Over the weekend, Ronon had caught a viewing of Dirty Dancing and decided that his students would enjoy a chance to show off their skills or their lack of skills. This led to the Danger Shop taking on the form of a terribly dusky room with a large screen blaring scenes from the movie.

When they'd assembled, Ronon paused the scene. "Today your movie clips are the dance scenes from some movie that declares no one can put Baby in the corner. After you get your uniforms on, I'll assign you to a partner, with one of you dancing as Baby and the other as Johnny. We've got an even number, so no one's lucky enough to be carrying the watermelon." Ronon smiled widely at that image even if it wasn't to be.

"But first, you've gotta learn how to dance. Luckily this movie's a how-to. Pick a scene and recreate it. Enjoy."

When Cal came in to open the library, he knew that it was just going to be one of those days. One of those days where his apathy for it would cripple his ability to work, while he lack of apathy about the following day distracted him from everything else. In a way, he wanted today to stretch itself out and last forever so that tomorrow might never happen, but, on the other hand, there was too much of a tingle of excitement going through him to completely wish it away.

So, sequestered in the library, he had the whole of the day to think about how it wasn't like he could call off the thing with Eleanor since it was technically under the guise of newpaper business and there was no way he could chicken out of auditioning after what he and Dinah had gone through on Thursday. He was stuck. Thankfully, it was only one day.

It was another day for class! This left Minsc in a very good mood, as he typically did like class, and plus there was all that bowling and fighting last night, and, really, who could be in a sour mood then?

Even if they were still doing more boring talky stuff today.

"Good afternoon!" he greeted the students as they gathered in the classroom; may they be either greatly disappointed or incredibly relieved that below Minsc's feet there was no mysteriously moving or growling boxes. "Today is more talking bits, but they are important talking bits, I promise you! Talking bits are incredibly important with faeries; they are tricksy, and knowledge is power!"

He said it with enthusiasm, but his nose sort of wrinkled a little bit in distaste. "Not as much power as, say, a broadsword or a mace or really awesome spell, but power all the same. I guess. Anyway, today we work on categorizing faeries. Faeries delight in tricks and illusion, confounding our expectations of them and making them difficult to categorize, but, by Tempus, we're gonna try!"

Faery Classification )

Once satisfied with the settling, he nodded. "Right, then. Let us discuss! No faery holidays this week, but, trust me, it'll be worth the wait. The next one is a lot of fun, but I'll advise the ladies to wear something a bit more mobile than your average skirts."

Robin had that song from class stuck in his head, and was attempting to play it on guitar. There was soda and chips nearby, but he was caught up in what he was doing.

Edmund was in before he needed to be, setting up for Fencing Club. When everyone arrived, he addressed them. "Welcome back. We'll get some hands-on experience this week. On this rack you'll find the wooden training swords we'll be using today. Zayne, your weighted sword is down on the end there." He picked one up. "They're very different from standard fencing foils. If you're interested in practising with a foil later in the semester, let me know and I'll arrange it.

Those with experience, you're welcome to partner off and use this time for sparring, or you can join the rest of us in footwork drills. I'll demonstrate, then you can practice them on your own until you feel comfortable enough to partner with someone."
