As students entered, Ronon pointed them towards the typical locker rooms they'd grown to love over the past weeks. Once they'd reassembled in the classroom (nope, no gym, just a classroom in the Danger Shop), student may notice the large screen, posters, and handouts on the tables.

"Now, last week you all did an okay job hiding, so that's one thing to try when faced with an enemy you can't shoot or outrun." Since few of them would ever shoot or outrun anything. "This week, we're taking it a step further 'cause you can only hide so long before someone's gonna find you, with any luck not an enemy. When they do, you'll need to be able to communicate with them without alerting the enemy to your location. Today we're watching a clip of how the U.S. military does silent signals and then practicing our silent communication with partners." Ronon looked over the group, wondering which one would be the McKay of the bunch and end up talking through the exercise.

"I wanna see you all trying hard here," he warned as he passed out the papers. "Next week we're talking about how to deal with some of the more interesting people you might meet up with. Trust me, you might need this stuff one of these days if you didn't already last weekend." Uh huh, he'd heard.

Today, Rick's class was back in the class-room, where Rick leant against his desk, his arms crossed and not at all looking like he'd redone his class-plan at the last moment.

When everyone had arrived, he began;

"Writers seem much more legit,
When they know how to edit.

Your works will never be best-selling,
If you seem to have no grasp of spelling.

An audience will start to clamour,
When you have atrocious grammar.

Likewise they'll think you're dense,
If you can't keep consistent tense.

Their opinions will certainly start to worsen,
When, random, you go from first- to third-person.

They'll start crying for their Momma,
If you can't learn to use a comma.

So to help ensure no nasty surprises,
Please to do the following exercises."

Rick pointed to a stack of print-outs, and sat back down behind his desk.

Unlike last week, Loki was back in the classroom, grinning smugly at each student as they entered. Once they'd all settled, he stood up and started talking.

Between Chuck acting like nothing had changed between them and Peter insisting that what happened in the other Fandom had nothing to do with his destiny here, Sam was pretty sure that he should have been feeling a lot better about everything that had gone on over the weekend. But no amount of comfort could fully shake the images from his dreams out of his head, or the thoughts of what the other Sam had done, and how he'd destroyed his Dean in the process, or the thoughts of what he'd done when he was supposed to be the better, less evil version of himself. After dealing with Gordon and this glimpse of himself, Sam was seriously starting to consider the possibility that he might not be able to make as strong of a stand against his supposed destiny as he thought, and he wasn't sure if any amount of comfort and assurance from others would fix that now.

Luckily, if there was one thing Winchesters were good at, it was repression, and Sam thought he was doing a pretty good job of looking calm and collected as he stopped at the Perk, and then went to open the library.

There had been a *handwavy* notice for all the students to meet at the shooting range for class today. When the class arrived all the safety gear was laid out for them and several examples of fire arms were laid out on the table.

He also made sure the rules were posted and read off every one to the students. It was clear he was not going to tolerate any foolishness today.

SAFETY RULES:

· TREAT ALL GUNS AS IF THEY WERE LOADED

· KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL READY TO FIRE

· BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT’S BEYOND

· ALWAYS WEAR HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION

· NEVER USE ALCOHOL OR DRUGS BEFORE OR WHILE SHOOTING.

· CHECK IN ALL WEAPONS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RANGE.

"You violate any of those rules?" Gibbs said giving all the students a hairy eyeball, "Or even point a gun at something other than the target, so help me I'll smack you in the head and throw you in detention so fast it'll make your head spin."

That being said... )

She eyed her class carefully, considered what had happened last week, and shook her head.

"I'll hand out something next week covering today's class. Instead, I've brought some tea and coffee," which she pointed to, "as well as some baked goods" which was there as well "and we're going to watch a movie and not think about anything but the ridiculousness of this plot."

And she took her seat at the back of the class to let them at it.

The class was back in the Danger Shop this week, which was set up to resemble a high-class dinner party. Resplendent in a perfectly tailored dinner jacket, Bond was there to greet them.

"There are some situations that a person cannot go into with a weapon," he said, gesturing around the spacious ballroom. "For example, many diplomatic situations, or high-class casinos, or the like, have weapons detectors, and highly trained security staff. However, that does not necessarily mean that you will go in unarmed.

"Apart from any training you may have in unarmed training, you have your wits, and your clothes. In a situation such as this, your choice of clothing can be If you look like you belong, you will be unlikely to attract much notice. If you're working in a team, having your partner wearing a stunning couture dress can distract your enemies at a vital moment." Or leave you distracted at a vital moment, it could backfire sometimes. Not that Bond was going to mention that. "In a pinch, a stiletto heel can be quite a potent weapon indeed."

Bond gestured to an unassuming door. "There is a wardrobe with suitable clothing and footwear through there, and changing stalls," he said. "You will outfit yourselves in a manner befitting this party, and spent the rest of the class mingling and getting information on various party guests, as well as looking out for any fixtures in the room that could be used as weapons. If you have trouble choosing an outfit, I will be happy to help."

Once the students had entered the wardrobe to choose their outfits, they would have noticed that it was filled with stunning couture dresses in every style, fabric, and colour imaginable. After a few more minutes they would have noticed that there wasn't a single suit in sight.

After all, it was unfair to only expect the girls to wear spike heels.

The weapons rack was back to its relatively disorganized state. There wasn't any particular method of organization to it like there had been for the last couple of sessions. Max's gaze swept across his students as they arrived, working to pick out those who were looking for patterns. It was nice to think that at least a couple of them might have started to pay attention to that sort of thing.

As everyone had probably come to expect, Max began his lecture precisely at the appointed class time. "Today we're going to be discussing the advantages and disadvantages of choosing to use a single blade or a pair of blades. There are a huge number of styles of combat which swear by one of the other, and both have their merits. Let's start with the obvious." He grabbed a rather large blade off the rack. "Sticking to a single blade allows you to use two hands to handle your weapon. This permits the use of larger, heavier blades as well as allowing for much stronger strikes." He spun the blade around a few times to illustrate before putting it away.

"The obvious advantage of a second blade," he continued as he swapped the large blade for a pair of short swords, "is that it doubles your options. If your opponent has a single blade then there is a single primary threat." Ignoring the fact that someone could still kick you or do other unfriendly things. "But with two blades you have to treat both with equal respect, your attention must be divided. Allowing yourself to become focused on one leaves you open to an attack by the other."

"But there are some other considerations as well. If you carry a single weapon then you have a hand free. This can be incredibly important if you are on unstable terrain like a ship's deck and need to hold onto something for balance. Or if you want to grab your opponent to throw them off balance. Or if you want to throw things. Having a free hand provides you with nearly unlimited options and it increases your flexibility significantly. On the other hand, carrying a second weapon means that you have two things that you don't mind putting in the way of something sharp. You don't want to block or parry with your hand, after all. With two blades you can engage an opponent with a single blade's weapon and still have something to stab or cut them with."

"Things are, of course, far more complex than simply the number of blades you choose to wield. There are reasons to use two matching blades, or to use a primary and a secondary. There are reasons to use two-handed weapons and single one-handed weapons. But this is a course on basic sword skills, and besides, many of you will begin to get a feel for your options once you actually get out there."

Max crossed his arms and looked around critically. "For today's exercise each of you will decide what style you want to focus on, and you will select your totally moddable blades. I want each of you to do some sparring against someone carrying two blades, and someone carrying one, so that you can get a feel for how the two styles offset one another." He smiled suddenly. "And if you're having trouble finding a partner for one style or the other... feel free to find me." Max would love to beat some students up assist in their education.

"Now get to it."

Edna was practically buried under a pile of costumes, only her sensible yet fabulous shoes showing, as she entered the Danger Shop. "Today we try on what you have designed! I finished them up for you while you were all asleep last week--no need to thank me, not that you would, ungrateful teenagers that you are--and I have also brought in a rack of weapons that don't work so don't try to kill each other with them please. Put on your outfits, prance around, do a little turn on the catwalk--" yes, there was a small runway, "and ask each other for advice. Because yes, some of these outfits will make your butts look big. Best to know now before we make the final project with the good fabric."

Spandex and hormones. What a fantastic combination!
