Physical Films | Period 3 | Class 3

Over the weekend, Ronon had caught a viewing of Dirty Dancing and decided that his students would enjoy a chance to show off their skills or their lack of skills. This led to the Danger Shop taking on the form of a terribly dusky room with a large screen blaring scenes from the movie.

When they'd assembled, Ronon paused the scene. "Today your movie clips are the dance scenes from some movie that declares no one can put Baby in the corner. After you get your uniforms on, I'll assign you to a partner, with one of you dancing as Baby and the other as Johnny. We've got an even number, so no one's lucky enough to be carrying the watermelon." Ronon smiled widely at that image even if it wasn't to be.

"But first, you've gotta learn how to dance. Luckily this movie's a how-to. Pick a scene and recreate it. Enjoy."

When students returned from the dressing rooms, they would be assigned to these partnerships. Baby is in red; Johnny in blue.

Hannibal...just shook his head. This movie was going to haunt him until his dying days, he was sure. It was just everywhere.

George wasn't even trying not to laugh. He knew how to dance. All Lower City people did, but - he sure wasn't no lass t'be put in the corner.

Eric figured this was a piece of cake... even if this was pretty much a chick flick.

Learning to dance from a movie. So far, Mirax had been with her professor. She'd sat through the films, worn the uniforms without complaining, and now she just had a bad feeling about this.

Oh god, making him dance was bad. Chuck was malcoordinated at best.

He... might be looking a little apprehensive. Just a little.

Beka was trying to stay serious as she watched the video's, but it was hard to. Some of it looked really silly and Pounce's remarks weren't really helping either.

Yakko knew that he could take on any role. He was a professional, after all.

Dancing in the ugliest clothing known to man? Check. Hannibal just tried to think of happy things as he donned the monstrosities.

At least t'wasn't a skirt?

Yes. That was it. These uniforms were much, much better than a skirt. George managed to put it on again by thinking of that.

Eric changed his clothes and wished the girls had skirts to wear for this particular lesson.

As she dressed today, Mirax wondered if maybe she shouldn't complain about the uniforms. Because really, dancing in these? Not fair.

This could only be worse if he was wearing a dress. He was thinking of that as he pulled on his (as usual, oversized) gym clothes.

The amusement at the films at least made it easier to pull on the ugly uniform.

Hannibal, in his tacky uniform, waited for his partner and got ready to warn her that he was a crap dancer and her feet were in danger.

Jak was used to victory dances. The movie's idea of dancing ran a little contrary to his own.

This was going to go well.

Which one was his partner again? George wasn't sure which was worse. T'be th' lass or t'have a lass leadin' ye.

Eric wasn't sure who Mirax was, but he was ready to dance with her.

Muppets don't sweat. They do dance after a fashion though.
