It was no big secret that, even between the three of them, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladio had completely lost the thread of what this class was supposed to be by now, to the point where they were just sort of planning to wing it (HA!) for the last three classes, which sort of made Ignis twitch a little, but at least Prompto's idea for leaning hard into the chocobo stuff this week made it a little better?

After all, when the Danger Shop gave you chocobos...

This week, it was chocobos and a pretty little forest glen, and an exciteable blonde who'd just came across this cool chocobo concept in another video game and was very pleased to have figured out how to bring it into the DS.

"Today," Prompto announced, "we're going to play a little bit of a game with the help of our good friend, the chocobos, and that game is called Chocobo Hot and Cold! It's really simple, you guys. You see, all around this forest here, there's going to be secret buried treasure! But the only way to find it is going to be through your chocobo! Hop on, get comfortable, and give it some gyshal greens to inspire it to go hunting for it!"

"Not a bit unlike how some animals," offered Ignis, "will help one to search out rare truffles."

Which made Gladio snort. "Because, yeah, everyone can relate to truffle hunting."

"Anyway," said Prompto, with a withering look at the other two because this was his thing right now!, "yeah, kind of like truffle hunting, but better, because chocobos. Right, buddy?" He gave the chocobo at his side an affectionate pat. "So you've got to listen carefully to how your chocobo responds. If it says 'Kweh....you're pretty cold, not much treasure there. If it says Kweh?!, that's good news! You're getting warmer! If it says Kwehhh!?,"--aren't you all so glad you get to just hear your teacher attempting to squawk out chocobo kwehs this morning? "ohhhhh, baby, you're almost there, and if it says K-KWEHHH!!!--"

The chocobo chimed in with an excited echo of that one, complete with fluttering wings and stomping feet, and Prompto grinned.

"Start digging! You've found it! And a chocobo beak is so strong that it can actually dig for you! The better the treasure, the deeper it is, so don't give up, keep digging!

"And that's all there is to it, really! It's all about you and your chocobo trusting each other and communicating and working together to see what you can find! Are there any questions? If not, we'll let you all pick out a chocobo and get started!"

Superhero class was meeting in the Danger Shop today. No movie day today. It was time for something a little more practical. At least that was the hope.

“I was talking to Kitty yesterday,” Stark said. “Kitty who usually teaches the superhero class because she is one. A hero, not a class.” Just in case that wasn’t clear. This was Fandom. You never really knew.

“She seemed surprised we hadn’t done anything practical yet. Or at all. So I thought we could try something different today. We’re in here so it isn’t dangerous. No need to worry. I won’t let anything happen if I can help it. But we’re going to New York, or a Danger Shop version of it, and we’re going to help.”

Stark hadn’t originally planned on exactly this scenario but sometimes the Danger Shop did what it wanted.

“Every year there’s something called SantaCon that started as something fun and and now has devolved into something not so fun. Sometimes people get hurt. Or at least frightened. No supervillains here, that I know of.” Though a villain masquerading as a drunk Santa would be interesting. “Just regular people making poor choices. Drunken choices.” Drunken choices like the sort that many adults on this island might be making tonight after a certain party.

“We’re going to try and help, ah, keep the peace. Get people home safely. Keep the Santas away from other people on this block. Without anyone getting hurt. Not that anyone would, really, because this is all pretend enough that nobody will really get hurt.” And if anyone did, well, Stark knew all the clinic staff.

“So. Be careful, even if it isn’t real. Try and help. See what happens. I’ll be here if you need me.”

"Well," Steve said slowly as a powdered sugar-covered puffball went rolling by, muttering to itself, "today sure is a day."

Walking the dog was such a thing today.

"Isn't December fun," Tony ventured.

"It hasn't messed up the coffee yet?" Steve offered, dooming them all.

The look Tony shot him was positively betrayed by that tempting of fate. "When that happens, it'll be your fault."

"It's not nice to blame people in a course about teamwork," Steve said hypocritically.

"Accurate, though," Tony said. "But since this is a class on teamwork... we'll be working with what we've got."

"Work together and herd the puffballs into--" Steve pointed, "that corner."

The books seemed to be behaving themselves this week so Jo was relieved that she didn’t have any issues with reshelving this week.

What Jo hadn’t been expecting had been balls of what appeared to be sugar rolling around the library and leaving traces of powdered sugar everywhere. She didn’t know if she was supposed to clean up the sugar or not because it seemed to be happening quite a bit.

She was also curious about what they language they seemed to be speaking, after the other day with the dolls … she wasn’t sure if she wanted to know or not.
