As the students might notice, Max was missing this morning from the class room. As was, thankfully, his alligator footrest. Instead, Fiona stood at the head of the class, notes in her hand as she watched the others enter the room.

"Max couldn't be here today, as you might have guessed from his absence," she said once they were all in. She walked over to the door of the room and closed the door.

"He did, however, leave me in charge of an activity he designed. Specifically, we'll be learning distraction. Since there are generally fewer supervisors than those being supervised, a useful tactic involves having some people distract the supervisor from trying to ensure that their stupid orders are followed, while others get real work done."

She looked out through the class and lifted her head.

"He gave me pre-arranged groups, so don't worry about finding friends to work with. Please enter the groups of three, dividing into two workers and one manager. Your task? Solve these" which she placed on the teacher's desk in neat rows "while the manager will try and bother you about unimportant things. Your objective is to solve the puzzle before the class is over."

Library, Friday

Sadly, Buffy was used to that sort of frustrated state of things while everyone else was getting some. It didn't usually bother her, but this week was so not her fault.

But since she knew her library days tended to the quiet, at least she didn't have to worry about embarrassing herself. So for now she was just spending her shift flipping through a magazine. And spending way too long staring at the Shirtless Guy of the Month or whatever.

The classroom was... not the same as previous weeks. The changing rooms and racks of clothes were still there, but the overall setting was a cavernous, cathedral like room. Mood lit with candles, gargoyles and dirty stained glass windows looming over head. Vince himself was dressed more gothically as well. The modern goth, though, not like an old Visigoth. black leather jacket, studded color, fishnet shirt, and tight black trousers made up the whole of his outfit. Oh, and he was definitely wearing some eyeliner and some lipstick.

"I really hope you kids are having as groovy of a week as I am," Vince said. His attitude... not so goth, really. "Today we're going to talk about something great, which is dressing up your clothes. Now, sad people only put on clothes and then go out in public. That's silly. If you really want to be dressing your best, you have to go beyond that. That's when we hit the realm of accessories."

Vince pulled off his jacket, which exposed just a bit of skin since underneath was merely fishnet.

"Now this jacket, see, it's acting like an accessory. This collar, definitely an accessory. And it does really look good, doesn't it?" He grinned. "Now, other options are going the multiple chains look, bracelets, gauntlets, leg warmers, that sort of thing. Oh, and capes. Capes are absolutely brilliant. I love them. I could get a nice rich velvety cloak going with this outfit. Blood red. That'd look genius, don't you think?"

He didn't really wait for the class to reply.

"Really, the key is finding things that fit your outfit. And don't follow any silly rules. You can wear leg warmers with a bikini if you're confident enough. Or thigh high boots, a kilt, and a top made ace bandages covered with Scout merit badges. There's a lot of opportunity to bring out the real you, in accessories."

Vince grinned and nodded.

"New style time!" he proclaimed. "I want you all to go goth for the day. Chokers, corsets, cloaks, frills, leather, you name it. There's a lot of options, even in this one style. Oh, and I made sure to bring some make-up in, cause you can't really just not have any make up and really be goth. Thanks, and I should add that lots of people go wild for a goth. Just so you all know."

Glinda looked like the cat who swallowed the canary this afternoon, and the students had frosted pineapple cookies to snack on with their lemonade today.

"Welcome," she said, once everyone had settled in. "I'd like to apologize for last week's class. I hope no one was too inconvenienced by it. If you look at your syllabus, you'll see that last week we should have covered outlining a speech." She began to pass around a handout. "Because I don't believe that you want to listen to two lectures in one day, read this instead. Now then, public speaking occasions that everyone should prepare for!"

Glinda put far too much thought into this one class. )

An astute observer might notice that Minsc was not actually in the platemail that he usually seemed to practically live in. A knowledgeable on might recognize that, in fact, he was in just chainmail, which was a lower armour class bonus just not the same. But someone had taken the liberty to rend his platemail off of him and he hadn't had the chance to get to the Gig to fix it yet.

Not that he was complaining.

Oh, no. Definitely not complaining, which was nice. Last time that happened, it was done by a wyvern, and the results were not quite as nice, but just about as bruising.

Anyway...

They were not in a classroom today. In fact, they were in the gym. And there weren't any couches, just very cold, very plastic chairs. The A/C was running on high. There was a flatscreen at the front of the class, which Mitchell was standing in front of - many feet away from the chairs.

He had some wads of cotton plugged up his nose. With his complexion, he figured he could get away with saying he was simply a bit ill. It wasn't that whatever was happening affected him, but it meant that the air was full of pheromones - of desire, want, blood rushing heavily through veins and--Class under the cut. )

He pointed at the TV with the remote. "Today, we'll be watching different channels. You'll discuss what defines each and every one of them. What are the most obvious visual markers? Who does the channel seem to be geared at? Would you watch it on your own?"
