Today, there were French chocolates to be had. If the professor looked slightly out-of-sorts, this was probably because he couldn't have any, but at least he could share. "There is no quiz," Jean-Paul announced happily. "The quiz is a lie. This is because today is St. Valentine's Day, a holiday celebrating love, and French is widely considered to be the language of love. So pair up and practice your flirting en Francais. Have fun."

The Danger Shop was set up to look like a smallish, ordinary-looking lecture hall. There was a thick stack of booklets on the desk near the door for students to pick up.

"Good afternoon, class. As you may have guessed from the simulation, today's class is going to be more theoretical than practical," Bond said after everyone had been seated. "This class we'll, to that purpose, I have provided you with copies of the applicable rules for Virginia. Now after we've had a chance to go over the information in the booklets, you will be watching a short film on the importance of following road rules. Then we will be having a short written test."

He paused a moment, looking around the class before continuing. "If I find your test results unsatisfactory, I will have no qualms about repeating this class until they are at a satisfactory level."

The threat inherent there would only really become apparent after he played the film.

[ooc: wait for OCD up!]

So Bridge in a good mood as he opens the library is hardly a new thing. But Bridge is, perhaps, extra-bouncy today. Wonder why?

There was no elaborate simulations this week. "This week," John said, leaning against a desk at the front of the room, "we're going to concentrate on what happens in various forms on random weekends. And that's waking up not as yourself. You all had a taste of it a few weeks ago, but that's not the only version. There have been occasions of people waking up with amnesia, bodyswapping, just thinking you've bodyswapped, that sort of thing.

"Now, it's not easy to prepare for such a thing because when you think you're someone else you're not going to remember your preparations. You can always leave an emergency information packet to yourself with all your pertinent details in an easy to find place, but there's no guarantee you'll read it or believe yourself.

"But every time this happens, there's always some of you who aren't affected. It's left up to you to steer your affected classmates in the right direction and keep them from hopefully doing anything too dangerous or embarrassing." John paused and smiled slightly. "Often cameras seem to be involved as well to document the events in case anyone doesn't remember when they wake up themselves again, usually on Mondays. Just remember that the next time it happens you may be the one who is affected.

"So today's class, two assignments. Firstly, write up an information packet that would tell you all the important things in case you need to tell yourself some weekend. Secondly, I want you to pair up and take turns pretending to think you're someone else and dealing with someone who thinks they're someone else. Never hurts to have practice."

"We're back to the practical exercises this week, kids." If Kerrigan was going to comment on being five minutes late... well, she wasn't going to comment. "We talked about resource gathering a while back. Now, of course, you all understand the importance of keeping your resources up. If you flip that around, that means one of your prime objectives should be taking out your opponent's ability to gather resources."

She shifted her weight to one hip, then pressed a button. The Danger Shop environment gave way to the Badlands again, with two small bases on either side-- one command center, some resources, and a couple of SCVs. "In this simulation, your objective is twofold. First, you have to gather as many minerals as you can. Second, you have to try to disrupt your opponent's ability to gather resources. There's a couple of ways to do it.

"For example, you can block your opponent's access to the minerals by building a bunker in the right location. Of course, if you want to manage this, you have to strike quick, early, and well, because otherwise your opponent's SCVs can simply dismantle the bunker before it's finished. You can also simply assault the SCVs with your own, and hope your tactical maneuvering's decent enough to beat your opponent. Anything else... well, I leave up to your ingenuity."

She rubbed her forehead with two fingers. "Any questions before we begin?"

[ wait for the ocd up! remember, kids, scvs can gather resources, build structures, AND fight. sorta. only in close-combat ]

There was coffee and heart-shaped cookies at the front of the room.

The strange thing is that Peter didn't bring them.

A dedicated investigative reporter would, well, investigate that. Peter honestly didn't want to know, though.
