Karal looked a little sheepish today. "I have a feeling that me choosing this as today's club topic might be a surprise to some of you, but sometimes, you have no choice. You need to curse. Whether you've just glued your fingers to a desk, or fallen down the stairs, or received a piece of terrible news," or you've discovered a gremlin has made your girlfriend thinks she is some sort of be-wigged hussy, "the need is there. By doing it in a language none around you understand, you can fulfil the need without giving offence to anyone."

He lifted his hands and waved at them in a shooing gesture. "So, go forth and teach each other to swear for the purposes of education and giving voice to anger without offending people. To start us off, sheka is shin-a-in for, umm, manure, and eseka is the same in Karsite."

Of course he was flushing slightly, but this was an important part of any language.

Anyone coming into the library this Saturday would find a weetiny library aide, lying on her stomach in front of her laptop on the front desk.

What? She had a far better view of things going on from up there.
