After the students had walked into Caritas and settled in, the familiar opening to The Final Countdown began. GOB walked onto the stage much more calmly than usual and waved to the students before finally stopping and speaking into the microphone. "You know, I just flew in from California, and boy is this joke tired!"

The zombie drummer rolled off a perfect rimshot.

"Continuing with last week's comedy theme, today we're going to be trying out standup comedy. A standup just has to be funny, so the entrance isn't as important as it is for other forms of entertainment. Just walk out to your music, be gentle with your audience, then rip into whatever the hell you want for a few minutes. Take a couple minutes to come up with your act, then take turns up here."

"The only rule is that you have to be funny. It doesn't matter what you joke about as long as you remember that. Also, don't mock me or you get detention. Just because I have a thick skin doesn't mean I have to use it."

"Oh, at the end of the month, you all have to participate in a talent show. And next week I'm coaching a basketball game. Come out to see!"

Veronica was sitting on the desk in the front of the journalism room, sipping a cup of coffee and waiting for her students to arrive.

She noticed that Cameron's bruises appeared to be fading, but her eyes widened when Bel walked in, limping slightly and bruised. That was definitely a cause for concern, but as the others filed in, she realized she had other things to take care of first.

"Good morning," she greeted everyone. "We're going to head straight in to the darkroom this morning, so no coffee or pastries yet."

[ooc: watch for submission guidelines for the art fair to be posted by the admins. it's not a requirement for your character to submit something, but it could be fun. likewise, the field trip is not a requirement, but please comment here and let me know if you're going or not by Friday.]

The skies were clear and pudding-free for the class. When everyone has gathered on the beach, Ellie began:

Abby sat on the ground, twirling a black parasol as she waited for everyone to get settled. "Alright people, pull up a patch of dirt and let's get to work. Today we are going shopping! Sort of."

"Having a computer rocks, but in order to do specialized tasks you sometimes need specialized equipment." Abby held up a digital camera and snapped a group shot. "In order to let my boss back home see my class, I need to get a digital camera to hook up to my computer. Or a webcam. Or a video phone. Or maybe just a quarter inch spy cam that he could embed into a pair of really ugly glasses that would transmit a streaming video feed."

"Not that he would or anything."

Laying out a box of random accessories in front of her, Abby pointed. "In this box is pretty much everything I could find that has a cord. Cameras, joysticks, mics, flash drives, usb snowman, keyboards and tons of other stuff. I want you all to come up and choose something, research it online and report to the class about how to use it."

[ooc: Everyone should have their laptops with them or have *handwave* checked one out in the previous classes. Seriously, there could be anything in those boxes, so pick something that's a computer accessory and report on it. Thinkgeek is a fun place to look. Threads up! Yay!]

[*facepalm* Oh look! There is a tent over the computer students! It was always there! Computers are safe from pudding!]
