Logan didn't look like he was in a good mood this morning. Not that he often looked like he was in a good mood, but it was a little more clear this time. Before the workshop started, he could probably be heard to mutter something about a stupid Danger Room and stupid programming and words that shouldn't be repeated about electronics in general and why couldn't we just go back to the wild, except keep the breweries. Anyway, he wasn't even wearing his hat. That was on a table today.

"Pay attention, 'cause I'm not repeating anything this week," Logan said when he was ready to start. "Sometimes you can think things through with your creative skills. Other times you need to focus less on your mental dexterity and more on your physical dexterity. If you can use your hands, you can do a lot. It makes you a better fighter, it lets you play music better, it lets you do surgery more efficiently... And if you can focus enough to actually improve your dexterity, you can apply that same focus to pretty much anything. It takes some effort, but so does everything if you're gonna be the best."

"I've got three things for you today to test your dexterity. If you wanna go solo, we've got the classic game, Operation. Just be glad I didn't up the intensity of the vibration if you touch the sides. I could've set the Danger Shop to shock you."

"If you want competition, thumb wrestling. Better yet, no disqualification thumb wrestling. If you can flex your mental dexterity and cheat, more power to you. But if you hurt your partner at all, you'll regret it."

"No matter what you decide to do, you're getting something to work on." Logan picked up his hat and pulled a poker chip out of it. "Poker players have all sorts of chip tricks they like to do to help with dexterity. This one is called the knuckle roll."

Logan balanced a chip on his thumb, then showed off as the chip rolled across his knuckles with ease. "Take one of these, figure out how to do the trick, and work on it. Two weeks from today I want to see you able to do something with it. Speaking of which, I won't be here next week. You'll be dealing with Z. Treat her good or you'll probably regret that, too."

[OOC: Heading off to sleep now, then afk for work. I'll be around by 8 PM EDT or so.

Yeah, that was a lie. I was at work longer than expected. And now I'm exhausted and need sleep. Ugh.]

There were ice baths set up at each Danger Shop lab station today, and Tyler tossed goggles and gloves at each student as they came in. He folded his arms and waited for the class to settle before beginning.

Then he reached onto his desk and held up a container of clear, thick stuff. "So this," he said, "is the extra glycerin from the soap we made the first week. And now it's time to get to the fun part and make it nitroglycerin."

He pointed out two vials on his desk. "This is nitric acid. The big one is sulfuric acid. What you're going to do is add the nitric to to three times the amount of sulfuric in the ice batch, then start adding the glycern with an eyedropper."

"This is a delicate reaction, so please, work in pairs if you can stand it. One person watches the vat, other one drops in the glycerin. You'll know you're done when it gels up."

"Once you see that happen, you can scoop it out and mix it with sawdust to get a plastic explosive. You can roll it together and light it on fire. We don't have to do that this week, but if you have time, we have a lovely fake fast food restaurant for you to test it in." He gestured to the back wall of the shop and hit a button on the control panel, transforming it into an (unstaffed) Mooby's counter.

"Go to work. I'll be around."

The class met in the Danger Room, as they had been handwavily informed.

"I was going to have a discussion today about how to find clothes that fit properly," Lulu said, "but instead, I thought we might just find clothes that fit properly. As such," she continued, waving her hand for the programmed trigger, "we're going to find clothes in here, and then I'll order them for you. The racks are holding clothes from any number of places from which I can order for you. You can pick anything you want from them, as long as you limit it to one outfit. Which means as much as you like, as long as you can justify to my satisfaction how it is all one ensemble.

"So, have at," she said. "Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves your choices, and make suggestions to each other. Ask for advice, too. Just consider what you're going to be using the outfit for -- the other criterion for it to be purchased is that you convince me that it is in some way functional for you to own. That might be used on an at least remotely regular basis."
