like someone who knew them pretty well (and knew what bulkheads not to lean against too hard).

At one point she headed back toward what was her cabin, in her time, and stood outside the door for a while, wondering if she should peek in and . . . see if it was still hers. It was tempting.

Oh, his classmates were going to have to fight Ben to get him out of the copilot's chair.

Even Tahiri.

He closed his eyes and sighed. "It feels like home."

From the next seat, Jaina smiled a little. "Tell me about it. Except I'm usually in the seats behind us."

"Me too," Ben said, pointing. "Dad on the left, me on the right." He laughed. "Threepio shut off and stowed in the back."

Momoko wasn't tapping her foot as she sat behind him. Nooooo. It was probably a loose plate cover or something. Yes.

But that was her finally tapping his shoulder, "Beeeeeen! You're totally hogging the good seat!"

She'd totally be kicking the back of his chair if he stayed too long.

"But I never get to sit here!" Ben protested.

"Neither do I!" Momoko ~~whined~~ pointed out. "You've been in it forever."

Yes, really.

"Really!" Fair warning: Momoko was not an only child; she has played this game before. "For, like, the whole time since we came aboard. We're supposed to take turns!"

"Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine," Ben said finally, heaving himself out of the chair. "I'm used to being stuck in the back anyway."

"YAY!" Momoko bounced up and into the co-pilot seat. "Thank you Ben! I'll totally let you have it back after my turn!"

Maybe.

No. No, Cally couldn't spot any planets she recognized.

That didn't stop her from standing at the viewport and staring as if she could make Auron appear by squinting hard enough.

Leia had serious doubts about the ability of this ship to actually make it out of the atmosphere. Seriously?

Who's not only around before and after class, but she's loving getting to sit in the pilot's seat during the trip.

I want more Vampire Diaries marathon.
