This week as the students settled in for class, they'd find Aeryn passing out printed photos down the rows for everyone to see.

"The photos you are seeing right now are all animals. Specifically, animals my husband was turned into while he was a student here," she explained. They weren't the actual photos of John himself, but rather generic photos of animals, because she wasn't that cruel. And because finding out which pictures Aeryn actually has? A liiiiiiiittle too much work on a Monday night. "Welcome to the wonderful world of animal transformation. A long time ago, a student turning into a bunny randomly was a novelty. Now it seems to happen pretty frequently. This being our third week, this may have already happened to some of you. If it has, please feel free to share your experience. Why does it happen? I have no idea. I don't think anyone does. Do you get to decide what you turn into? It doesn't seem to be that way, no. In the case of the photos being passed around, he was transformed weekly because he provoked a teacher who was a witch. I don't think that gets to happen these days, even if someone wanted to do that." She had no idea if this was true, but thought it might make them feel better. "Mostly it just seems to happen at random. You will return to normal, in due time. Just wait it out."

Aeryn had never been an animal. This was all very easy for her to say.

"Also, from what I understand, there may be some nudity involved when you change back. My advice is to keep to areas where you can easily access clothes though we all know it will happen at the time that will provide the most awkwardness anyway. Try not to be too embarrassed. It will likely happen to everyone at some point." Except her. La.

She reached behind her desk to pull out two large carriers, setting them on the top of the desk. "You also may have to care for a loved one or friend who has turned into an animal, in which case you are probably stuck dealing with them until they change back. That person should really owe you a few favors. For the duration of this class period, you will be caring for animals. These are kittens, which I understand to be baby cats, and therefore one of the most difficult animals to keep track of because they do not care about you. Take one, keep it with you and safe for the rest of class, and return it at the bell. Also, should you be allergic, I have allergy medication here. Take two and deal with it."

All of the animals were a little on the curious side to Adora, but wow, had this professor's husband turned into a lot of ugly creatures. If she were cruel, she'd have wondered what that said about his looks.

Raven really wasn't sure some of these were real animals.

She also wasn't looking forward to being transformed into anything herself.

Illyria had turned into a human. Sort of. Anything else rather lost its ability to traumatize. Still, she studied the pictures calmly, wondering if, should it happen, she could shift herself back to this form without waiting for whatever magic it was to wear off.

The animals Professor Sun showed were all so... pedestrian. Yes there were some stand outs but they didn't seem to have hybrids. How boring.

Get your kitten and mod it for the rest of class. Feel free to talk or what have you, just take care of your temporary pet. If it'll let you.

George had gotten a little orange kitten with big, big eyes from the carrier. He - kinda wanted to keep it.

The kitten started out by chewing on George's hands but he'd managed to distract it with a piece of string in his pocket. Now the kitten was proudly lying on the conquered string and chewing on George's hand.

At least the kittens were appropriately adorable. Cradling a sleepy, dark-colored one in her elbow, she worried that there would be no home for the tiny creature to go to after class.

Chuck seemed to have acquired a scuffy little tabby, which insisted on attaching itself to his arm. Very cute, but ow claws.

Fortunately, it was too small to do any real damage, but that wasn't going to stop him from trying (and mostly failing) to pry it off again.

Raven despite the icon picked an all black kitten. It climbed on to her shoulder and snuggled into her neck, purring.

Raven didn't want to give it back now.

The calico kitten that Mat had picked out had dug its claws into Mat's breeches, then raced away into a corner where it hissed when Mat got any closer.

"Fine," Mat said with a shrug. "Stay there."

Kaylee had a kitty. She cuddled it and pet it and found a bit of string for it to play with!

See, Ned should turn into a kitten. It'd be fine.

Pounce curiously moved closer to the basket to see the kitten pile. A small grey kitty didn't seem too intimidated by the big black cat and jumped up to the edges, miaowing loudly.

Beka picked it up and it instantly started wriggling in her hands. Amused, she sat it down again and the kitten ambled up to Pounce. It lasted a whole of five seconds before it was batting at Pounce's tail.

Stop that, Pounce chided it and gently batted it down with a paw. It's undignified. The kitten didn't seem to care.

Karla found the most adorable female kitten ever. She was curious and playful and would most certainly grow up to be a VERY NAUGHTY LITTY KITTY INDEED!

Right now, however, she was mostly interested in stalking and pouncing Karla's pencil.

Karla wondered if Aeryn would notice one fewer kitten.

How nice. Kittens. Azula took one and promptly dropped it on the table. It mewled and cried and attempted to go to the edge.

"Don't go to the edge," Azula ordered. It disregarded her and continued to inch to the edge. She made a fist and slammed it down next to the kitten, the kitten yowled in surprise but stopped, it looked up at Azula with big, big eyes.

Azula snorted. "That doesn't work on me."

It meowed again.

Azula loomed over the kitten. "Stop making that noise unless you want to get burned."

She waited for it to make a noise again. It didn't. Azula smirk. "Good, now sit still."

The idea of being turned into an animal still worried Morgana greatly, but it was difficult to stay concerned with a kitten in her hands. He seemed to be enjoying stretching out on his back and pawing at her, and really, how could she not play in return?
