The classroom today was a bit different. The desks were all paired off, and for each set there was a strange spinny thing, a small set of tools and a question sheet.

Glitch was at the front of the class, standing at a bit of a distance from the desk. It might want some space after last week.

"Today, you'll be taking apart those mini sterling engines , putting them back together, and filling out the worksheet. Don't worry too much about the questions and just answer them as best you can. Sorry, but, you'll have to work in teams for it because I didn't have enough to go around." He gave them an apologetic smile. "When you're finished, bring it and your answers to my desk and pick up one of these packets to go over."

He picked one up from the top of the pile before finally sitting at his desk. "I'll be here to answer any questions during and after class. I'll be in my office tomorrow, too, if you need anything then." He sat back a bit and started to read over the packet again to refresh his synapses if there were any questions.

[ooc: OCD is on its way up like an upping thing!]

At the front of the class today was a table. The table was pretty ordinary and probably folded down and really wasn't the focus.

What was on table was the important thing.

Like squirrel hair brushes-- (Shh, don't let the squirrels know what they're made of!) --talcum powder, cocoa power and cellophane tape.

"Today we're going to fine out just how not easy it is to dust for prints. Seriously? They're so very easy to screw up and not everything leaves a print. There needs to be enough oil on your hands for them to be left, they can be smudged, on the wrong surface, botched up while dusting... The list goes on and on. So don't let them darn TV shows fool you with the ease of which they recover those fingerprints at the last minute to put the bad guy in jail."

He nodded seriously.

"They lie."

He passed out the all important handouts. )

"Now you all have fun with these and please don't try to frame any classmates for crimes they didn't commit so they have to blame a one armed student."

After getting an oh so handwavy phone call from Sam, Lee was in the library, covering Sam's shift for him. He wondered how different the library was during the week as opposed to weekends. He usually made at least one stop to the library on Wednesdays but he was never behind the counter.

The library was open.

As usual, Ghani was seated on her desk as the class began, feet swinging slightly as she waited for her students to arrive.

Once everyone was seated, she launched right into the lecture.  "Today we go back to the cradle of civilization, and no, I do not mean the Greeks.  The Greeks are overrated."  Coming from a woman directly descended from Agamemnon, that was saying something.  "Instead, we look at the Mesopotamian mythologies."

"You should all now have in your handouts a few different versions of Inanna's descent into the Underworld.  I'd like you to pair up and discuss the differences with a partner, and decide which story resonates the most with you.  We'll then come back together as a class and discuss the Inanna story together."

[as always, please to be waiting for my OCD is good to go!  Read forth and learn!  Text unapologetically cribbed from multiple sources.  Entertain yourselves, as I have to teach real live students today, and response time may vary.  Ah, wee-tiny newbie grad students.  How I adore you.]

"At some point," Jean-Paul said, "you are all going to have to create a budget. Some of you already have," he added with a slant of his eyes toward Liir, "and this is good, but some of you either are not that concerned about your money or can simply ask for more whenever you need it. I assure you this will not always be the case."

talky! )

Aly got to Study Hall later than she'd meant to, but then she wasn't really expecting everyone and their brother to rush into Study Hall bright and early Monday morning.

At least she hoped not.

Once again the students met in the Danger Room. The temperature had been cranked up to desert levels of heat, which was convenient since they were in the desert.

"Welcome to Egypt," Biff said with a grin. Let's reenact the exodus! )

"Okay, go!"
