Summer had sent out a message last night when it became pretty clear to her that the thing that swept her away on Wednesday morning and left her with a fridge full of jello that would go unconsumed was still going to keep her pretty tied up even going into Friday (and probably the weekend as a whole), but she figured she'd send out another one that morning, just in case anyone missed the first one:

Hey, everyone!
Sorry, but class is going to be canceled this week because I, unfortunately, am having to deal with an entirely different kind of Parents Weekend back home, and I don't even know when it'll blow over.
But you know what? Have some homework for next week. I am definitely going to want to hear some Weird, Wonderful, and WTF stories from this weekend, so be prepared next week with SOMETHING, okay? Cool. Text me or whatever if you have questions; hopefully I'll still have phone access otherwise there is seriously going to be hell to pay. --S.

God, she hated how even when she was at a point where she didn't have to deal with her obnoxious family on Parents Weekend anymore, she still apparently had to deal with her obnoxious family on Parents Weekend, just, you know, not on the island, which was, like, ohmygod, so totally worse.

Stark was not pouting about a lack of class before his. He was not sulking about a certain student missing from his class today. He’d gotten that out of his system already, thank you, and was just hoping Summer might return soon. The weekend would be so much less fun without her and he’d already missed out on Jello night and a night away! He was, however, at least a little resigned as he waited at the Portalocity office for the students.

“We’re headed to Minnesota today,” he told the assembled and smaller-than-usual class as they waited for the portal time. “To a town called Austin which is not the same as the one in Texas. The gnomes were worried I didn’t know that and meant to go to the other but no, this is the one we want. This is where the SPAM Museum is!”

Yes, students, once you stepped through this portal you would find yourself outside the doors of the SPAM Museum in downtown Austin, Minnesota.

“I know some of you will be receiving visitors this weekend. We’ll be back in plenty of time for that. No need to worry. I ought to be around all weekend, as well, if any of you need anything. Let’s get going, then.”
