ifwebeworthy: (Don huh)

There was a pony in the classroom. Of course.

Don reported to Jane, "Thor says it's a mighty creature." And well might Thor say so, because look at it. Look at it. In its little sweater.

Jane sighed and couldn't really disagree with it. Because look at that pony. "They weren't meant to be part of class, but they keep wandering in--"

Just then, another pony clomped it's way into the classroom in a festive sweater, looking for treats.

"--but here we are," she finished.

"Sometimes gods have animals associated with them," Don mused, and, sure, let's go with that. "Like Thor has a sled pulled by goats, in some myths. Or Loki, um...actually we're not gonna talk about Sleipnir. And some gods are animals. Probably not these ponies, though. Hey, buddy," he said to the pony he somehow found himself petting.

"Odin has ravens. Hela has a giant wolf," Jane listed off. "How about we come up with animals you'd want to be associated with if you were a god."

"'Ponies in sweaters' is an acceptable option," Don told the class.

Today only Jon was in front of the class, and he was pouting glowering, arms crossed, as he leaned against the desk up front.

"You would think that the doctor would be the best one for this class, but apparently he's too good for it. Or he thought he'd make me squirm. Unfortunately for him, I have no issues discussing any part of this. Today we're covering the male reproductive system."

He pulled up an image on the big screen. "Even if this doesn't apply to your own body, it's useful to know how others' bodies behave and how they're built. And, well, no knowledge is really ever wasted."

You would say that, Jon

"So." He nodded and went into an in-depth clinical discussion of the topic, with only a few tangents about naming conventions and overly tight underwear. "Any questions?"

"Hey, everyone we're coming up on Not Life Day, the holiday that takes over the entire month," Aphra said by way of greeting. "It's actually fascinating from a xenoanthropological perspective, but you're not here for that."

Many of the class might wonder what they were here for at all. "Instead this holiday is all about being forced to spend time with your families, who you might be avoiding for very good reason." Isabela wasn't judging as she too was avoiding her family for very good reason.

"Because families can be extremely judgemental about all your life choices," Aphra added. "Which in turn can lead to all kinds of wacky hijinks as you try to avoid actually telling them to stay out of your business."
