"Morning, everyone," Amaya greeted the class this week with the usual nod. "Today, our focus is going right back into finishing up those hilts and handles we started up last week. By now, you should be ready to cut your wood block to form for your handle. You'll want to be careful, of course, and take your time with the cutting so you've got a nice shape ready to go for when we spruce it up a little with some rasping and smoothing, sanding and staining.

"For some of you, these finishing touches may take a while. For others? Not so much. So if you do finish a bit early, we can get started on the sharpening and refining the blade and other last minute touches we'll be using the last class to really focus on. Or, if you like, feel free to use the rest of the time to get back to the anvils again and just sort of work some metal around, since it's been a hot minute. Let me know if you have questions and....let's get started."

A bit of rain in the forecast didn't bother someone like Sidon too much, but the hint of thunder later on certain did make him a little bit nervous, as someone with a particular sensitivity to lightning damage. Class, then, was going to be held that day still on the beach, but under a very tall awning and tent to protect them a bit more from the elements should they be an issue, but also to maintain that summer-y beachtime feeling that this class was all aabout!

And, inside that tent, the students would find a couple of tables, and on those tables, there were crafting supplies and, most important, large baskets (woven, of course!) filled to the brim with a large assortment of seashells of all colors, sizes, and shapes. There were probably few rocks that managed to make their way in there, too, but it probably didn't take a terribly clever mind to predict what was about to come.

"Hello, my adventurous aquatic artists!" Sidon greeted them brightly. "This week, we're focusing more on the art aspect than the aquatic by making seashell art! Now, of course, the most rudimentary and basic approach to such art is merely arranging your shells in a fashion you find aesthetically pleasing on a sturdy surface, be it a canvas of sorts or a frame or perhaps you'd like to decorate a vase or bowl! Beautiful and practical! We have a good deal of supplies available to us, so please, feel free to let your mind run wild and free of the variety of possibilities in which your sea shell may take you!

"If you have questions or need help, by all means, do not hesitate to ask! And don't hesitate t help each other or work together, because Aquatic Arts can always be a team effort!"

There was a very large flag behind Sam today. Almost absurdly so. It was flanked by smaller variations on the American flag.

“Patriotism!” Sam burst out at precisely the beginning of class. “A very important and not at all weird quality!” Sure, Sam. Sure it is.

“In two days it will be Flag Day. A very important holiday here in America!” Except for how it wasn’t important at all. Nobody tell Sam. Or better yet, do.

“To celebrate this wonderful American holiday today we shall be designing flags!” What could go wrong?

“Flag Day, as you all know,” Sam began, oblivious to the fact that likely none of them knew, “commemorates the anniversary of the Continental Congress adopting the design of the very first American flag! Truly a momentous occasion in our history! Over the years there have been several designs symbolizing both our original thirteen colonies and our current fifty states. Although, of course, there were fewer stars on the older flags. Obviously the more stars the better!”

“Now, arts and crafts are a fine and wholesome way to spend your time and keep yourselves out of trouble. So today you shall be crafting your very own flags.”

Sam was intending for American flags to be made to be displayed on Wednesday. Too bad Sam neglected to mention that minor detail to the students in his class.

"Once you are have completed your assignments they can be displayed! So, of course, I am here to help you make them acceptable and not weird."

"So I promised we'd get to making pizza dough, and today we're gonna!" Raiden exclaimed excitedly. "It's really easy, so let's get started. Everyone has a printout of the recipe, and I'm also gonna talk you through it as I demo, okay?" That should cover the largest possible number of learning styles, he figured, and hopefully account for the blind guy. Also, Charlie's work station (if she was present) was conspicuously empty of ingredients, because he didn't want to get yelled at by some random lady again. "And if you need any additional help, just ask me!"

When they got to the part where they were supposed to let the dough rise for ninety minutes, Raiden pulled out a tray of pre-made dough balls and told the class, "And now we're gonna skip to the part where we make it into pizza and, most importantly, eat it. I've got a handwavey variety of toppings for you guys to choose from so you can make it your own--uh, Charlie, I wasn't sure what you liked so there's a cheese pizza over there for you so you don't have to do any 'cooking.' The rest of you, let's get started with punching the dough down."

Lana met them all at Portalocity looking a bit harried.

"My apologies, but my original plans for today fell through due to...well, war." What could you do? "So instead we'll be going back to Odessen, because at least I know it's safe. So, if any of you had additional questions for anyone you met last time, or things you didn't get a chance for, now's your chance."

She led them through the portal and set them loose.
