doubleohblonde: (Bond calls this look Blue Steel)
[personal profile] doubleohblonde
Today the Danger Shop was set up to resemble a swanky bar, and Bond looked especially happy to be behind the counter. Really.

"Mixology," he said, barely even waiting for the class to finish arriving before he began, pouring the contents of several bottles into a shaker. "If there's one skill every person should master in their lifetime, it's the ability to make at least one cocktail and make it well. It will impress both your friends and your potential lovers, it can lead to exciting employment opportunities, and since the Geneva Convention has yet to rule on Jägerbombs, can provide an impromptu instrument of torture."

Putting the lid on, Bond started shaking the silver container as if it had personally offended him. "Today you will all experiment with making cocktails, both traditional recipes and your own if you feel adventurous. All the equipment you need is there for you, and the alcohol is simulated so you don't need to worry about any ill-effects," he said, carefully straining his drink into a glass. Tucking the bottles he'd used under one arm, he made his way for an out of the way table up the back, glass in hand."If you have any questions, you can ask Mr Darklighter, or figure them out on your own since this is hardly rocket science."

It might look like the class had a subsitute, despite the fact that the woman at the front of the room was wearing a very familiar brown leather jacket.

"Don't ask," he muttered once the students were settled. "Let's just focus on class, alright?"

And no that wasn't him muttering as he started scrawling on the chalkboard. Might not look like Murdock, but the handwriting was exactly the same.

"The reason I didn't cover the Wright Brothers last week is because I planned to include them today. Didn't want make things to redundant for y'all."

"Of course history was made on December 17, 1903 when Orville Wright flew 120 feet at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The thing that makes this attempt stand out more than any of their predecessors is that they made the first successful controlled flight of a powered aircraft. Before them, the previous attempts by early inventors were gliding only, completely unpowered except by the wind, or launch-assisted powered craft. The Wright Brothers were the first to have a successful flight of a piloted, powered aircraft that took off with nothing more than its own power. They were also able to sustain that flight, and land, without mishap. That is why they are credited as being the first men to fly."

"After the Wrights' success, many entrepreneurs jumped on the bandwagon, eager to conquer the skies. Of course, there were many failures, and some of the more distinctive ones we'll be covering later this semester, but we're going to look at those which had the greatest impact on the early development of flight."

Miss Elizabeth Bennet did not recognize most of the students in her classroom. Clearly, Fandom was amusing itself at her expense once more. Very well; if they believed they belonged here, she would treat them accordingly.

"Congratulations to our Student Council Winners," Nathan said. He noticed that some of his students looked different, and he decided he was going to ignore it. He felt saner that way. "And sympathy to those who did not win. Remember not everyone wins every election. Part of being a good politician is knowing when you should try, try again. Either way anyone from this class who ran gets extra credit whether you won or not."

Nathan started to pass around the class handouts. "Today we're going to talk about skills. Being a good leader means understanding what you can do, and what you can't. Some of these are basic skills: are you good with a weapon? Are you good at math? Can you play the saxophone? Others are what we call 'soft skills.' Are you good with people? Can you motivate a team? Can you communicate effectively?

"Since I assume you already know your basic skills, today I'd like you to discover your soft skills. Take the following test. There's no right or wrong answers, just what you feel is right for you. At the end you'll see what your strengths are. If you're comfortable with it, share with the class and let us know how you think these strengths apply to a position of leadership."

It was a very annoyed Sam Winchester who opened the library in the morning. His date with Peter had been foiled and he'd gone back to his room feeling like a complete idiot.

And then he'd woken up with breasts. Again.

As much as he wanted to do nothing more than hide in his room, Sam took his job seriously enough to show up and get settled behind the desk. Without Dawn this time around, he had no access to girl clothes, so he'd had to do his best with the smallest clothes he owned. He hoped that if he stayed behind the desk, no one would notice he wasn't wearing shoes. Or a bra.

He could already tell it was going to be an unbearable day.
