Photography; Thursday, First Period [03/10].

When the students came into the classroom that morning, they'd find they weren't entirely alone. A small collection of mannequins had joined them and the photography equipment, each wearing a highly moddable striking and fashionable sort of outfit. Prompto grinned a little as everyone got settled before he got the ball rolling on today's lesson.

"As you can see," he said, gesturing toward the mannequins with a grin, "we've got some guests to help us out this week, but we'll get to them in a moment. We're going to start by going over last week's assignment, where I wanted you guys to take some shots playing around with lighting, and then we'll move onto the next things. Who's got some good ones they've been just itching to show off this week?"

And once everyone who wanted to had the chance to show off some work and inspire little points of discussion about the use of lighting, Prompto launched into this week's topic. "Great work, guys," he said. "Now, we've been kind of jumping around a little bit....I feel like that's kind of standard for a Fandom High class, though, really, but now that we've been doing this for a while and we've got some basic techniques down, it's time to focus a little on what sort of careers a person can build out of photography. Now, we've already talked about a lot of potential focuses...we've done landscapes, wildlife, portraits, food!....but a really big one, career-wise, for a lot of photographers....and actually something I considered as a potential career if my life hadn't ended up going in a wildly different direction...is fashion photography, which is a huge industry with a lot of different avenues to take, so we're going to dive into some of that today."

With that, then, Prompto took the time to really break down the different types of fashion photography, everything from high fashion to runway to commercial and catalogue and everything in between, what makes them different, and the usual tips and suggestions to help elevate their own pictures.

"And, of course, this is where our very well-dressed mannequins come into play today," he concluded with a grin. "You've got all sorts of lighting and set-dressing stuff to play around with and practice getting some good shots of the fashion on display today, and for next week, I'd like you guys to try and put together a small fashion shot portfolio. Work with each other, your roommates, your friends, pets," he had to grin particularly at that one, "and see what you can come up with. Anything you guys want me to go over again, about the style, the industry, any of the types? Or you guys think you're ready to get shooting?"

Wilderness Survival; Thursday, Second Period [03/10].

"Hope the Danger Shop hasn't spoiled you guys too much," Gladio greeted his class as he met them outside the school, where they'd been instructed to gather today, "because we're making a long-awaited return to the preserve for this week's lesson, but, before we do that, I've got some information to share with you all today. Last week, we learned how to forage for plants, to..." He grinned, "mixed results, and today, we're doing the fauna side of things and we'll be tracking some wildlife. Nice thing about this island is that the wildlife seems to be relatively harmless....here's to hoping you guys don't prove me wrong on that today, and I spent last weekend doing my own research on what we might find out there, how to find them, and how to keep a look out for them. Now, the majority of critters you're going to find out there will probably be your squirrels, of course, those little porg guys closer to the shores, but not always, your alots, your gremlins, your teal deer..."

And, oh look, there seemed to be a few of those teal deer edging around where they were standing as Gladio launched into his very handwavily specific findings about them all from his avoid-being-killed-by-his-caffeine-deprived-roommate excursion into the woods last weekend.

"Of course," he finally concluded, when that was all wrapped up, "this isn't exactly an exhaustive study. This is just one man's experience over a small amount of time. But I'd like you call to keep that in mind as we set out today, and I want you to try and track these animals, using the details and methods I definitely mentioned. You can work together, you can work alone, but when you hear my signal, start heading back to the old campgrounds as our base and we'll talk about what you were able to discover and find. And that's where we're going to be starting out as a base, so...let's get heading over there and we can get started, and if you have any questions, you can ask them along the way."

Library, Thursday 3/10

There was water in the library today. Unfortunately, Belle couldn't tell where it was coming from and kept getting hit with small amounts of water.

Maybe it was a gremlin hiding somewhere with a tiny water gun or with a water bottle or with cups. Maybe it was a book making poor choices. Maybe there was no rational explanation.

Maybe Belle should have brought an umbrella or poncho with her today. If only she'd known!
