Aeryn had been singing Feliz Navidad all morning. Keep in mind that her translator microbes also read every "Feliz Navidad" as "Merry Christmas", and think about how much more repetitive and annoying that makes that song. Luckily for her students, she was doing a surprisingly good job of not taking it out on them today.

Though she might hit up the shooting range later, because this song would drive her to kill otherwise.

Anyway. "This is our last class together, and it has been a pleasure to teach all of you this semester," she said. "Hopefully you've all learned something, especially if you're going on to become a big brother or sister for any of the new students coming in in a few weeks. Rather than having an actual exam, I wanted to go around the room and see if there was anything that you still have questions about, or feel should have been explained, and then I want you all to tell me the most important piece of information that you would give one of the new students.

"And if you can get this frelling song out of my head, you get extra credit."

When the students walked into the classroom today, they'd probably note the single sheet of looseleaf paper sitting on each desk, yes.

"Final exam day," Algren said, standing at the front of the room with his arms crossed over his chest. "And, instead of the multiple-choice like we had on the midterm, today we're going to ask you just one question. Please, answer in essay format, to the best of your ability."

It was possible that he simply didn't trust Jim with the photocopier enough to risk another quiz like that last one again.

It was a wonderful quiz, thank you.

"Explain your feelings on how the social concept of sex has changed from the past until whatever point in time you're at at the moment. Yes, that does include the future," Jim added dryly.

"Please, cite any valid examples that you might remember from class," Algren added, because he knew that there were some of those in there somewhere, "or feel free to mention things that you might be aware of through your own experiences or research."

Yes, their research of sex. They were teenagers. Algren was going to assume that it had to have happened with at least a few of them, somewhere down the road.

"Welcome to your final exam," Colette said as she greeted students in the home ec classroom. "I'm going back to Paris at the end of the week, but I greatly enjoyed my time here as a teacher, and you are ... not all completely useless in the kitchen."

She just missed Alfredo. She was convinced he'd run the restaurant into the ground without her.

She cleared her throat and went on. "Today, we are going back to the assignment you did the very first week. You each have 40 minutes to make a dish to share with the class that demonstrates what you have learned this term. This is your final assessment."

"Begin."

There was still more music, and not even nifty instrumentals like last week, where Anemone could make up her own words.

Which is why today, all AV equipment, radios, music, headphones, and assorted accessories, have been scooped up, boxed up, and unceremoniously tossed into Special Collections, door slammed shut on it all.

"And don't eat it!" Anemone yelled, shaking her finger at the door. "It will give you indigestion, and I'll laugh."

The Fandom High Library is open, but holiday spirit will be fed to the sentient dust bunnies.

"So it's time for your exams," Mitchell announced, slumped back on a couch in the back of the room. "It's fairly simple, really. Pick up that pen and that paper, pick a country, and write about what you found interesting or horrifying or even good about their approach to the media during one of these wars." He beamed at the class. "Then write down what you learned from it. If you want extra credit, give me a bit on your favorite war movie." Beat. "...As long as it's not Red Bird Down. Travesties they're spitting out in cinema these days."

Rick was all but bouncing as the class came in today. "Morning, kids. This is our last class together and I hope you had as much fun here as I did," he said.

"It's also time for you to present your finals," Rick continued. "One classic piece of literature, now with genre elements. Present your concept to the class and see if you can beat the random awesomeness of Ratman, now with added Russian literature."

He pointed at a random student. "You first. Dazzle me."
