wrongkindofsith: (At least one of us has a clue)

The tavern today was set up as usual with Jaskier hiding a bit behind the bar. Just in case.

"Welcome, welcome! So glad to have you back!" He proclaimed.

"Today we'll be moving onto a more advanced kind of punching," Cara said. "Punching with your feet." Or kicking as she liked to call it when she wasn't winding people up.

"Kicking," Jaskier added quickly. "She means kicking. Which is why I am over here."

Had he been kicked in planning this class? Possibly.

He said that like she'd kicked him hard, or in any especially sensitive areas. "Now, there are almost as many ways of kicking as there are of punching, but the one with most reliable results involves your knee and the other person's crotch."

See, Jaskier, it could always be worse! So much worse!

Jaskier winced and immediately went to cover himself. "We have dummies to try it out on?"

"And remember, despite what you may think, it can work just as well on women as men."

Jaskier nodded sagely at that. "So! Let's begin, shall we?"

He was still hiding behind the bar.

Already being in quite the cooking mood thanks to some of the prep work for tonight's new recipeh and sufficiently caffeinated this week, thank you, it was time to start getting into the lessons that Ignis had been waiting for, and that was returning to the kitchen with a few cooking classes!

"Good morning," Ignis greeted the class with a nod and a gesture toward the assorted collection of kitchen essentials set out before him and class. "For the next few classes, we're going to be focusing on what has always been, for me, at least, the crux of any home, and that is the kitchen. Food, after all, is what fuels us, and to be well fed usually goes hand-in-hand with well-being. And I'm sure that, with all things in this class thus far, we have a wide variety of experience in this area across the board in this class, from those who have rarely even deigned to so much as open a can to potentially budding world-class chefs. But no matter where you are in your culinary expertise, it never hurts to brush up on the basics, and that is what we will be focusing on in our next few classes.

"Starting out, of course, with knowing what equipment and tools will be necessary for a successfully run kitchen. Now, not all of these are completely required--one can still make excellent meals even when resources are limited--but these are all staples of the kitchen that are useful to have around when possible, and, from the perspective of a home, important to have on hand. Today, we will mostly be breaking down each of these items and discussing a little bit on how they're used, what they do, and why they're important. Please keep in mind, this list is not at all exhaustive, and if you have anything that is not covered in the list that you're particularly fond of for a kitchen, please bring it up and share it with the class and we will consider that as well. But, without further ado, allow me to start with what I personally feel is the most essential out of all the essentials, a good chef's knife, and, in conjunction with that, a sharpener and a good quality cutting board..."

And, with that, the lesson had truly begun....and would continue on for at least a while.

Anakin was very pleased with his planning from last week because it meant it bought him more time to come up with something new to teach.

"Today we're continuing with our set pieces," Anakin said, using the Force to drag out the beginnings of a castle, a volcano, and a framework to swing around and fake sword fight from. "Let's get some color and some working lights and some, well, structural integrity, going on your pieces today. Ask if you need some help, I'm an excellent engineer."

Gladio stood, ready and prepared for this day's lesson, spinning a tennis racket idly in his hand as if he was barely conscious of it. After all, when you were used to wielding swords just as big as you were (and you were not by any measurement a small man), this thing practically felt like air. But he was definitely actually thinking of what kind of damage it might do if he needed to use it in a pinch.

Finally, though, he stopped twirling the thing and met the students with a grin. "Tennis!" he announced. "It's a sport about hitting a ball with a weird looking stick over a waist-high net!"

Sure. It was definitely just that simple.

Dwight looked at his co-teacher with a definite eyebrow lift at that as he spoke up.

"It's a little more involved than all of that, but yes. Today we are going to work out some pent up energy with some rousing matches. So, let's not waste any time and get into the actual lesson about the game" he said giving a smirk to Gladio as they got started.

When Jo turned up to the library after her classes were finished, she hadn’t noticed anything wrong at first, which probably should have been her first clue that something had been happening.

She only noticed what was wrong when she went to reshelve books and found that half the books in one section had been replaced by another genre. She was trying to put books back in the fantasy section when she came across books that should have been in the historical section. This was the kind of thing she was noticing through the different shelves and she realised it was going to be pointless trying to reshelve since she was having trouble finding where the other half of the row had disappeared to.

Hopefully no one wanted books today or if they did they were at least in the half of the section that hadn’t moved.
