To apply, read the following information, click the link to the application form, fill it out for the character you want to play, and send it off!

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE

As usual, we're going to have a period marked for early applications. If a player's application falls into one of the following categories:

a) Student applications where the player does not have a current student
b) Teacher applications where the player has not previously played a teacher
c) Applications from new players to the game

and the application is submitted by August 13th, we will consider it and, if there are any issues with it, will go back to the player by August 18th to give them a chance to make changes. Players in this situation will then have five days to make any changes and re-submit their application.

Application Form
You only need to fill out the parts that are relevant to the type of character you are applying for (ie: if you're a student applicant, don't fill in the stuff marked 'Townies Only').

If you don't get a confirmation email from us within 24 hours, please email us.

Here at Fandom High we have a soft character cap of 10 characters per fandom. (Characters who have graduated or otherwise moved away from the island are not counted towards this.) There are currently no fandoms at full capacity, so feel free to apply for characters from whatever fandom you choose. You can check on your prospective fandom's character count by checking out the character roster on fandomhigh.net (linked above).

Applications close Sunday, August 23, 2009. The next application session for students and teachers after this will be in December.

Got a question? We're here to answer it!

Brennan looked tired and a little sunburned as she waited for the students to gather. Someone had spent the last week chasing a murderer around the Florida Keys without benefit of sunscreen.

"Hi," she said. "I listened to radio enough to know a lot of you had a bad week, and mine ... well, it was productive." Which was as much as she could say, yes. What with the getting shot at again. "Please report back on your assigned dates and then we're going to watch a movie. It's full of stereotypes about dating and sexual behavior in general in modern-day London."

"Hullo, everyone." Daisy, it would seem, had come into the classroom a bit early, to take to moving all the desks and chairs in the one part of the home ec room aside and lay down some mats, as well as brew some coffee. The good stuff, too. It's not like they were in the station. So she was having herself a giant mug of it, because she'd done her bad station coffee duty for the day, thank you. "Before we do anything, I'd like you all to help yourself to some coffee; there's tea, too, of course, if you're not a fan. Just a little something to wake us up a bit because it's been a long week and anything to help keep up up through this is probably a good thing."

"And I want to say thanks to Peyton for covering for me last week and apologize to you all for missing it, but there were some pressing matters that needed to be taken care of. If anything, I want you all to take from this class that you shouldn't try to turn old video game consoles into bombs. It only turns out badly."

"So far, we've focused, of course, a lot on staying healthy through what we eat, and this week was supposed to be the body, but I think we need a nice calming break. We're going to work a little on the mind. Keeping your head straight and healthy is equally important, and there are lots of ways to do that. Some people find their centering in a hobby or an activity, for example." Daisy would not be mentioning her own, as it was probably not classroom appropriate, ahem. "A lot of people use meditation, as well, and so we'll be taking some time to do that today. Meditation is a great way to just stop for a moment, give your brain a rest, and come out of it feeling as rejuvenated as a good night's sleep, if you get good enough at it. It'll help put things into focus if everything's seeming to get a little crazy, just by stopping for a moment, and focusing on just breathing. Our bodies tend to do that naturally, the whole breathing thing, but it's amazing how it can change us by slowing down and noticing."

"A lot of times, meditation works best by focusing on one thing. Your breathing, an object, a word, an image, a sound. Since I don't want that one thing to be our stomachs, we're going to start today by making a quick and easy snack, satisfy our stomachs before satisfying our minds. While we work on those and have some coffee, here's some information on meditation to look over,"--she had doubts about including that last one, but, come on, they were teenagers, it might be the only one they'd bother reading, and that was better than nothing-- "and if you did get a chance to get to that dinner, let's hear about it. If not, no big deal. I was gone all last week, but I could tell that it was an...off one. And then we'll hit the mats and try some meditation."

sith_happened: (Anakin: A is for Anakin)
[personal profile] sith_happened
Anakin looked absolutely wiped out as he stood in the center of the flight shed. His eyes flickered to each student's face, mentally appraising their fitness to fly. "Today we're flying capital ships," he said, flicking his hands toward the screen set up in the corner. "Specifically this or the first minute and a half anyway capital ship. It was called the Invisible Hand and when I was flying it, half of it had already broken up in the atmosphere, the rudder that steered the ship had been in that half, and the thrusters weren't firing enough to stop us. The equipment was also set up for a species other than human and I couldn't read the controls."

Anakin had landed anyway. He was just that good. There wasn't a pilot in a million that could replicate what he'd done.

"Since I was working under rather...strained...circumstances, we'll do something a little easier to live through," he said. "You'll have the entire ship, and the back half will be on fire. The controls will be set up for your species and you'll be able to read the controls."

Yes, he thought that was cutting them a break. Anakin was odd. "Begin!"
