It had taken a little bit of convincing, but Rosa had managed to sway Amaya a little for the setting of today's class, which was far more 'abandoned warehouse' than 'Ren Faire tournament grounds, though still with a good amount of practice dummies (all wearing black ninja masks like B-movie criminals because Rosa really did need to lay off the late-night shitty action movie marathons) and a few tables with a wide variety of small bladed weapons available to them.

"Welcome back, everyone," Amaya greeted the class with a nod. "Now that we're in week two, that means we can finally start getting into the good stuff, and the good stuff is actual weapons! Starting this week with..."

Amaya had barely trailed off before Rosa yanked one of the weapons out of the wood of the table, threw it past her co-teacher, until it struck firmly in the center of the chest of one of the dummies with a slight wobble at it stuck.

"Daggers," Rosa concluded helpfully.

Daggers! )

"So, that's enough about the history aspects of it," Amaya offered. "Pretty basic, pretty broad, because a dagger's just one of those weapons that's so logical that it makes its way into just about everything, but if you have any specific questions, I'll be more than happy to go into a little more detail. And if not, I'll be handing you over to Detective Diaz, who will go over with you some of the different ways to use a dagger in combat, and then you'll have the chance to give it a try with the practice dummies yourself."

"Welcome back, everyone!" Sidon greeted the class with the expected exhuberance from the front of the classroom, his grin" sharp and eager as they all settled in. "I hope you've all had a truly fantastic week, and that you are ready to take our first bold step into the Great Legend of Hyrule now that we can begin in earnest! I will have to admit, I had a very difficult time trying to decide where we should venture first, but there is truly but one legend that, unfortunately, looms quite powerful and real in Hyrule during our present day that there could be no other place to start than with that of Ganon, the calamitous one.

Yee-haw. )

Well, those who took his last class probably knew that it influenced it much more than he was letting on, but, again, that was a legend for another day, and he turned his attention eagerly toward the students.

"Please, I am eager to hear your thoughts!"

The Danger Shop was once again set up to be half bakery, half mechanical engineering workshop. But this time, there was a small pool there as well. Which could be a clue to what terrible thing the teachers had in mind this week.

"Welcome back!" Tony said with a bright smile. "We're moving forward on challenging concepts today..."

"We're going to make boats out of food!" Steve said excitedly. "And then we're going to put them in this pool and see how fast you can make them go."

He paused. "Which reminds me that the engineering portion is creating the engine to propel your boats. They need to go 20 feet in a minute without tipping over."

"Which means we have motors that are not made of food," Tony added. "But the boat itself must be made of entirely edible ingredients."

Wood was not edible, okay? Not really.

"It has to be edible, but it doesn't have to be delicious," Steve said, nodding. "It does have to transport something for us to try that should taste good, okay? And we know this is a lot of work to ask from you, so we're giving you some helpers."

Well. 'Helpers.' Steve gestured at the door and a dozen, well, Roombas with a claw arms zipped into the room with varying degrees of skill.

"So, their AIs are still new, but they learn quickly!" Tony said, wincing as one of them bumped into the pool and beeped frantically in a panic.

"They also can't really see very well," Steve said, never afraid to state the obvious. "But they'll definitely be able to tip your boat over if it isn't well-balanced. They'll be here to help you each week."

So they had that going for them?

"Okay. Make us a boat that won't sink and a dessert that won't make us sick! You can do it!"

“Good morning, welcome back,” Goose nodded to his class as he began that day’s lecture, “so before we start delving further into the mechanical engineering, I thought we’d take a look at some of the math that we will be using in this course since math does play a considerable aspect of mechanical engineering,”

“Mechanical engineering primarily uses algebra , calculus and trigonometry ,” he explained as he started to go through the different examples and how they related specifically to mechanical engineering, “so I do have some test papers to see what level you are at first since we’ll spend the couple of lessons so that we can prepare for the rest of the course but don’t worry if you struggle with the test, this is only an intro course so this is just to get an idea of what level of math you may already have experienced and I know what we'll need to work on,"
